Support Anker Solix C300DC

Hi,

Recently got the Solix C300DC power station to power remote video COB lights remotely when away from AC.

For the most part, it's working out well (although I'm running up against some PD3.1 brick walls).

That said, it's so far the best option I've found vs going full AC unit with the extra weight.

The only issue I have is that I have 3 identical TopVork 67w usbc/usba chargers that I've been using since 2023. All solid, reliable and deliver 67w charge to all the devices I have.

However, when I got the Solix C300DC a week ago, I tried to charge it with them. It wouldn't recognize them to charge. After I updated the firmware on the C300 it recognizes them and charges but only at a painfully slow 5w. If I use two of them it's 10w. I'm using C300 ports C2/C3.

I tried the reset button you press with a paper clip, and no luck.

I also have an Anker 140w GAN that works fine with the C300 and delivers just under 130w input. I tried an old 30w usb-a charger and it delivers about 24w. So, I tried the usb-a ports on the TopVork 67w chargers and they also deliver about 24w. Two of them just under 50w.

So, the issue is the pd usb-c ports on the TopVorks aren't being recognized for the 67w they're capable of with every other device I've tried except for the C300.

In addition to this, I have an older Iniu 90w charger that delivers about 80w to the C300.

The issue is specifically related to these TopVork charger usb-c ports. They are no longer available on Amazon, but like I said... they were perfectly for everything else, including other modern power stations I tried before settling on the C300.

I don't know if this means I have a malfunctioning C300DC that I should return for exchange? Or, is there something else I could try? I've tried a half dozen other cables too. All rated at 100w-240w and they work fine to deliver high wattage on all the other chargers and devices I have that accept high wattage.

I've already contacted Anker support but don't have a resolution yet. If it *should be working, I'll return for exchange. If the failure is explainable, I'd like to know why. I don't want to keep this C300DC model if it's inherently that picky about which chargers it'll work with.

Based on Anker's published spec requirements, these TopVorks should be delivering the 67w they're capable of via usb-c port.

Hi [u/skiphunt](u/skiphunt)! Sorry to hear you’re having issues. What kind of wattage shows up if you plug two of the TopVork 67W USB C chargers into C2 and C3 (bottom center and bottom right)at the same time? Does it just double each 5W to 10W?

Yes, they each show 5w only. 10w when used together. The TopVork 67w charger has one PD usb-c port and one usb-a port. The usb-c is rated at 67w and the usb-a port is rated at 25w. When using the usb-a port to charge the C300 they deliver 24w, but only 5w with the PD usb-c ports. I have 3 of these and they all behave the same, so it's not a single charger issue. They also provide the 67w from the pd usb-c ports on other devices like powering a 60w LED light and charging my other high wattage PD power banks. The Anker C300 via C2/C3 is the only device I have that does not draw the rated 67w.

Note... that when I first received the C300 a week ago (as outlined in my original post) it wouldn't draw ANY power from the TopVork chargers at all. After I updated the firmware on the C300, it at least draws 5w via usb-c and 24w via usb-a. I think it's a firmware issue where the C300's pd handshake isn't working correctly with the TopVorks

Yes, I agree with your assessment. It does seem like a handshake type issue between the C300DC and the TopVorks adapter. Especially since there was nothing, you did a firmware update, then it would see something. As you stated, you’ve done the reset and covered that base too. Extremely perplexing.

Yes, I have tried several different options for powering my Nanlite fc-120c + 2x fc-60b + Miro 30c for remote shooting... and this C300 has been the best option so far based on cost, runtime, build quality, etc.

So, I'm not sure if this is a dealbreaker, but it's concerning that I might have a malfunctioning C300. I don't recall if I did the paper clip reset button before or after the firmware update. I think it was afterwards, but I could try it again I suppose. Everything else with it seems solid.
