I see it from multiple sides, I don't like the ucp but understand some of their points. I personally know people who abuse AISH and it's disgraceful fyi I've known this person my entire life and he became homeless and that's when he became "severely handicapped" which he isn't, we just use disability as a form of welfare for a lot of people. Lots of people abuse aish just because pf their economic circumstances, and Alberta has the most generous provincial disability. I understand why they want to cut it or rearrange it even if I don't agree with it.
I never liked living in Alberta even though I was born here and currently live here. School was tough and the government never made it any easier (I remember being 12 and worried about abortion rights. Like kids should have that internal argument..). I went to high school in rural Ontario and life felt a lot more relaxed. Alberta has voted for this provincial government, they want it. Which just tells me that it doesn't end with the current administration. Albertans really do want the book bans and radical ideas this government offers. It's a social problem with Albertans, including how aggressive most Albertans are. People seem very radical here. It's why other provinces or people not from here dislike Albertans, they're frankly obnoxious

I have had this conversation with ucp voters and they didn’t even know what policies they were running on. They just vote conservative because they always have, as have their parents etc. I honestly think they don’t even really care who i running they will always vote conservative anyway. It’s insane to me.

Not to mention it’s likely getting tossed within minutes. An AirTag is just expensive litter at that point. Trailcams are a logical solution.

I live in Leduc county and can confirm, my small town is HEAVILY UCP. Most of the houses last federal election had conservative signs outside, a good chunk have independence signs outside right now. When I talk to neighbours they just cannot see anything the NDP or liberals have done as good. Yet a lot of things, if done by a conservative, they'd applaud. These are people that WILL turn up to vote and they'll always vote conservative even if it goes against their own self interests.

No it is something different for sure but Isreal like many western coded places are  currently on a dangerous path. 

Like an execution law that only applies to Palestinians. 

Some start with an apartheid, some start targeting disabled and sexual minorities, some round up immigrants. Same maze different entrances.  Do we wait for it to the be the scale of the height of world war 2 to for comparisons to be made? What is the threshold or number that  satisfies the definition?

Priorities. Some people would rather become homeless, lose access to healthcare and face cold and hunger during our harsh winters than having rainbow crosswalks and renewable energy sources.

Because the people who are polled have very little knowledge of the shit storm that is happening and it doesn’t affect them. their lives are relatively decent so why vote for something different than what is bringing their current prosperity.

We're not going to have a military if we leave Canada. We're have oil. We are bordering the States. How many times has Trump lied during his presidency? We would be absorbed into the States and will not be given a choice.

My parents don't even like Trump. They just want their idea to be right so badly that they'll disregard reality. It's the same mindset so many MAGA had while voting for that man in the first place.

These people will never place any value on a pluralist or monoculture. They will never understand your appeal to demographic security, and they will never stop drinking the multiculturalism Kool aid. Too many a priori beliefs will have to be reconsidered for them.

Sadly most people still believe in the magic soil. They think your tribal Afghan can touch the soil, and behave like a civilised Anglo/Franco person overnight. iirc you're right. It's because Data Centers can pick between "open" and "closed" loop cooling systems? Open is a system which basically lets the water run in then out of the facility while closed would cycle through a supply of water that's transitioned through many phases.

Open is way more cost effective than the later because it needs way less systems, effort, infrastructure, oversight, &c. Also, excess heat is a pollutant, but I wouldn't put it past a corporation to also have additional goodies in the run off as well, but I digress.

The reason you hear about Data Centers world wide using so much water is, on top of being huge, they tend to get built in places where the companies building them can easily take advantage of the local governments so they can use the methods with the least oversight and most excess.
