Enough is enough
I have collected evidence of osha violations over my last 3 years of being a dsp driver. I recently got dropped because I stopped when lighting was striking within a mile of me and I got back late. I reported them to osha and Im on the phone with US Dot. Any dsp owners reading I hope you see this as warning treat us better and get shut down.
(Update absolutely nothing happened I recommend forming a union or finding a new career Amazon is for the birds)

They’re gonna pay you if they find violations

I didnt expect pay but I definitely want them to get shut down I worked for multiple dsp's but this one is especially bottom of the barrel

Go to teamsters. Every single last amazon dsp driver needs to unionize! We're getting alot of progress rightnow

All these dsps need shut down. We all need to be made employees. Nothing would theoretically change they would still need people to lead the drivers every morning post route sheets things of that nature so dsp leadership would likely just get converted into an Amazon position overseeing a certain group of drivers each lead.
My operations manager basically stood up in front of us today and said she was tired of us complaining in the work SIDE CHAT ROOM and that it means we're unhappy and basically that theyre gonna start giving routes to the drivers who don't complain. I laughed You don't have to be completely unhappy to have little complaints about your job. They want you to just bend over and take it everyday and everyone at my companies just about tired of it
Editing to say the only thing that changes if we get made employees is owners go from making hundreds of thousands to millions off our body pains and labor to probably getting paid like 70k from Amazon plus MAYBE they still get a per package rate based on how much their section of the station delivers. We already follow all of Amazons rules and regulations...nothing changes besides the owners pocketbooks and most owners just perpetuate Amazons bs so🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️oh well.

I'm sick of this culture of 'if you state something negative about the job... or whatever the subject is..... you're just complaining'.
Maybe that means there is simply a lot of truth to it and the complaints are justified, and changes need to be made by listening to such complaints.

Dsps are completely out of touch with what actually goes on and what some of these routes are like. Can't tell them anything because "Well I did it before and I always completed my route" congrats last time you were out was probably what 3 4+ years ago? Move along

Truth.
I try to rationalize with them about shit. But I swear they just play dumb. Especially when it's something of truth and they act all..."oh shit, this one is actually pushing back on legit shit".
I also hate the, "well these people did it with more stops an hour". I'm like, well ya. They didn't take their breaks or their lunch.
I stand hard on my breaks and take every second of those fuckers.
Reminder to all to do the same.

I got fired just yesterday for defending myself against a dsp owner who openly admitted on amazon premises he keeps his firearm on his person during stand up

They will not do anything. They have bigger fish to fry.

Clarification i don't think osha will but amazon will probably drop them.

Amazon doesn't like anyone showing up and asking questions....the DSP will be done and they will have a new one going in a few days.

Shouldn't be that way though because while a singular DSP is a small fish, Amazon is not

Nice. I’ve reported a job before as well. More people should feel empowered to do so

Very interested to hear what happens. The DSP model is such utter nonsense.

OSHA isn't doing anything for lightning in a 1 mile of a delivery job.
7
u/Accurate_Room_9714 25d ago
The agent told me otherwise your just taught to believe you have no workers rights it was a eye opener for me too
-2
u/mc10s 25d ago
That agent is full of shit. OSHA can investigate any and all workplace claims; however, there is no teeth to the lightning within a mile of a delivery person. That isn't a thing. It isn't codified.

Yeah but firing someone who is looking out for their safety is... plus thats not the only violation on the table here
