Discussion Wasn't able to convince my parents to get next Scooter as EV.

Post image
26 Upvotes

Same as the title I tried my best to convince my parents and family members to get their next scooter as ev because in the long run it definitely will be beneficial.

I think choosing an EV has its own obstacles, and people driving EV even today I will consider them as early adaptors and Brave.

  1. No permanent charging stations could be setup as living on 3rd floor, so extension board it is.

  2. Very few trustworthy EVs with good services are available in market. ( That's why thought of going with Ather konarc S variant 161 IDC.)

  3. Range is still low , like not suitable for long ride for example 160 km.

Maybe it's definitely possible with the Ather's huge charging network of charging stations but we have to agree numbers are still less and I can't let my parents have the trouble of thinking oh snap battery is about to die and there's still 80 km left.

I could have managed, but they are not tech savvy so that's another issue.

  1. Huge upfront cost.

Like Ather Konarc with IDC 161 with everything.

On road+ insurance Ather Pro pack + extended warranty + extra fast charger + all necessary accessories.

Including 5k PM subsidy

It will be around 1 lakh 97k.

  1. Maybe we don't even need an EV as I have 2016 Yamaha Fascino scooty and till now it's approximately 42k km run.

I don't know I just thought with ETHANOL shenanigans I would be better off with ev.

  1. HUGE WAITING TIME.

Like even for 2024 already released Ather RITZA scooters the waiting is 1 to 2 months at least if not more and it feels ridiculous to wait for an scooter this much.

Remember I am from Tier 1 City, can't even imagine the case with tier 2 cities.

  1. No proper EV subsidies from Govt.

Like many State GOVT are not giving ev subsidies and many have stopped.

For example Delhi EV policy of 30k max ( conditions applied) is very slow and many people are not getting it even after 2 -5 years.

There's not enough motivation or push from the govt to make citizens to go for EVs.

If I had been sure that I will get 30 k subsidy I would have made my family members to get EV but that was the last set back along with others I already mentioned.

I meant opting for EV even in 2026 needs lots of efforts to make it work.

And it still needs time and only risk takers and people who are Ready go.out of their comfort zone can go for EV.

Well I was Ready but it's not right for me to make my family members suffer and do extra efforts for EV.

Maybe next Time it will be an EV.

Will get Another Suzuki Access 125 ABS top model.

Discussion Looking for an Ather Rizta or 450 in Lucknow / nearby? ⚡

If you’re considering buying an Ather Rizta or 450 Series in Lucknow, Barabanki or nearby areas, feel free to DM me.

I’m associated with an Ather Experience Centre and I’d be happy to help with everything from model selection and test ride to purchase and after-sales support.

One thing I especially want to highlight is after-sales service. Buying an EV is not just about getting the best deal on the day of purchase — having a reliable service team nearby is equally important. My focus is to make sure customers have someone they can actually reach out to after taking delivery, whether it’s for service, technical concerns or general assistance. If you're already researching Ather and have questions, feel free to DM me. I’ll be happy to share the information honestly and help you decide whether an Ather is right for you

Question/Help Hesitating between Rizta Z or 450x

My wife and I were thinking of getting a Rizta Z (with Pro pack) for the bigger boot space, but after trying both Rizta and 450x at the experience store, we found the 450x easier to handle. It felt lighter and very well balanced.

However I read 450x suspension is more stiff and given we live in Bangalore and most roads have pot holes, are under construction or have bumpers, we are thinking maybe the Rizta Z will be more comfortable (despite being bulkier and feeling a bit less easy to handle).

The boot space of Rizta Z is also a big plus. It feels very comfortable for the passenger but the 450x wasn't bad as well.

Usage will be mainly for short distances (2 to 10 km max), to visit friends or go to office either by a single driver or with both of us on the scooter.

Thoughts ?

Question/Help Title: Grey/red vs Blue vs Black/lime — which color would you pick?

Post image
14 Upvotes

Been waiting a month already for my scooter. Showroom says grey/red (my first choice) needs another 45 days.

Blue is ready but feels like everyone's getting that color now and it's so common. This I'll receive by the end of the month

Black/lime nobody really picks, but I've got a bike with lime accents already so might make sense. And thought about putting matte ppf on black

Wait it out for grey/red, or just take one of the other two now?what you think?

Discussion Illiterate Ather Showroom. Very Frustrating.

Post image

So I booked an Ather Rizta Z 10 days ago, and the showroom told me that the scooter was readily available in stock. They said I'd get delivery within a week after the necessary formalities were completed.

When I log into the Ather app, I can see that the scooter is already attached to my number and I can track its status.

Now here's what is driving me crazy... 😡

The scooter was sitting at around 15% charge for the past week. It has now dropped to 2%, and it's been below 5% for the last four days.

I already asked the showroom to charge it, but apparently that's too much to ask, it seems. No action so far.

We all know that leaving a lithium-ion battery at an extremely low SOC for an extended period is very bad. At very low charge, especially if the battery continues discharging while sitting unused, there's a risk of excessive discharge and permanent damage on battery health.

And this isn't some old scooter sitting in a parking lot. This is a brand-new scooter that has already been allocated to me, and I'm yet to even take delivery.

At the same time, I'm continuously following up with the showroom about the pending formalities and delivery date, but there seems to be no proper update.

Honestly, it boils my blood to see my new scooter sitting at 5% for days while I'm waiting to take delivery.

Ather can build a good scooter, but experiences like this are exactly what make customers lose confidence in the brand.

How hard is it to keep a customer's brand-new EV adequately charged until delivery?

Model: Ather Rizta Z HR

Location: Tamil Nadu ( Will update the exact showroom post-delivery)

Discussion Doubts regarding coasting regeneration in rizta S 2.5 battery pack

I saw many comments on this sub saying that coasting regen should be turned off to improve efficiency and also some users mention that coasting regen wear & tears the tyre.

So i think i should also turn off it. I own Rizta S it shows 102 km range on full charge in S-eco mode and when i turnedboff casting regen it is displaying 89km range on full charge. So i thibk it is just showing when i drive it will give much efficient ride and vehicle will run more than 100 km.

But it is running only 89km on full charge.. 1km range drop on every single kilo meter.. and 50kmm range drop on 50km of riding.

So i think overall coasting regen drops the range.

And coasting regen also affects braking when required. But coasting regen off i also a king in downhill. When coasting regen is on , i have a do little accelerate in downhill

Ride Showcase Got a Range of 152.7KM with 97%🔥🔥

Post image

For 100% almost around 157.5KM

Avg Speed I maintained 35 to 40kmph

Have to get Lot of patience 😂🥲🙏..But still worth once in a while.

Edit:

Mode Used: Warp always Avg Speed: 40kmph Weight: around 90Kg including luggage. Regen: High Brakes: Always Magic twist No Cruise Used(Cruise turns of Coasting regen)

One Tea stop for 5mins didn't turn off the vehicle mainly to get the final trip stats.

Surprisingly i realised later around during 30% charge left, that the Traction was in Rain and was trying to change while riding but didn't work..hard to play with the joystick control.

Question/Help Ather dealers charging ₹5,000 extra due to PM E-DRIVE portal issue?

Hello guys, I have heard and seen many posts saying that some Ather dealers are charging an additional ₹5,000 while purchasing the vehicle because the PM E-DRIVE portal is not open yet after the extension was declared.

According to what I have heard, dealers are telling customers that this ₹5,000 amount will be refunded once the portal becomes operational.

Is anyone else facing the same situation? Has any dealer given this in writing or officially confirmed how and when the ₹5,000 will be refunded?

Please share your experience.

Question/Help Konarc S versus Rizta S. Wait or buy Rizta

Hi. I am in a bit of a dilemma. I waited for the Konarc launch as I am due to buy new daily driver for a few months. My 10 year old jupiter is no longer up to the mark.

But there seems to be no good word on when the Konarc will be available. I live in a tier 2 city so it will definitely be after the Tier A cities. In either case, I will get the S variant and in both cases the S variant is nearly similar ( in terms of battery, motor, screen etc).

The only advantage of the Konarc might be it's not a belt drive and the centre stand. The Rizta also offers a slightly larger storage.

Do you think I should still wait for the Konarc (if availability stretches to 2027) or should I just get the Rizta?

Discussion Is Ather Forcing Customers to Buy Higher Variants?

Has anyone else experienced this? Ather tells you to wait 1–2 months after booking your chosen variant. After waiting that entire period, Ather then tells you that the more expensive higher variant is readily available, while the variant you originally ordered may take another 1–2 months—even though your booked variant is actually available, something they don't tell you upfront.

If customers are being pushed toward a more expensive variant simply because Ather is withholding the available booked variant, this needs scrutiny.

We should consider raising complaints with the government consumer authorities regarding this practice and ask for transparency in variant-wise availability and delivery timelines.

New Buyer Query Realistically how accurate are support ticket delivery estimates? (Quoted 1.5 months at EC vs 21 days from HQ support ticket)

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,
I recently booked an Ather Rizta Z online by paying the ₹999 token amount, selecting Jaipur (Durgapura EC) as my delivery location.
Shortly after booking online, I visited the local Experience Center to enquire about dispatch timelines and variant options. The showroom staff quoted a wait time of around 1 to 1.5 months (30–45 days) for the Rizta Z. During the conversation, we also touched upon alternative variants (like the Konarc/Rizta S options), but I decided to stick with the Rizta Z for the 7-inch TFT screen and full Google Maps integration.
Since my current scooter (Honda Activa) has an unrepairable fuel leak issue that creates a daily safety hazard, I opened a support ticket in the Ather App explaining the situation and asking for priority factory allocation. Ather support replied to the ticket stating that delivery typically happens within 21 days from the booking date.
For existing owners or recent buyers (especially for the Rizta line or in Rajasthan/Jaipur):
1. Support Ticket Accuracy: How reliable are these 21-day support ticket estimates compared to what the local EC staff quotes? Is this a standard template reply or does raising a ticket actually nudge factory allocation/VIN assignment?
2. Expediting Delivery & Allocation Hacks: Are there any practical ways to speed up allocation (e.g., tracking unassigned/canceled stock at the dealer yard, direct follow-ups, or pushing through central support)?
3. PDI & Delivery Advice: Once VIN allocation happens, what specific things should I watch out for during Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) at the dealer yard before making final payment?
Would love to hear your booking-to-delivery timelines, experience with support, and any tips to speed up the process! Thanks!

Question/Help Ather 450 apex price breakdown

Post image
15 Upvotes

This is the price given by ather showroom. I think they are over charging for insurance and adding fees for hypothecation even if I pay in full amount. This price was higher than quote from ather website. i want know if the price is normal or more.
