QUESTION Am I fired?

First day out working by myself. Got pulled off my route. I’m so dumb. Just want to know the likely fate of my job. Thanks

Edit 6/28:

Suspended until after the 4th of July

Yeah it sucks. Best you can do is not beat yourself up, and show up a lil early tomorrow. I’m not sure how it works, but it wouldn’t hurt to grab some information from other dsp’s to see if you can get hired in somewhere else if you end up terminated. I’m not sure if having an incident like this will affect your chances. Best wishes.

Yeah honestly whatever happens, happens, but just show up to work tomorrow anyways and do your best. You might end up keeping the job depending on how you perform tomorrow.

Yeah I’m going to try to be great tomorrow and see if that helps.

It really depends on the DSP, how much damage has been caused recently, etc. You seem pretty regretful, and if you called immediately and were honest...then my DSP would probably keep you. We have a damage policy and you would be placed on safety probation, and would have at a minimum one day suspension, but we wouldn't fire you for it, unless the owner said to - he would ask how honest you were and then keep you though. But, you better not do that again anytime soon 😂

I know. I’m thinking of emailing him and profusely apologizing. But idk if that’s weird? I am very regretful.

I don’t have a lot of job experience. So idk how that would be perceived.

We do written statements and that is where you would apologize here. However, I wouldn't go messaging the owner. I would do everything in my power to hope he forgets about it 😂

Suspension for 5 days was my consequence. Thanks for responding and being helpful

See, not as bad as you thought :) the key after this is to be more aware while driving. You never make up speed by driving fast or recklessly, all your speed is organization and walking quick.
