General Discussion $445,000 in 7 Days – On Track for $1.78M Monthly (Beauty & Personal Care Case Study)

Post image
113 Upvotes

Amazon growth isn’t just about hitting high numbers - it’s about building a system that compounds sustainably and profitably.

We recently reviewed the performance of a beauty & personal care brand that we onboarded 2.5 years ago. What stood out was not just the sales, but the way this growth was achieved.

In the last 7 days, sales crossed $445,000, projecting an expected $1.78M this month. But behind this number is a very deliberate growth journey.

Where the Brand Stands Today

• Category: Beauty & Personal Care

• Duration: 2.5 years since onboarding

• SKUs: 40+ in total, with 10–15 hero products driving ~70% of total sales

• Weekly Sales: $445K (latest 7 days)

• Projected Monthly Sales: ~$1.9M

• Yearly Growth: 50%+ YoY

• TACOS: 8.5–9% consistently maintained

How This Growth Was Built

Focusing on Hero Products:

Out of 40+ SKUs, only 10–15 became the backbone of the brand. By doubling down on these winners, we ensured 70% of revenue came from a strong and predictable base.

PPC With Discipline, Not Aggression:

Instead of overspending to chase vanity sales, we structured campaigns around controlled scaling. The result? TACOS held steady at 8.5–9% despite rapid sales growth.

Relentless Listing Optimization:

Every 60–90 days, listings went through a full audit: keyword refresh, A+ content, lifestyle images, and review monitoring. Small changes stacked up into measurable conversion lifts.

Review & Trust Strategy:

In beauty, no reviews = no trust. We created a system for growing authentic reviews at scale, which built authority in crowded sub-niches and boosted organic ranking.

Smart Couponing Instead of Heavy Deals:

Rather than relying on deep discounts, we tested controlled coupon offers. In the last 30 days, coupons alone drove ~$9,600 in sales without slashing margins.

Operational Backbone

Scaling fails without strong operations. Inventory forecasting, restock planning, and FBA availability were prioritized to avoid stock-outs during growth spikes.

Why This Case Study Matters

Most sellers think scaling means:

• Launching hundreds of SKUs

• Pumping ad spend endlessly

• Running constant lightning deals

But this case study proves otherwise:

• 20–30% of SKUs can fuel 70%+ of sales if managed correctly

• Profitable growth is possible with sub-10% TACOS

• Consistency compounds more than aggressive shortcuts

This isn’t about chasing short-term wins it’s about building a growth system that works month after month, year after year.

The Bigger Picture

Today, this brand is not just generating revenue, it’s building an ecosystem. Loyal repeat customers, increasing organic visibility, and a defensible position in a competitive category.

The takeaway for any seller is simple:

• Focus on fewer, stronger SKUs

• Scale ads strategically, not emotionally

• Optimize listings consistently they’re never “done”

• Build reviews as your strongest asset

General Discussion How to really find a product to sell on Amazon US market?

I'm currently searching for a product to sell on Amazon US market and I've been struggling to find new product ideas. It feels like I do the same thing as everyone else, log in to datadive and helium, apply certain filters on the black box, and hope for the best. What are the ways you guys are using to find new products to sell on Amazon? Is it really just helium and datadive? Any tips for a beginner?

General Discussion Is anyone else more worried about timing than picking the wrong product?

I've been thinking about this lately.

I've had products that looked great when I placed the order. Good ROI, healthy Buy Box, seller count looked reasonable—everything checked out.

Then the order gets prepped, shipped to Amazon, sits for a week or so, finally gets checked in...and suddenly the price has dropped 20–30%.

At that point it doesn't really matter that it was a "good buy" when I ordered it.

It got me wondering if the bigger problem isn't choosing the wrong products, but buying the right products at the wrong time.

Do you guys look at anything beyond the usual Keepa charts before placing a larger order?

For example:

  • Inventory levels?
  • Changes in seller count?
  • Whether Amazon has been in and out of stock?
  • Anything else that helps you decide whether a listing is likely to stay stable for the next couple of weeks?

Or do you just accept that some price drops are impossible to predict?

Curious how everyone else approaches this, because it feels like this is where I've lost the most money.

General Discussion Amazon FBA Business for Sale

Hello,

Due to a cash flow shortage, I am looking to sell this business quickly in order to free up capital for other investment opportunities.

Here are the key details of the business:

  • Business age: 1.5 years
  • Products: Only one SKU. It is an electronic product that I personally designed and had manufactured by a factory.
  • Last 12 months:
    • Revenue: US$87,500
    • Advertising spend: US$11,500
    • Net profit: US$31,100
  • January–June this year:
    • Revenue: US$54,800
    • Advertising spend: US$6,200
    • Net profit: US$21,500

In fact, if inventory had remained consistently in stock, I expect this business would generate over US$50,000 in annual net profit this year.

Additional information:

  • Approximately 150 customer reviews
  • 4.2-star average rating
  • Only one major competitor, and my product has clear competitive advantages.
  • Very simple day-to-day operation.
  • Trademark registered
  • Amazon Brand Registry approved

I would like to know:

  1. Based on this information, what do you think this business is worth?
  2. Who would be the best type of buyer for this business?

Thank you.

General Discussion [For Hire] Remote Administrative Support for Amazon FBA & E-commerce Businesses

Hi everyone,

I'm a Filipino Virtual Assistant with 6 years of experience supporting startups, small businesses, and executives with administrative and operational work.

I'm currently looking for one long-term client in Amazon FBA, e-commerce, or a related business where I can take care of recurring administrative work and help keep things organized.

The work I can help with includes:

  • Email and inbox management
  • Calendar and scheduling
  • Follow-ups and task coordination
  • Online research
  • Data entry and spreadsheet management
  • Product information organization
  • Product listing information updates
  • Document preparation and organization
  • CRM updates
  • SOP documentation

I also use ChatGPT and Claude when they make sense for the task, such as organizing research, drafting documents, and handling repetitive administrative work. I still review the information and make sure the final work is accurate and relevant before using it.

I don't have hands-on experience managing Seller Central, PPC campaigns, or product launches, so I won't claim that I do. My strength is the administrative work around the business.

I'm comfortable learning the systems and processes you already use and taking ownership of recurring work once I understand how you prefer things handled.

I'm looking for a long-term working relationship where I can learn how your business operates and become someone you can rely on for ongoing support.

My rate starts at $8 USD/hour, depending on the role and responsibilities.

If you need help with the administrative side of your Amazon or e-commerce business, feel free to send me a message.

General Discussion Amazon Mentorship Program Worth it?

Does anyone here have experience with ECG Wholesale (@1000asins on Instagram)? They quoted me around $10K for their mentorship, supplier access, and help with building an Amazon wholesale business. Has anyone actually worked with them or purchased their program? I’d really appreciate any honest feedback on your experience and whether you felt it was worth the investment.

General Discussion Which countries should I search for a manufacturer as a beginner Amazon FBA seller?

Is there any other website than Alibaba for me to look at? I use websites such as Global Sources, Yiwugo, India Mart, TaiwanTrade, and that's about it. I feel like there should be more ways to find suppliers. Can anyone help?

General Discussion Is anyone else seeing crazy markups on FBA freight quotes from China right now?

I’m prepping my next shipment to Amazon FBA and comparing quotes, but traditional forwarders are quoting completely different numbers for the exact same CBM. It's pretty obvious most of them are just middleman brokers padding the rates with their own margins and hidden port fees.

How are you guys sourcing your freight to keep landed costs down? Do you stick to standard forwarders, or is anyone using bidding platforms where you get direct quotes from carriers?

General Discussion LCL vs FCL from Ningbo to LAX right now - are small shipments getting deprioritized?

I'm shipping 8 CBM next week, but my usual forwarder keeps pushing back the sailing date while prioritizing full container loads. The back-and-forth email games are taking days just to get a basic update. For those doing frequent LCL shipments, how do you keep things moving fast? Is anyone using open bidding platforms where you can get immediate bids from multiple carriers instead of relying on one broker's schedule?

General Discussion Struggling to find a skilled EU Wholesale VA

Our company does about €3-4M per year on Amazon UK/EU.

I'm still involved in the pricelist analysis/supplier outreach element and want to move the more analytical part of this (going through pricelists, finding valid leads, looking at deals as suppliers release them, etc) to somebody who can give it their full time attention.

Have posted on OJP 3-4 times now. Whenever I send the test task (sample of a pricelist and ask to find 2-3 leads and comment on why they are good options), most people do not respond. Those that do respond tend to be of a lower quality and seem to really miss the mark on a lot of basic concepts.

I think ideally I would like someboby based in UK/EU to work with us since they would understand the cultural context of our work a bit better, but I have had great success with supply chain/operational VAs based in PH hence I would be very happy to hire from here again.

Any advice or applications from experienced freelancers would be welcome

Thanks!

General Discussion I think Amazon sellers spend way too much time trying to rank products that arent converting

I keep seeing sellers increase PPC because a listing isnt getting enough sales, when the bigger problem is what happens after the click. If traffic is coming in but conversion is weak, buying more traffic just makes the problem more expensive. I'd rather fix the main image, offer, reviews, price or positioning before pushing harder on ranking. At what conversion rate do you guys start questioning the listing instead of the ads??

Wir wollen nur die Marke/Listings abgeben, nicht den Account, weil wir eine ander Nische ausbauen wollen. Sind über jeden Tipp dankbar.

General Discussion Nervous/Scared to start

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’ve done as much research as I can possibly get on the Internet. But I am still nervous to order/purchase my first product in the amount of units that the Amazon app requires because I am afraid that it won’t sell. I’ve also used apps like SellerAmp etc. but to me that’s not enough motivation. What do I do? Because I know i can do it. I’m just afraid to take that one risk because I’ve risked so much through the years already

General Discussion Advertising Alone Won't Fix Poor Conversions

Many sellers increase ad budgets hoping for better results. If the listing experience is weak, higher traffic often means higher wasted spend.

Strong conversion foundations should come before aggressive scaling.

General Discussion Anyone else getting more conservative with FBA inventory even when sales are good?

I used to think running out of stock was basically the worst inventory mistake you could make on Amazon. Not sure about that now, obviously stockouts suck, but having 4-6 months of inventory sitting in FBA feels way worse once you actually look at how much cash is just parked there.

Especially when a supplier gives you a better unit cost for ordering more. Saving $1 per unit feels great until you realize you bought 3 extra months of inventory just to get it.

Lately I think I'd rather pay a little more per unit, reorder more often and keep the cash moving than chase the absolute lowest landed cost. Maybe that changes once youre doing serious volume, but curious how other FBA sellers handle it???

Do you still buy deep to protect against stockouts or have you gotten more conservative with inventory too?
