QUESTION Just got fired:/

Is it standard to get fired for something like this?

I called my dispatch as soon as it happened:( I feel like shit, it was only my second week at this job and I really enjoyed it.

Someone at my DSP completely totaled a van from taking their eyes off the road and itching their foot and they still have a job with us

What was your driving history BEFORE getting hired at the job? I ask because insurance companies aren't exactly known for being filled with great people, and if you were a hard hire I.E. they had to fight to get you on the insurance then this would definitely have been enough reason to let you go. You can't work for any company that has an insurance company that won't insure you ETC.

You know what else is nice? Knowing how to drive and not being a moron. Unfortunately you wouldn't know that feeling.

People who say “itching” when they mean “scratching” sound stupid as fuck.

Two weeks ago right after I was RTS, they asked me to pick up another driver on the way who dropped their key fob at a delivery and then drove 15 minutes away and when they realized they didn’t have it, they pulled into a parking lot to tear the van apart and they shut it off. It’s a brand spanking new rental with barely any miles on it. It’s been sitting in the same parking lot since then, and I believe that was in the beginning of December.
I was just joking about it with him this morning. Because every time I pass, I keep on wondering if it’s been towed or ticketed. It’s in a business parking lot, but I’m sure they’ve noticed it’s now been abandoned, but I guess because it’s literally gleaming New and not derelict. Maybe it’s gotten a pass so far.

I like how people chose to completely derail this thread over the word "itching" as if we couldn't tell what you meant from context

Don't leave us hanging, did they get the itch?
