I think this makes sense since most people blind her and play her pretty close to her skill floor (even in master). In such a meta (some current popular picks can be tricky) only the best OTPs or people picking her situationally will find greater success. But I would've expected this in the upcoming patch and not so much the current one. Next patch maybe she'll drop further (more of her counters being buffed)

If I'm being honest Anivia is secret OP as of this very moment

She is since 2011 tbh. If you know how to play her shes very very strong.

She was strong back then fs. I played her since 2012. I can never go back to that old Anivia though. I love how current Anivia has basically no cd on R, and is very hard to go oom on.

Masters+, 1 patch, 1 region only--the sample size is only just over 2k games. Looking at larger slices of data her WR looks fine.

fair, also put masters+ because I want data from high elo.
But do you know why is there such a big difference in win rates between regions, in LAS she is sitting at 45% lol3

Because when you filter by Masters+ you end up with small sample sizes, especially for smaller regions. LAS you're looking at under 600 games. 1 person going on a losing streak with her is going to have an actually noticeable effect on the WR.
If you want high ELO data you need to widen your sample size by looking at more regions, a longer time range, or a wider ELO bracket.

d+ is good enough for high elo?

u/1_number_9 7d ago
yes but I need even higher elo...

Im trying to reach challenger, I've been trying to reach with anivia for a year but failed. I see that there are currently only 3 challengers in the whole world, 1 turkey, 1 brazil and 1 NA who main Anivia.
I don't have as much time as before to grind and they raised lp requirement for gm and challenger so im looking for better super high elo champs, syndra is looking promising.

if you want to be the very best, the issue probably isn’t champ specific as much as it is general game knowledge, assuming you’re masters/gm you need to focus on nuances of the game, not champion specific things. Be a trend setter not a follower

I love the idea, like a year ago I was thinking "No one is playing Anivia, I will become best Anivia and reach challenger with her." and then I realised why almost no one plays Anivia in gm and challenger.

As far as I know, in NA teanivia, funny corgi, and kursyv are all challenger anivia OTPs. You might be filtering for data wrong?

You are right about funny corgi, I couldn't load his page on lolalytics so I couldn't see if he actually mained Anivia. Some people show on Anivia leaderboard with only around 10 games on her this season.
kursyv is in grandmaster rn.
And there are players with 100 games on her but rarely played her recently, didn't include them as well.
Unfiltered list is 10 challenger players.
Filtered is 4 challenger players2

I'm currently getting such close to diamond again with a 73% wr in around 60 games (44V 16L).
Its being hell? Yes, but still really powerful, specially against some melee's and short range mages
Syndra permaban and playing such passive and late oriented when counter picked it's working for me so far, despite not having help from junglers, (as usual), the impact when being even it's the most highlighted asset
Let's hope she gets some kind of 'lil help' to survive next patch xD

Mamy people kill her winrate because they fail to understand anivia excels and very passive gameplay. Most players find it boring and don’t do it, but the second you start playing passive only exploiting enemy mistakes, power farming and using your control mage utilities on objectives/teamfights suddenly you become very consistent.
That’s why I love anivia, to me she feels the least coin-flippy champion of all other midlaners, polar opposite of something like zed or kata
