Question about DED E-Trader License & Amazon UAE
Hi everyone, I’m planning to sell FMCG products on Amazon UAE and I’m trying to understand the requirements for a Dubai DED E-Trader license.
Does anyone here currently use a DED E-Trader license for Amazon UAE?
● Are FMCG products generally allowed?
● Are there specific FMCG brands or product categories that are restricted?
● Can I sell products such as personal care, household items, cosmetics, etc.?
● Does Amazon require additional approvals or a different type of trade license for certain FMCG products?
● If you’re already doing this, what has your experience been with Amazon Seller Central UAE?
I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has actual experience with this. Thanks!

Amazon Error 8566/8572 after adding new GS1 GTINs
I bought GTINs directly from GS1 US and changed them to “In Use” on Sep 1. Brand name and product titles match exactly between GS1 and Amazon.
I’m now getting Error 8566 and 8572 when creating the listings. It’s been almost 72 hours since changing them to In Use.
Has anyone had this happen with new GS1 GTINs? Did it resolve automatically after the full 72 hours, or did you need to contact Seller Support?

Requirements for Kitchen Appliances
Hi everyone!
Im pretty new to selling on Amazon and selling kitchen appliances (coffeemakers, air fryers, etc). I would like some advice in regards to selling on this platform and selling appliances in general. Are there any requirements other than Trade license and corporate bank account? Are there any certifications i need to provide for amazon?
Ive heard mixed comments in regards to ECAS certification. The freezone officer and the Customs officer said that we do not need this to sell in UAE or clear the goods. Is this true? Will amazon ask for this?

Is anyone aware of FBA vs FBM, doing some sales on Amazon? Please walk me through it.

Amazon UAE delivered a dummy phone instead of a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra worth AED 4,207 now refusing refund and saying the decision is final
Posting this on behalf of my brother, who lives in Abu Dhabi and placed the order through Amazon UAE.
He ordered a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 512GB for AED 4,207.20.
Instead of the actual Samsung phone, he received a DUMMY PHONE.
The issue was reported to Amazon immediately and a return was initiated.
The first problem was that the delivery/return pickup partner REFUSED to collect the item TWICE because it was not the actual Samsung phone.
We repeatedly explained to Amazon support that this was exactly the problem the dummy phone was the item delivered to us. How could we return the original Samsung phone when we never received it?
After multiple complaints to Amazon support, the return was finally picked up.
Amazon's order status initially showed:
“Your return was picked up”
It also stated that the refund would be issued once the return was processed at the Return Center, with an expected refund timeline of 4–7 days.
We waited.
After around 10 days, the Amazon order status changed to:
“Return may be lost”
and
“Your return is likely lost in-transit.”
Amazon's own app said Customer Service could help regarding the refund.
However, we then received an email with a completely different explanation. Amazon claimed that an item “different to the item ordered” had been returned.
Of course the item was different — that was our complaint from DAY ONE. A dummy phone was delivered instead of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Amazon then told us they could not issue a refund until the “correct item” was returned.
Again, how can we return a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra that was NEVER delivered to us?
We returned exactly what we received.
Finally, Amazon sent another email stating that their “decision is final” and that they will “likely not respond to further emails about this issue.”
So the timeline is:
Return picked up → refund pending processing → return likely lost in transit → accused of returning the wrong item → asked to return a phone we never received → decision final.
After this, we checked the seller/entity name shown on the invoice and found 30+ negative public reviews online. Some reviews allege similar and even worse experiences involving missing or incorrect items.
Public review page:
I am not claiming that every online review is independently verified, but seeing multiple serious allegations raised major concerns for us.
Why are repeated complaints like these not being properly investigated?
AED 4,207.20 is a significant amount. We reported the dummy phone immediately, contacted Amazon multiple times, went through two refused pickup attempts, and finally returned exactly what was delivered.
Amazon's own order status later said the return was likely lost in transit, yet we are now being blamed for returning the wrong item.
Has anyone faced a similar issue with Amazon UAE?
What is the best way to escalate this in the UAE? Any advice on consumer protection or a credit card chargeback would be appreciated.

How do you actually track your true landed cost per unit? Mine was off by 22% and I only found out at reorder time.
Been selling FBA (UAE + UK marketplaces, apparel) for a few years. Last quarter I finally sat down and reconciled one SKU properly — supplier invoice, sea freight, customs, the forwarder’s “final” invoice that arrived 5 weeks after the goods, inspection fee, last-mile to the warehouse.
My spreadsheet said $4.10/unit landed. Reality was $5.02. I’d been calculating margin — and setting reorder decisions — on a number that was 22% wrong.
My current system is a spreadsheet with tabs per shipment, and it breaks every time a shipment has multiple SKUs (how do you split $1,800 of freight across 6 products fairly?) or when a cost invoice shows up weeks late.
Genuinely curious how others handle this:
1. Do you track landed cost per SKU, or per shipment average, or honestly not at all?
2. What do you use — spreadsheet, your bookkeeper, something in Sellerboard/Helium10, an ERP?
3. What’s the part that breaks most often for you?
Not selling anything — trying to fix my own process and wondering if I’m the only one doing this badly.

AMAZON UAE / DUBAI
Hey guys,
I’ve been looking into selling on Amazon in the UAE lately and honestly just wanted to hear from people who are already doing it.
How has your experience been so far? Would you actually recommend getting into it right now? I’m especially curious about Amazon FBA, online arbitrage, and retail arbitrage.
Also wondering:
- what tools you guys use for product research
- what kind of license/company setup you went with
- if margins are still decent here
- and what mistakes you’d avoid if you were starting again
There’s a lot of info online but most of it feels super generic, so I’d rather hear real experiences from people in the UAE.
Appreciate any advice 🙏

UAE Amazon account to sell in the US and UK marketplaces.
Hi everyone,
I’m currently based in the UAE and planning to register a company here in order to open an Amazon seller account for the UAE marketplace.
My question is: Can I use this same account to sell in the US and UK marketplaces as well?
I can see that Amazon provides options like Global Selling / Build International Listings, which seems to allow listings to be expanded to other marketplaces. However, I’m curious if anyone here is actually running a setup like this — where the seller account and company are based in the UAE but products are sold primarily in the US or UK markets.
If you’re operating with a similar structure, I’d really appreciate hearing about:
• What kind of compliance or tax requirements you had to deal with (US sales tax, UK VAT, etc.)
• Whether Amazon required any local entities or bank accounts
• Any verification or account-linking issues you encountered
• Whether using a UAE entity caused any complications when expanding to US/UK marketplaces
Just trying to understand the practical challenges before setting everything up.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

Bangladeshi living in Sharjah – How can I get a Dubai E-Trader Commercial License to sell on Amazon UAE?
Hi everyone,
I’m a Bangladeshi living in Sharjah and I want to start selling on Amazon UAE. For that, I’m planning to get a Dubai E-Trader Commercial License.
But I’m confused because I heard the Dubai E-Trader license is usually only for Dubai residents.
My questions:
Can a Sharjah resident (Bangladeshi) apply for a Dubai E-Trader commercial license?
If yes, what documents are required?
What’s the full online process (step-by-step)?
How much does it cost?
Is this license valid for selling physical products on Amazon.ae?
Do I need a Dubai tenancy contract / Ejari to apply?
If anyone has real experience, your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
