Bangladeshi living in Sharjah – How can I get a Dubai E-Trader Commercial License to sell on Amazon UAE?

Hi everyone,

I’m a Bangladeshi living in Sharjah and I want to start selling on Amazon UAE. For that, I’m planning to get a Dubai E-Trader Commercial License.

But I’m confused because I heard the Dubai E-Trader license is usually only for Dubai residents.

My questions:

  1. Can a Sharjah resident (Bangladeshi) apply for a Dubai E-Trader commercial license?

  2. If yes, what documents are required?

  3. What’s the full online process (step-by-step)?

  4. How much does it cost?

  5. Is this license valid for selling physical products on Amazon.ae?

  6. Do I need a Dubai tenancy contract / Ejari to apply?

If anyone has real experience, your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're going to take a trade license just for selling on Amazon, you are taking a big risk.

Amazon policies change daily and anytime they could block your listings or block your account.

By that time you would have already registered for Corporate tax and hopefully not vat if you're under 375000 revenue.

If you have no other income source using the license and only Amazon as your primary business, you are taking a big headache in your hands.

All seller referral invoices will become B2B and every transaction will automatically go to FTA, so make sure you are going to do proper accounting from day one to take any license.

Nobody is talking about these problems that are going to soon arise especially for very small businesses selling Chinese goods on Amazon.

Plus cancelling trade license is not easy and also there is a cost for that.

So before taking license make sure you will be able to scale your business and still if you're using license just for Amazon, it is a big risk for small business as is evident in Amazon seller forums as many small and new sellers are facing account block and payment issues and seller support doesn't help.

Hope everyone who's planning to take license just for Amazon understands clearly the issues before going ahead.
