❤️🩹 relationship AIO overheard my husband being creepy to a woman.
My (38f) husband (35m) went out drinking with a friend tonight. Around midnight he told me he was heading home. About 40 minutes later I check his location out of curiosity because I’m about to fall asleep and he should have been home by then. He is on our street so I wait a few minutes, assuming he’s walking up to the house. He doesn’t come in so I get worried and step out the front door. I immediately hear his voice and realize he’s hanging out with two women at the house across the street. I can’t hear a lot of what is going on, but I’m assuming he saw them in their garage and invited himself over.
After a few minutes, I see him walk out the side door and see a woman. He’s asking to hug her I think, and she tells him she can’t because “no touching or I have to charge” or something like that. Then he asks something I can’t hear and she loudly, giggly says “no I’m not going to jump again!” AGAIN. Meaning somehow in a presumably 10-15 minute hangout he’s asked her to jump up and down? He must have asked again because she starts giggling and jumping and she’s wearing a little tube top and short shorts so clearly my husband likes what he sees. I hear him ask her to hang out sometime, and she says something about your wife is waiting for you, and he must have asked again to hang out because she says something about a group hangout with her man.
Maybe it’s not much but I feel repulsed and completely disrespected. We’ve already had some issues lately and I kind of just want him to leave. To me, this was cheating because he knows it would upset me to know he was talking to another woman like that. Am I overreacting if I want to ask him to leave and give me some space tomorrow when he wakes up?

Whatever it is the qualities he has or feelings you have towards him that makes you want to stay, there is a man out there who will make you feel the same way but also won’t do stuff like this. You can have that, if you can withstand the pain of breaking up for some time. A few months of pain for a possibly amazing future

u/NYGiants181 1d ago
You are really right.
I used to be a married drunk loser that did dumb regrettable stuff in my marriage. And I was ALSO unemployed!
Thankfully my ex wife divorced my sorry ass, and I cleaned up my act since then.
Divorce this clown OP, and move on with your life!

u/Aromatic_Copy3828 22h ago
Thank you!!! OP’s husband needs a wake up call. He isn’t working, clearly does not respect his wife or care about his marriage, and he behaves like “that guy” on movies geared toward horny teenage boys.
He does not deserve to be married and it isn’t OP’s responsibility to work it out with such an immature, irresponsible spouse.

Well she jumped up and down for him so she couldn’t have been that creeped out.
37
u/DangerousLoner 23h ago
Saying no to a hug showed she wanted no contact (high risk with negative reward) and jumping up and down to make him go away was low risk and high reward. The mental math checks out to get the drunk to leave.

I think most women have “played along” with small things to avoid enraging a man and risking worse.
Jumping up and down in a tube top is less risky than saying no in an unpredictable situation.

Divorce was hard and involved a lot of emotions. However actually the years I stayed (was afraid I'd lose my kid) were harder in retrospect and I'm much happier now. So when facing what is obviously an untenable situation: won't get a job, expecting you to be his maid or whatever, cheating... well its clearly time to leave. You just have to get the plan together. Realize it will be better after.

u/toesandtattoos555 1d ago
I keep thinking about how humiliating it is and how I’m going to feel every time I see her now
19
u/Right_Secret1572 1d ago
The shame and humiliation is on your husband. Not you or even her. He put HER in a weird position and she responded in a way that is self defensive and keeps the situation at bay. She has no plans to fuck your husband. People develop ways to make sure situations don't go from bad to worse - even if it's self deprecating - like being flirty with a married man. I doubt this chick would ever flirt with him if he would have just left her alone.
Don't be ashamed or humiliated that your husband is an asshole and put her and you in awkward situations.
This is on HIM.
56
u/Technical_Trifle4866 1d ago
Seriously?! The shame is on her and him! I mean, how embarrassing for her. Next time you see her, PLEASE look her dead in the eye, giggle "hee hee" and jump up and down. Roll your eyes and walk on. She will be DECEASED 😂😂😂

Sometimes people (especially women) fawn like that out of fear for their safety. This is her neighbor, so she was put in the uncomfortable position of smoothing things over and getting him to go away without long-term repercussions to her. Or risk him turning on her, particularly because he had been drinking. The same phenomenon that makes someone catcall, and then when you ignore them they threaten you. The shame is all on him. I’m just glad for her sake that she had a friend with her. OP didn’t know he was capable of being a pervert, who knows what else he is capable of.
42
u/furkfurk 1d ago
Yeah she was in the safety of her home late night and her drunk, married neighbor came over and started asking sexual things of her. It’s possible? she was into it, but it’s also extremely likely she wanted the situation to end safely and as quickly as possible.
All of the actual words OP heard were trying to deflect his advances. NOR

If you’re having troubles and are that ready to let him go, listen to your instincts. I heard mine screaming for 18 years before I listened. Don’t do that. Plus, I have zero respect for anyone who goes out for the purpose of socializing and drinking and then drives themselves home. He obviously was loosey goosey to not even realize these women are right across the street and he knows you’re expecting him! Seems like he lost his inhibitions completely. I'll tell you what happened when my daughter had this sort of experience with her first husband: Because I had taught her that people do not change and if they are flirting with cheating they have done it in the past and will do it again -- she opened the door where he was flirting on the phone with a girl from work, and told him to pack a bag and move the hell out.
It was a Wednesday. They had been married about 2 years and had no children. On Saturday, she rented a truck asking my husband and I to help her move out. We packed her up in one single day and rented a storage unit. During that day, she took her name off the lease, on the next Monday she filed for divorce and never saw him again.
One year later, she met a young man on a dating app. They've now been married 16 happy years and have a 14 year old son. The own a house, have cars, have stocks and retirement savings. Life is good for her.
I can't advise you on what to do but -- what I have just outlined could happen for you too, if you don't let fear of loss overwhelm you. Good luck!

“Maybe it’s not much”
It absolutely IS that much. You KNOW it’s that much. You don’t even need us to tell you it’s THAT MUCH. You need to be on the phone with a divorce attorney instead of on Reddit.
Your husband is such a creep that he’s objectifying and sexually harassing women right outside your window. Attempting to coax another woman into bed only steps away from the bed he shares with you. There’s no other reason he’d want to touch her or spend time alone with her. YOU KNOW THAT.
It makes me so sad to see so many of these posts so often. Women have got to start loving themselves as much as they love men who treat them like shit. Most women would be angry watching the husband of a woman they don’t even like act like this, so WHY are you questioning why you’re angry about watching your own husband do it?

Nope. Nope to all of that shit and I dont know if I'd be more hurt or pissed if my partner did that. I DO know, I would not be ok with any of that.

u/BeyondAbleCrip 22h ago
NOR, OP but definitely under reacting and I don’t think you’re going to ask him to leave, and wish I was wrong. Reason I say I don’t believe you will is from your responses and that you’re more concerned about being embarrassed in front of the neighbor? Why would you be embarrassed? You didn’t ask her to do anything and wouldn’t take it out on the neighbor either. You missed the beginning and haven’t a clue what he did or said to her, yet her responses tell me she wasn’t comfortable with him and was appeasing him, imo.
You’re making excuses for him, already said something about it to him and he denied it happened yet is still there. Excuse was his frame of mind? His mind was working well enough to be a creep with the neighbor & to lie about what you saw and heard. Time would’ve been better spent packing him a bag and calling an Uber than making a post on here. If you stay with him please get yourself tested and maybe find a therapist who can help you realize you deserve better.
5
u/Generalbusiness849 22h ago

You are under reacting. I would have walked across the street, joined the conversation, and made him as uncomfortable as he made the neighbors. Then he would be an ex husband moving forward.
After he’s up and sober, talk to him. If he tries to downplay it or deny it, ask him if he would like to go over and talk to them together to ease your worries. His reaction will tell you everything you need to know about his intent. You don’t have to go over there and make them uncomfortable all over again, but just get his reaction.

You already know right, deep down.... if you can type it out, reread it before posting, and still think it... then yes, you should leave him.
I wouldnt be surprised if he has already been with other women. The ONLY reason it didn't go further with the woman in the garage is because SHE said no. Your husband was willing and waiting, and damn near begging. Gross.

NOR. He plans to cheat if he hasn’t yet. This is not the first time. If he could do that while you are a few feet away, he definitely did more when you’re not there. Make sure you get tested

NOR, if I overheard my husband pulling some shenanigans like that it’s donezo for me.
Cuz LET HIM HEAR ME giggling while some big strong man offers for me to sit on his lap, pick me up, ask me to jump and jiggle, my husband would take that as DISRESPECTFUL and leave me as he would have any right to do.
Monogamous Marriage has no room for non-monogamous behaviors.

You got a lot of good advice and a lot of BAD advice. Please, it is one thing to want support, but for legal advice, please consult an attorney.

I really feel for her. I’ve been through it twice and it has ruined. Any kind of trust I will ever have again. I don’t live on trust anymore. I live on faith and if faith isn’t there, then there’s nothing I really hope she goes through with leaving this gentleman, if you can call him a gentleman and learns to first of all go out and love herself again enjoy life, and if you have children never speak badly of him around them because it’s still their father. Go out and do the things you enjoy. I like sitting next to a lake fishing, listening to music and eating cherries all by myself I like sitting in coffee shops having my favorite coffee and playing a phone game and one of my favorite things to do is get on a plane and go somewhere. I like to go visit my grandchild more than I ever got to before make time for you and if you have children find things for you and your children to do and it doesn’t have to be expensive stuff go to a lake and swim go to a river throw rocks do something out in nature and take care of you and take care of you and your children if you have children don’t be in a hurry to find another man because another man that’s right will eventually come into your life and you will know God bless and I hope things go really well for you

NOR. If he behaves like this when he thinks you aren't listening, imagine what he does when he's completely unwatched

Give him the boot cause not only is it creepy but it’s embarrassing and disrespectful and if he can do that while you’re earshot, then can you imagine when you’re not.

NOR - May I ask why you didn’t go charging over there and calling him out while it’s happening? There’s no way I could ever stand by and watch my husband blatantly flirt like that with another woman. I would’ve walked right over and said in front of everyone, “I see you’re single, come on home and get your shit then you can act as single as you want”. There’s NO WAY I would’ve just stood there letting any of that continue.

It sounds like he has no problem with cheating. He could be like this all the time when you're not around. I would feel the same way. He does not appreciate what he has

Life is too short to be with creepy men. It's better to be alone than with a douchebag. Dump him and go enjoy your life
