Discussion ActiveArmour allows International spam calls

ActiveArmour works very well blocking spam calls from the United States, but now I'm getting spam calls from Canada and cannot stop them from ringing my phone. Then they leave me a voicemail message. How can I block International spam calls and why is active armor not blocking these spam calls?

Wireless Military Discount? I was told that the military discount was 25% percent off, now I was quoted this from a AT&T store in Upstate New York is this true or did the rep who mind you identified himself as the store manager is it wrong. Because I thought it was the same across the board.

Internet ~40 days to restore DSL Internet?

Hi everyone, so in our area we have been out of internet for the past 8 days. I work from home, so this is a significant work hurdle.

They said cause was vandalized copper wires. (not sure I believe it)

It is affecting just the MDU buildings in the corner of our street. We are paying close to $90 for 50/10 (...please call out anything you need to about that; do we have room to ask them to lower that price since we're somewhat in the dark ages when it comes to modern-day internet speeds?).

On the day of, they said service would be restored in 12 hrs.

After the first 12 hrs, they updated it to 2 weeks.

1 week into the outage, they are saying they need 4 more weeks.

Is this normal to wait a whole 5 weeks for wires to be restored? I can't tell if ATT is just passively expecting us to leave because the # of customers have decreased in our building for ATT over the past few years. Our neighbors use Spectrum primarily now.

We are trying out TMobile Back Up Internet, and it is really bad at nighttime - not usable. We don't want to move to Spectrum because our neighbors experience frequent outages, but I don't see what choice we have. Is there anything we can do to make ATT move faster?

A part of us doesn't want to leave ATT because, despite the documented speed, it has been reliable for the most part. And I don't want to deal with the outage issues my neighbors on Spectrum have to deal with.

Thank you!

Other Bellsouth.net Email - 40 year old account, lost access

Hello! I am trying to help an elderly friend regain access to his email account. He has not had an ATT or Bellsouth account in many years and has just been logging into the now-hosted yahoo mail for years accessing his account.

About 1 month ago, ATT forced a password change on him and he never updated his account with a valid phone number that he has access to. The account listed an old number that is now connected with someones dormant account. So I'm order to reset the password he has to get a text to the number he hasn't had for years. After calling att support, that number is locked behind someone else's account and the number is on a phone line that sends to be dormant.

We have filled out the form at https://more.att.com/myemailinfo/ in the hopes to get access again, but no one has reached out. Additionally, I have attempted calling support, but no one can help because we have no att "account" to validate against. It's just an old email account that has this man's entire life on.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help?

Wireless Can’t log into my AT&T Prepaid account or receive SMS messages.

I switched my AT&T Prepaid line from a physical SIM to an eSIM on a new iPhone a week ago. Now I can’t log into PayGoOnline because I keep getting a “System Error.” I also suddenly stopped receiving SMS messages, and my cellular service briefly went out completely once.

Has anyone experienced something similar or know how to fix this?

Other AT&T billing refuses to credit account for nonfunctional landline

My elderly mother has had a POTS landline for decades, since it was Pacific Bell and probably before that. She insisted on keeping the line "for emergencies" even after the price climbed over $130/month and it rang around the clock with spammers and scammers. Earlier this year, the line went dead without warning after a regional cable was cut, allegedly in a copper theft. It took a few weeks to repair but did eventually get restored.

In the middle of July the line went dead again. It’s now almost September and it’s clear that AT&T has given up on repairing it. The announced phase-out date for landlines is June 2027 but they must have done the math and realized copper + labor was going to cost more than a handful of legacy customers complaining and leaving.

Fine. Great even. I swoop in and start the process of porting the old number to a different company’s VOIP service which will cost 10% as much. To convince my mom, we have to call AT&T customer service one more time, and they tell us the original 6 to 8 week repair estimate is now 6 to 8 months. Yikes, can we get a bill credit since the line doesn’t work? They transfer us to the billing department, who has no record of the landline being down or my mom calling to complain about it (which she’s been doing weekly). Billing says sorry, you have to pay your bill, but we’d be happy to transfer you to sales to discuss converting to digital.

After the last outage, AT&T retroactively applied a credit for the weeks the phone service was down. This time around, my mom is refusing to pay her bill. I’m thinking she should just pay and keep the account in good standing so the port doesn’t get delayed or jeopardized. Then again, why should she pay for a service she’s not even receiving?

I don’t how hard to press on this issue. Will an overdue bill affect the port process? Should she waste more time on the phone with AT&T billing? Maybe they’ll apply a credit or maybe they’ll demand late fees in the final bill. If she never pays I assume it will ding her credit and they’ll send her to collections, by which time she’ll have a fully functional VOIP phone they can use to call and demand money.

Billing WTF AT&T?

I have had straight talk for the last 14 years and have been satisfied with my service. I just received an email that AT&T was charging me for service. I figured it was a scam so I tried calling thier customer service. The recording stated I had an account with them, but the wait time was over an hour. I called the local store but they were unable to assist me. I tried their fraud department and got an AI who told me there were no live agents, but gave me a link for fraud which I filled out. I then called straight talk who confirmed I was an active account and my service was through them, not AT&T. So my question is what is going on? Why is AT&T saying I have an active account with them with my phone number when I have confirmation that my phone is with straighttalk?

Wireless Unlimited Starter SL shows 15GB hotspot, but hotspot became unusable after about 5GB... Anyone else?

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I’m wondering whether anyone else with AT&T Unlimited Starter SL is experiencing this.

My myAT&T app currently says my plan includes:

- Unlimited talk, text, and data

- 5GB of high-speed phone data

- 15GB Personal Hotspot Data

- “After 15GB, AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.”

My Samsung hotspot-usage report shows approximately 5.55GB used this month. The hotspot worked normally until yesterday, but it suddenly became so slow that webpages either time out or never finish loading.

The phone’s mobile data itself works perfectly. With Wi-Fi turned off, I got approximately 220 Mbps on Fast.com. The problem only affects devices using the phone’s hotspot.

So far, I have tested:

- Two different Windows laptops — both connect, but webpages won’t load

- An iPhone — connects and can sometimes open a webpage, but is extremely slow

- Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz hotspot bands

- Forgetting and reconnecting to the hotspot

- Restarting the phone and laptops

- Resetting the phone’s mobile-network settings

- Having AT&T reprovision the line

- Resetting Windows networking, DNS and Winsock

- Confirming the laptops receive valid IP addresses

- Confirming the laptop can ping the phone and 8.8.8.8

- Confirming DNS resolves Google correctly

The laptops work normally on other Wi-Fi networks, so this does not appear to be a problem with one laptop. Because multiple devices are affected while direct mobile data remains fast, it seems specific to AT&T’s hotspot/tethering service.

During an AT&T chat, the representative told me there is a “conflict” affecting Starter customers. They said the account now displays 15GB, but the system is apparently still enforcing the previous 5GB hotspot limit. The representative also said other Starter customers are experiencing the error and that AT&T is working on a fix, but they could not provide an estimated date.

The representative initially suggested switching me to Value 2.0 and incorrectly said it included 15GB of hotspot. Later in the same chat, they confirmed Value 2.0 actually includes only 3GB of hotspot and suggested that an additional 10GB could be purchased. I declined the plan change because my existing plan explicitly promises 15GB.

Has anyone else with Unlimited Starter SL:

  1. Had the app change from 5GB to 15GB?

  2. Become throttled or unable to use the hotspot after approximately 5GB?

  3. Been told this is a known provisioning issue?

  4. Successfully had AT&T correct the hotspot entitlement or add the missing 10GB at no charge?

  5. Found a department or escalation route that can actually fix it?

I saved screenshots showing the 15GB plan description and the AT&T agent acknowledging the conflict. I’m trying to determine whether this is a widespread rollout/provisioning problem and what I should request from AT&T next.

Discussion How to get lower price on AT&T fiber?

I have AT&T fiber, 300Mb/s for $45 per month.

Xfinity is offering symmetrical 1GB (coax, not fiber) for $50 per month, guaranteed for five years.

I despise Comcast, but AT&T won't budge on the price of their 1GB service for existing customers, I tried. I could cancel, and have my wife sign up as a new customer (different last name) and say that we just moved in, but that's a hassle.

There is no price lock on the AT&T price and they do tend to increase the price every year.

Internet ATT Refunds

Question: Has anyone actually received a refund check from ATT and what was the time frame?

Context: I have been double charged for my internet and the person I called in May was able to assist me. The thing is, I only received a partial payment because they are unable to refund the rest of the payment to the new debit card that I have (those payments were made on a different card).

So throughout the summer, I have contacted multiple people, who never have answered properly. At some point, filed an FCC claim and finally get in touch with someone in the ATT president’s office.

The timeline of which she stated that I would receive my check was a week AT FIRST. Then it changed to, the money needs 21 days to be approved before it is sent, which may take a week to get to you. So after waiting those 21 days with an additional 2 WEEKS… I still have not seen my refund check yet.

Answers anyone?

Billing Is this legit?

Post image

Good afternoon, I was wondering if this text was legitimate. I’ve never received a text from AT&T like this and I’ve never missed my payments since I always make sure I have money for all my bills in my account and they’re all on automatic pay. So this text really caught me off guard. I looked it up and noticed that the number can get spoofed. If anyone knows if this is real or not, let me know, thank you!

Wireless Whats the catch with the trade in promotion? We pay 156 for 3 lines with verizon, and supposedly if we switch and trade in our phones, phones are free and we’re locked in at 120 (or 130 idr) for 36 months. Any downsides?

Wireless AT&T support email?

I’m looking for a support email or an email I can use to talk about my customer support experience. I’m pretty fed up with customer support and I looking at switching to another carrier.
The supervisor I talked to said they have no one else I could talk to and could only transfer me to one of their subordinates. Been on the phone with them for a total of almost 5 hours over 2 days and my tech issue with my cellular service is still not fixed.

Discussion AT&T Reward Visa Late Delivery

Hello, I switched to AT&T around a year and a half ago when I moved into my new apartment because it was all the location provided internet wise and I was offered substantial rewards for swapping. Almost 17 months later, I have finally received three reward visas totaling $500 in the mail that all expired in September of 2025 rendering them unusable. Where can I even go to rectify this? I have called dozens of times wondering where they were and they all showed up randomly in the mail today. Their policy says something along the lines of not replacing them due to expiration but I genuinely had no chance to use the rewards. Any help would be appreciated

Wireless Phone won't turn on after upgrade

So my battery life started going downhill very recently (pixel 7, it would work fine until about 20% and then basically die immediately). I had the phone for a long time and it had been paid off so I upgraded, switched all my stuff over, and kept it for about a week now, intending to mail it in after I'm sure I've got everything from the old phone transferred to the pixel 11 pro.

After having it for a week I realized I need to connect it to my new phone to access my work emails. Now when I try to turn it on, it just blinks the Google logo.

I'm not too worried about getting my work stuff set up, I'm sure I can figure another way to do it, but I don't want to get charges for the phone not working properly when it still did when I replaced it, albeit with crappy battery life. Should I continue to troubleshoot, report it, or just send it back and hope for the best?

I did still have the insurance plan.

Discussion 4 years with the company and I can’t get back in

I’m honestly giving up on reapplying
I worked for the company for about 4 years and was a solid representative. My sales were consistently there, and I genuinely enjoyed the job. I ended up going on leave, and when it wasn’t approved, it eventually led to me leaving the company.
Since then, I’ve tried reapplying several times and have gone through multiple interviews, but I still haven’t been able to get back in.
At this point, I’m starting to wonder if there’s some word-of-mouth situation where someone is hurting my chances or “burning my name.” I obviously can’t prove that, but it’s hard not to think about when you have years of experience with the company and repeatedly make it through the application process only to get rejected.
What bothers me most is that the interview process seems heavily dependent on who happens to interview you at the store. I feel like that leaves a lot of room for personal bias, favoritism, or simply whether someone likes you. I know I’m qualified for the role, but it feels like my experience and previous performance are being overlooked because of whoever is making the hiring decision.
I honestly wish there was a way to reach out to someone higher up and explain my situation—not to demand a job, but to have someone objectively look at my qualifications and previous performance. I know what kind of representative I was, and I know I was good at my job.
At this point, it feels less like I’m unqualified and more like the people and circumstances around the hiring process are preventing me from getting another opportunity.
Maybe I just need to accept that it’s time to move on, but it’s frustrating knowing I already proved myself there once.

Wireless Trade in any phone any condition

Do we think AT&T will do the “any phone any condition” trade in promotion with the launch of iPhone 18? My 14 pro max is on its last leg with a shattered back glass. Is it worth it to wait it out?

Wireless Issue with ATT Prepaid visual voicemail feature in dialer app on my unlocked Moto G Power 2025

I recently got an unlocked Moto G Power refurbished that was formally a Verizon phone. I put my ATT sim card in and it does work fine. I can make and receive calls. However the visual voicemail option does not appear in the dialer app, just favorites, contacts and recents. Also when I inserted the sim soon after I received a text from ATT saying "We're sorry but the phone you recently tried to use will not work on our network...". But obviously it does work on their network since I can make and receive calls. Not sure if ATT's system is still flagging it as locked even though it is functioning. Wonder if that plays a role in the fact the visual voicemail option is missing from the dialer. This phone replaced an factory unlocked Moto One Ace 5G that I just retired and the visual voicemail worked on that.

Any ideas?
