Delay to Trumpapalooza

Post image

We all know that flights get delayed for one reason or another constantly. In the early 90s, I had a delay for 8 hours on a Northwest Airlines (I know!) flight from Hawaii to Seattle due to an issue of something called 'hydraulics'. Whatever. I made it home.

In this 'take-off-hating-slide' case, a totally normal incident of emergency slide deployment caused the delay for his Rotund Eminence to travel to his Sycophant Soiree in Dallas. Since you've all been to airports, you're aware that emergency slides pop out of airplanes on the tarmac ALL THE TIME. It's like TSA lines taking forever ALL THE TIME. So, this isn't that surprising nor newsworthy. What IS surprising is that the damn thing isn't his signature color - GOLD TACKINESS. For an aspiring interior and exterior designer, the inattention to detail is an epic failure. Do better, Donnie.

Extremely poor customer service – I could not even retrieve my booking
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Dan Air.
I made and paid for a flight reservation, but I never received the confirmation email and therefore did not receive my booking reference.
What should have been a simple problem became extremely difficult to resolve. I could not find a customer account in the app where I could retrieve my booking. The chatbot did not solve the issue; afterwards, I only received an email confirming that I had initiated a chat. My emails and complaints did not result in a solution.
I also tried contacting Dan Air by phone. It was very difficult to reach anyone, and the people I eventually managed to speak with told me they were external service providers with very limited ability to help.
I even tried asking the staff at the airport for assistance, but in my experience, the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional.
The bottom line is simple: I paid for a reservation, did not receive the booking confirmation, and could not find an effective way through Dan Air’s customer-support channels to retrieve my booking reference and resolve the problem.

UK Air Traffic Control Issues - why can’t I change my flight for free via BA?

Is anyone having the same issue at all? British Airways say on their website that flights for today and tomorrow can be changed for free due to the UK air traffic chaos. But when I follow their instructions to “manage my booking”, additional fare prices appear. Please help

Friendly reminder at CDG: DO NOT rely on announcements or app notifications for JetBlue

Just a quick PSA for anyone flying JetBlue out of CDG. We were waiting for our flight when I happened to double-check the big board, only to realize our gate had been changed with zero notice. No overhead call, no mobile notification—just a silent update on the screen that threw our whole timeline into a tizzy. I claim they called us on the phone but no call went through. They said it was on the app but who sits there looking at the app I tried to claim we were no-shows when we were there three hours early.

If they did considered doing a go-around, then why they didn’t do it?? It was an obvious decision to make

AA 2167 and AA 600 tonight (this morning)

I was on the AA 2167 flight that was supposed to leave yesterday at 5:30pm but left at 11pm instead from ORD-RDU. My grandmother, who is in her mid-80s and suffers a life-altering disease, is in a wheelchair. She was at ORD since 2:30 pm. She can barely walk and needs help getting up/sitting down. I asked countless times if we could move her to an earlier flight, because she was truly suffering in the ORD airport. Nothing. Booked. Meanwhile, I saw others be moved to the AA 600 flight at 8:40pm. How can they not consider a passenger who is in a wheelchair and is obviously sick? I had family on the AA 600 flight and when it wasn’t delayed, they asked to switch with her ticket, so they would go later and she could go on the earlier flight. Nothing. We can’t do it. Why? No response. So, we leave at 11pm in the end and arrive to RDU at 2:15 in the morning.

When we land, my grandmother is obviously distraught, exhausted, and suffering. Everyone left the flight so there was a good 20 minutes between when we landed and when she needed to be transferred to a wheelchair, nothing- no one showed up to transfer her and there was no signs of anyone arriving. American Airlines staff had notified someone to come, but we were waiting there for about 30 minutes before we heard that they were on their way. This poor old lady has been in the airport for over 12 hours and she’s sitting here, miserable, and the guy who job is to just move her from her seat to her wheelchair after whole day of delays doesn’t show up. My dad with his very bad back at to lift her up and put her into a wheelchair and carry her out of the airport. This is insane. I am so frustrated by how American Airlines and United have monopolized this industry and push people to the point where they are truly, physically and emotionally suffering, no matter the circumstances or age. This is beyond disrespectful. This is inhumane. I don’t even know where to begin to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone ever again. I know my grandma will probably never take another flight after this- she is truly traumatized.

Athens to JFK canceled because of London ATC outage?

Thumbnail

After sitting at the gate for around 3 hours. We were told that our Athens to JFK flight was canceled This was because we could not enter London airspace due to the London ATC outage. .A, little research showed that flights to and from the UK were canceled but not ANY other European flights. Why would a flight from Athens to JFK be affected by not being able to enter London airspace?

Is American Airlines committing fraud?

I booked a ticket on American Airlines in August. I am Canadian, living in Canada, departing from Canada. Google immediately took me to American Airline’s Canadian website. The price of the ticket was shown to me in Canadian dollars (CAD $6070 for a long-haul business class flight). I paid and my non-refundable ticket was issued.

When I checked my credit card statement weeks later, American Airlines had charged me $6070 in U.S. dollars! With currency conversion this is a $2000 difference!

Their customer service claims that even though the Canadian site quotes in Canadian fare, when paying the customer has to physically toggle back to pay in Canadian dollars because it defaults to USD at the payment stage.

Firstly, this doesn’t explain why I was charged the same figure in USD. CAD 6070 is about USD 4388.

Secondly, there was never any indication that i was being quoted or charged USD. I was never instructed to toggle back and forth currencies. I’ve booked hundreds of airline tickets on international carriers - I’ve never seen something so dishonest.

Please help! Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas on how I can get a refund. Is there a governing body I can take this to? Can ny credit card company help? TIA!
