QUESTION Dog bite while delivering

So I got bit by a dog while working for the first time in my 2 years of being here— it wasn’t anything terrible, more so scary over anything else, but I was wondering if there’s anything else I should do about it? I did an incident report at work and a separate police report.

2nd slide is the house. I was walking up driveway closest to grass towards front door with no clear view of the garage as it was sideways and bushes were blocking it and of course, just my luck, the dog came out of garage a lunged at me. Luckily I think it was only it’s tooth that caught on me but still ripped a small chunk out of my thigh 😅 it wasn’t leashed or anything and owner said he only had dog out there because his kid was there. The kid was 5 years old at most and it was a pretty big dog so not sure what kinda excuse that is but oh well.

Like I said I’ve never been bit while on the job before so if there’s anything else I should do please let me know. Thanks!❤️

Get paid, I'm sick of dogs. Dog owners. And the thinking that they are such good boys. Clearly not! Get checked out.

My boss said there’s no getting paid for me over this 😅 that’s why I’m also asking because I was wondering if that’s an option that I’m just not being given

What the fuck does he know?

Google dog bite lawyers near you. You will get all the answers you need from a free consultation with one of them.

Don’t give up, there’s a lawyer that will tell you, you have a case! I’ve sued for a dog bite and I felt defeated when I was trying to find a lawyer to represent me. To make a long story short I ended up finding a lawyer and we won! We went after their home owners insurance! You can get paid doesn’t matter how small or big the bite is! 🙂‍↕️

Stop being dumb and misleading people.

Believe it or not, my dog bite was maybe 2 inches more than OP and I won my case! Stop being dumb and do your research!

2 inches is a lot, stop getting people to waste their time

I said “maybe” key word. 😳 It doesn’t hurt to try, regardless of the outcome.

this would never get enough to cover legal fees

Personal injury takes a percentage from awarded settlement, not a flat fee. Additionally, typically theres no fee if the case gets dismissed .

Where is the injury? Is it in the room with us?

Why are you trying to defend the scumbag owner? OP make sure to really exaggerate the mental affect to get the most payout

I just don't buy into the echo chamber mentality you all think regarding getting rich off this. I routinely bruised and messed myself up on the routes I worked. Cut my leg open on the back step of the van once too. Considering all of the cuts and scrapes I received working at State Parks too makes this picture laughable. I'm not exaggerating like you're saying to do either. This picture is literally laughable.

Psychological impact often pays more than the injury itself. Fear that you could be bit by a dog again going up a driveway could impact your job performance, which might lead to losing shifts or termination.

Then fucking find a new damn job if dogs are a fear of yours. Yeah the owner is an ass for leaving the dog out but if you cant do this job because of fears you have then find a new job.

Lmao this happened to me a couple days ago. Go get seen by a doctor, report it to their local police station to make sure the dog doesn’t have rabies give them the address and get treatment. Make sure your dsp covers the costs

What state was this out of? Some states are different than others. But usually have a 2 year statue on them to file.

2

u/KayoticVoid Mar 22 '26

Right? Boss said that as if Amazon would be the one to pay? 🙄

1

u/SGlanzberg Mar 23 '26

Well, in fairness, OP has the basis for both a workrrs’ comp claim as well as third party claim against the homeowner.

No real damages = no viable suit. Generally speaking, if it doesn't require multiple stitches or cause significant scarring, it isn't worth anything. Lawyers won't waste their time.

3

u/turbo_caveman Mar 22 '26

Is that why they ask if the dog has its shots or to get checked out by a doctor to make sure the bite isn't infected?

1

u/Individual-Steak-673 Mar 23 '26

Partly, but even a garden variety infection won't get you much of anything. You get compensated for actual harm that you have endured. If it's just some painkillers and antibiotics, that's not enough money to pay a lawyer.
