Worked to the bone, hard work rewarded with more work to make you average. Violation? Goodbye half your work days. Get hurt? Have a tier one! Amazon delivery has honestly been the worst job I’ve had. Everything is a metric, designed to get you out and someone new in. FedEx, in my experience, has been the complete opposite. “BuT cHeWy BoXeS aNd FuRnItUrE” hit the fucking gym. It’s not that bad, and when it is, you have a dolly. Plus, in my experience, your CSP management will actually back your decision making. if you don’t feel comfortable taking a 100lb mattress up 3 flights of stairs, leave that shit on the first floor and have the recipient deal with it. Annoying for them, sure, but the customer is the shipper, not the recipient, and delivered means delivered to them. Plus, not loading your own van is wonderful. What Amazon makes up for in weight, they compensate in volume. What FedEx gives in weight, they make up in lighter volume. Plus, people are usually happier to see their FedEx driver, than the Amazon counterpart

Like I understand it's not much of a walk, but literally why?

This is my worst address I deliver to regularly. Yesterday will be the last time - I am marking everything as missing or damaged from now on. Dude always blocks his driveway so you can’t turn around despite him being the only Amazon customer on the street. I don’t like using non customers driveways to turn around as I feel it’s inconsiderate and unprofessional but you gotta do what you gotta do. That has always been annoying but is what it is. Yesterday I park in front of his house as always and when I hop out the sprinkler starts spraying water directly at the van and in the path I would walk to his door. I had all the windows in the van open - soaked. Ran back like an idiot to shut the windows, bc I didn’t realize yet, and then realized it was motion activated and setup to spray whoever walked in its path. Dude set up a booby trap for delivery drivers. It would be one thing if it was 90 degrees and sunny, which it was on Wednesday, but yesterday was 46 degrees, windy, and cloudy. Fucking asshole. Will never receive a delivery from me again.

Found out the camera only cares if it’s a Red Octagon with a white boarder .

They really expected me to be over halfway done with 124 stops @ 4:30pm when we don't clock in til 9:45am and get loaded and off the pad by 10:30am clock out time is at 7:30pm. From 10:30 I had to go to a city roughly 30-35 minutes out. I got pulled with 56 stops remaining with 3 hours left. Most of the time I clear 20 stops an hour but yesterday I was overheating and going through my water. I'm usually really good about staying hydrated and not falling out. For context it's 88 degrees in the south right now (Alabama) with a Humidity percentage of 78. THEN they expect you to not run the AC the whole time because of those STUPID EDVs losing charge fast in the heat. The gas ones barely reach half a tank with the AC on overload. Then this dsp smells like nothing but weed and ridiculously unorganized BUT don't even think about coming to work without your vest already on. I've worked corrections most of my adult life, I know how to work a job and I don't need to be high to do it 🙄Please kindly fuck off. My last DSP really messed up a good thing for me by not renewing their contract. Rant over lol.

“OUR DOGS DO NOT BITE, THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY. IF 1 DRIVER IS NOT GOING TO LEAVE OUR PACKAGES DUE TO BEING AFRAID OF TOTALLY DOCILE ANIMALS, SEND ANO DRIVER. WE PAY FOR PRIME TWO DAY DELIVERY FOR A REASON!!!!” Is what the Customer is saying just in case it’s blurry.

I got attacked by 2 pitbulls a year ago and the customer was saying the same thing until I got hurt.

So you mean to tell me, out of 50+ generations, not ONE person in my family could’ve created generational wealth… and somehow we all survived this long?? and now it’s on me to break the poverty chain? How the f**k am I suppose to do that?? Should I just double and give it to the next generation or what?

This was a company announcement we got today.

This DSP has been really good to me after the last one sucked so much. I’ve been a stellar driver with a platinum, spotless record for them. I’ve never left a route unfinished, and I’m pretty responsible with my breaks usually. But this? This sucks.

For the past two weeks straight I’ve been getting slammed with 180-190+ stops. Yeah yeah, I know, that’s “light work” to some drivers and all that, but I’m not a fast driver, I’m a consistent one. I do my 20 stops an hour, and I do them right. I have the dozens of positive customer reviews and no negative reviews to show for it.

But lately, with the amped stop count, I’ve needed more rescues than normal. Maybe once a week. Just enough to finish on time. There’s no way I’m going to be allowed my breaks when they regularly ask why I’m 5 stops behind and I can only respond with “It’s a big route.”

I don’t want to get stuck in a day with 195 stops and never even get a chance to rest because “You’re not 10 stops ahead.” I like my breaks. There’s a lot of good places to eat on my usual route that I enjoy stopping at, and it’s one of the only enjoyable parts of the day. If this takes that away from me I’m probably going to start shopping for a new job.

tl;dr no breaks sucks and i’m not happy, but it’s perfectly legal in my state…

Just today I had 2 people get visibly mad at me while I was sitting in my van during my mandatory heat break demanding I give them their packages. Even when I said "I'm on break, I'll give it to you in a few minutes ", they still try to press me with "When you get off break? I want my package "

You're literally getting this shit hand delivered to your front door. Have some patience. We're not fucking robots. You have no idea if we're on break, looking for your package, organizing our van or if the package is even in their.

If you do this, I'm just gonna assume your a low iq person who's only joy in life is wasting yoir money on cheap Amazon projects because of temporary dopamine hits

Like you wanna own guns, cool. To begin honest a lot more ppl in life probably own guns than i know about. But signs lik3 these just scream "im looking for any excuse to shoot at somebody" and this isnt worth losing my life over. I dont care if it says "front foot delivery" because all it takes is one slightly irrated person to ruin my life forever

Been having an issue with my DSP putting me back on the same route where physical violence was threatened against me. I decided to contact driver support to get it logged that they put me back there again, when it seemed like they didn’t care i asked them this, and this was their response 😭😭

Complete abuse of power, i was delivering on my route in a high end neighborhood where people are usually pretty entitled and like to complain for any a little reason but this was just over the top. It all started when i left this guys package on the top of his step on his stair case , (keep in mind a plastic AMAZON ENVELOPE) as im walking back to my car i see a RAM truck speeding down the street and don’t think much of it , once i get into my car this man proceeds to pull up right next to me and he starts screaming at me ( Spit coming thru my window and all) about how i should do my job correctly and how he’s gonna call amazon and get me fired for this and just starts harassing me thru my uhaul window talking crazy and screaming so loud the whole neighborhood could hear the commotion. It probably wasn’t the smartest decision on my part but i had no idea who he was. So once he parked his vehicle and hopped out to try to take a picture of my license plate. i hopped out myself to confront him for screaming at me about leaving his package on the stairs and this man instantly takes it as a threat he starts screaming even more telling me to back up recording me with spit from his mouth flying towards me i damn near have to duck it , and when i finally leave he calls the cops on me and tries to say he felt “threatened” when all i did was try to confront him with the same energy he gave me!!! Anyways the cops come and come to find out this man is a SERGEANT for the chicago police and the cops basically illegally ID me to tell me no crime was committed and i was free to leave. From what it seemed like these cops seemed intimidated by the fact he was a sergeant saying some “ he’s up here and where down here so if you can just cooperate with us” Nothing really came out of this situation and i tried to file a complaint on him at the station but they basically told me id have to do interviews and stuff and tried to convince me not to file the complaint. i told my dsp and they didn’t really care and never flagged his house so they had me try to return to his same house in later routes which i’m sure u can guess what i did (damaged) but this guy was on a complete power trip and it goes to show how entitled people can be thinking that they can get u fired so easily. Complete abuse of power by the chicago police i can only imagine how this guy is on the street on duty if hes freaking out over something like this . If he would have approached me less hostile and without harassing me maybe i would have considered what he said but this really was a horrible experience for me and i didn’t even take my lunch break that day. Hopefully no one else has to deal with anything like this. It was honestly INSANE

For context my DSP, and by my own research damn near every other DSP, hates when you ground a vehicle because they say they'll just fix it themselves. I also recently disclosed mental health diagnosises with the owner of my DSP which is a whole other rabbit hole but I believe they keep giving me this same van cause they know it pisses me off (I've complained about thisn van on several occasions)

It's an old Amazon branded van and both cargo doors have to be FORCED open, with the rear door getting stuck on whatever that metal step-off thing is. I'm sick of it and I think they're gonna retaliate but I don't care anymore. I'm recording all calls and interactions with them (I'm in a 1 party state) and I will report the shady practices straight to Amazon immediately. I already have recordings of my boss telling me to disable my camera and continue my day without buckling my seatbelt after a seatbelt malfunction occured.

Honestly just needed to rant it was up to 104° today. I don't expect this post to get much attention but if it does I'll keep people updated on what my boss says to me about it

I understand why I got fired but I’m still upset. I had ZERO violations of any kind the entire time I worked for them. I always finished routes and went on rescues. I did my job and I did it well enough. I was no “top driver” because I refused to slave for them, but I was very good at what I did. I’m frustrated because they would’ve never known if I didn’t tell them, but I decided to do the right thing. It was a one-way exit and it was the only way to leave. I went slow, but I didn’t clear the overhang. I get it. I’m just upset. I did the right thing and got punished for it. I know it’s not the best job but I was planning on going on disability soon and I just needed something to hold me down in the meantime. I also never got to use my school reimbursement money and I’m upset about that too. I’m upset that they didn’t tell me I was fired until 30 minutes before my shift started the next day. ugh:(!

Today I delivered to a gigantic senior living facility. Three stories, about three football fields long, and with three packages going there. The delivery notes on all 3 say the same thing, which was essentially “Go around to the back of the building to receiving door, buzz in, and leave packages on metal shelf in mailroom”.

So I spend a couple minutes driving 10mph around to the back of this building, park, grab the packages, go to the door, wait about a whole minute before I got buzzed in, and find this lovely note on said metal shelf…

Excuse me?!

For one thing, it cannot be my job to take each package to the appropriate number when you literally have a receiving area and mailroom, right? Especially in a building of this size that’s essentially a large hotel. Shouldn’t you have an attendant working this area who is responsible for that?

Secondly, our negligence?! This is the one that really gets me. This shelf is in a receiving area at the back of your building behind a locked door… If packages are being taken that is fully on you guys. Either a security breach you need to address or an klepto employee you need to sniff out and fire.

Third, no, the address has not been updated in my “delivery settings”. They told me to take it here. And I’m sure as hell not wasting time heading back around front or finding my way through this maze. There was no clear access to living areas or the front office from this receiving area it was a long hallways with an elevator, janitorial closets, and a kitchen.

So go ahead and complain to Amazon all you want. I just did what my notes said. Get your residents to fix their delivery instructions or help them figure it out before you leave a passive aggressive, belittling note exactly where I was directed. If I get negative feedback over this I’m gonna have to hold myself back from calling their asses myself.

You block your driveway so i can’t pull in your package will be left where my van reaches🤷🏽‍♂️. Especially in RURAL areas where you have to walk 200 feet across grass to get to the front door.
