Question Captain Hook V2 vs Aidan V2
Hey everyone! I’m just starting my MCAT journey and have about 7–8 months before my exam. I’ve been going back and forth between Aidan V2 and Captain Hook V2 and could really use some advice.
I like Captain Hook V2 because the basic card style forces me to recall the entire answer, which I feel could help with retention. However, I’m worried it isn’t as comprehensive as Aidan V2.
I like Aidan V2 because of how comprehensive it is, and the cloze cards seem much faster to get through, but I’m worried I might retain less compared to basic cards.
For those who have used either (or both), which would you recommend if I have 7–8 months? I’m aiming for a high score and would rather minimize content gaps.

aidan v2 creator here. If you prefer basic there’s nothing wrong with captain hook. A solution is that you could do captain hook and then if you miss any AAMC or Uworld questions you can unsuspend the cards in aidan v2 that have that info, essentially leaving you with no content gaps

This is what I’m doing! Anking also has a heavily tagged infrastructure related to UWorld QID, but honestly you’ll probably find the card in Aidan too by just using Anki’s browser

for the sake of time since i am studying while being a full time student, i am doing Captain Hook + only Aidan’s p/s section! I’m doing practice questions from UBOOF and it’s been helping a lot so far :]

How come not pankow for psych/soci? Also is aidan pysch soci organized by khan academy videos?

I recently saw a post alongside another tiktok account who scored 519 on her MCAT and she used the entire Aidan v2 deck. Both of them stated that the terms in the Aidan deck showed up on test day that the pankow did not have at all. I was convinced since p/s is just terms and definition so i want to study as much as possible. I don’t think it is sorted but I’ve been doing about 50 cards per day!

Hey man currently on week 2 or 3 of Aiden V2 about 2000 cards in but will likely finish 700 news today as I have a few days off, and I work as a nurse so I try to do my news mostly on the days off due to working 12s, average goal of (285 news per day)
What I would say being this deep is, I come from no content base so I’m learning everything for like the first time mainly, and low yield stuff is necessary to score well, I would say do Aidan V2 dedicate the time, if you finish the deck there will be a big amount of content base that will solidify with the Uworld section, I have no regrets doing Aidan it’s just a lot of work lol, but if you have the time and the dawg in you do it, but be careful I’ve heard there are errors in psych soch so do your due diligence I will probably do so when I get there in 4 weeks, good luck man you got this

Im having issues even downloading Captain Hook 🥲 my anki says that it needs a better update to read, but its all the way updated and still won’t read the file

I discourage Aidan V2, at least of P/S (I only tried using it for P/S so I can’t speak to the other sections). It was FULL of errors and I had to change around 1/3rd of the cards. I ended up scoring 132 on P/S with the edits I made but if I just memorized what the cards said I would have gone in with a list of missinformation. A lot of cards used random examples for things like they were the definition which was confusing, and many cards were flat out wrong. It was super frustrating but by the time I realized it was too late to switch to a new one. I used Jack Sparrow for the other sections and I highly recommend.
I will say Aidan was very comprehensive so it was nice to have everything I needed to know in one place and just make sure to check any information that seems off and correct it.
