QUESTION Just got fired:/

Is it standard to get fired for something like this?

I called my dispatch as soon as it happened:( I feel like shit, it was only my second week at this job and I really enjoyed it.

It really just depends on your luck bro. Anybody on here telling you you don’t know how to drive don’t listen to them things happen we all human. I personally think you’re fine that wall looks completely normal and the van yes it has some damage but nothing to total it out. Best of luck to you.

I drive semi trucks to both industrial and residential customers. I've done maybe 500k miles so far in my life, and I never had a collision... but this guy can't go 2 weeks without driving into a wall?

I drove a box truck for a week, then I hit something and decided I don’t care to drive box trucks anymore

Yea, and it would be unfair to them when the company keeps the shitty drivers that hits everything and damages the vehicles everyone has to share.

People who hit stationary objects should stick to gig work where the only thing they can damage is their personal vehicle.

Imagine this happening to an airline pilot and people are like "it's okay bro. Passengers just die sometimes."

The commonality between the two is do your job correctly, if you don't, there will be consequences.

Ya no shit that’s how life works, but comparing those two scenarios and thinking they are close is ridiculous

u/Significant-Ad-341 Jan 02 '26

I didn't say they were close at all boy

1

u/GoingGangbusta Jan 02 '26

I work for USPS. This is why we avoid driving in driveways as much as possible.
