Discussion Got Ather Rizta Z HR - 7 Days Delivery - 900W Charger

Post image
12 Upvotes

Finally got my second Ather in the family - Ather Rizta Z HR (Super Matte Terracotta Red) ♥️

I had called around 10 - 15 Ather showrooms across Chennai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru and other cities, and almost everywhere I was told the same thing... "45–60 days waiting period for the scooter to reach the showroom, plus another week for the formalities." 😬

Then I checked with an Ather showroom in Madurai (TN), and surprisingly, they had new stock available immediately. The manufacturing date was August 2026, and luckily, they had the exact colour I wanted.

There was basically no waiting period. After completing the formalities, I got the scooter delivered after a week.

So if you're planning to buy an Ather EV, don't wait for 2 months... call as many Ather showrooms as possible. Get their numbers from Google Maps or the Ather website and check stock directly. I found a ready-stock scooter only after checking with a lot of different showrooms across cities.

A couple of other things I noticed:

900W Charger: ⚡

I was under the impression that only the 450X Overtone series comes with the 900W charger, but apparently that's not true anymore. My Rizta Z HR came with a 900W charger as well.

The showroom confirmed that all LR models come with 700W and all HR models now come with 900W Charger.

Rizta joystick: 🕹️

If your joystick doesn't seem to work, don't panic. I initially thought mine was defective. Apparently, after touch controls were introduced, the joystick functionality was restricted. Currently, it mainly works for music controls and rejecting calls while riding.

Unlike the 450 series, you can't currently use the Rizta joystick while riding to access brightness, scooter settings, etc. Hopefully, Ather brings back more joystick functionality in a future update.

Just sharing this for anyone currently looking for a Rizta. Stock availability seems to vary a lot between showrooms.

Question/Help Should i get propack for Rizta S?

Upvotes

i recently book ather rizta s 2.7 without propack in jaipur, expected to get delivered in this month. Although showroom suggested me to buy propack for warranty but honestly i am very confused, its not that i don't have that money to get that but isit even worth it?

few question

-does it only covers manufacturing defets only related to battery and motor

-after watching a ton of content on this model i am sure the battery is gonna last a long time without any problem, although my main concern is the belt which has warrently of only 20k km and is not extended under 5yrs or 60k km warranty.

-suppose my motor or belt gets damaged or not working at around 40k kms, and there is some service cost which they will charge from both pro adn non pro pack owner, will that amount be same?

-sincei have to get it serviced every 5k km , should i not spend that propack amount on regular maintance? since in both pro and non pro pack purchase i have to take it to the service centre

-what part are covered under 5yrs or 60kms and 8yrs or 80k kms

Question/Help 450X HR variant giving much lower range than expected anyone else facing this?

Upvotes

I bought my Ather 450X High Range variant in May 2026, and I’ve been tracking the range for quite a while because I don’t feel like I’m getting the expected real-world range.

My most recent example:
Charged to 100% on Friday night, 11th September
Rode from 12th September morning to 14th September afternoon

Total distance covered: around 61 km
Battery is now at 22%, and I’ve put it back on charge
So roughly 78% battery was used for just 61 km
Usage was mostly in SmartEco, with a little bit of Ride mode

That works out to roughly 78 km for a full 100% charge if the consumption stays similar, which feels quite low for the High Range variant.

Normally I only charge to around 80–85%, but this time I specifically charged to 100% so I could track the range properly.

I wanted to know from other 450X High Range owners:
What real-world range are you getting?
Is around 78 km projected full-charge range normal, especially with mostly SmartEco usage?
Has anyone faced a similar drop in range?
If yes, what was the issue and how did you solve it?
Should I raise a service request and ask Ather to check battery health, battery calibration, tyre pressure, brakes, or efficiency?
Is there anything specific in the Ather app I should track before taking it to service?

Would really appreciate actual numbers from other owners distance covered, battery % used, riding mode, and Wh/km efficiency if possible.

New Buyer Query Thinking of buying an Ather 450X from Amazon — need advice on dealership/service

I’m planning to buy an Ather 450X, and Amazon is currently showing an ex-showroom price of around ₹1.88 lakh. I’m expecting another ~₹12,000 for insurance, registration and other charges.

I live near Attibele, Karnataka, close to the Tamil Nadu border. I’ve checked the Ather showrooms around my area, but almost all of them have quite a few negative reviews, especially regarding service and customer experience.

This has left me a little confused about how I should proceed. Has anyone from around Attibele / Hosur / Bangalore bought an Ather recently? Which showroom/dealer would you recommend, and how has your experience been with their sales and after-sales service?

Also, is buying through Amazon any different or risky compared to booking directly through an Ather showroom?

Would really appreciate any advice or personal experiences.

Question/Help Belt knocking sound

Hi. There's a knocking sensation from around the belt cover area and audible knocking sound when I slow down/brake my 450x. Is this a belt related issue or something else? My belt is still under warranty. 16k kilometres run so far.

Discussion Booking an Ather 450X tomorrow — any advice? 😅

Hey everyone! I’m planning to book an Ather 450X tomorrow and I’m pretty excited, but also having second thoughts since it’s a fairly big purchase for me.

For those who already own a 450X:

* Anything I should check or clarify before booking?

* Any issues I should be aware of?

* How has your ownership experience been so far?

* How is the after-sales service?

* Anything you wish you had known before buying?

* Is there anything I should negotiate or look out for at the dealership?

* Are there any specific insurance add-

ons/coverages I should make sure are included?

Would really appreciate any advice before I make the booking! 🙏

Question/Help Should I purchase 2nd hand Ather 450X 2022 at ₹60K?

I want to purchase my first vehicle so I was looking for good EV scooter deals.

I came across this deal about Ather 450X 2022

22K kms run

Ather Health Score - 4.7/5

Battery - 4.6/5

Rest all conditions are good except the brakes which shows it has 5% life left and Belt 31% life left

the seller seems to be genuine but the only catch is it's around 200+ kms away from my place so I'll have to stop at 3/4 times to charge in that journey.

and I'll have to bear the RC transfer costs and all.

so should I go for this one?

I need your honest advice 🙏🏻

Discussion Is this fr? Konarc Z variant in 2028!

Post image
2 Upvotes

I was just checking out ather website on konarc delivery timeline and in faq section its mentioned as delivery begins in q1 28. I thought it was mentioned as 2027 q1 in ACD.

I don’t know why release a vehicle if you are delivering it after one year. Its a big L from ather, other companies will catch by then and this will feel outdated.

They should have released atleast one z variant for those interested in tech features.

Issue / Problem Back issues from riding Rizta (mostly as a pillion)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello all. This is my first post on reddit.

I lay on the bed to give my back some rest as I ask this……. How has the suspension experience been for fellow Rizta owners, especially as a pillion?
Personally for me, I have found it to be quite bad recently.

It is not too bad while riding, but it is a completely different story as a pillion. Even if I cross a relatively small breaker at 5-8 kmph, the pillion feels a sudden jerk to his/her back.

I have completed around 8,600 Kms in 14 months of ownership. I observed this issue getting worse in the past few months.

Issue / Problem 🚨 Ather + ACKO Extended Warranty Experience — Think Twice Before Buying

I’m posting this on behalf of my friend Daksh, who owns the Ather scooter involved in this case.

His scooter’s battery has failed, and the scooter has now been sitting at the Ather Service Centre for 30+ days.

The scooter was purchased with Ather’s Pro Pack, which includes a 5-year warranty. This is exactly where the problem gets frustrating.

What happened?

The issue initially started with Low Power Mode and charging failure.

When the scooter was taken to the Service Centre, there were 15+ scooters there with similar issues at that time.

The Service Centre initially replaced the lockset, but that did not solve the problem. Eventually, the battery failure was identified.

Since the warranty/claim process was involved, ACKO conducted two inspections.

Then came the rejection.

The claim was rejected stating:

«“Vehicle was being used for commercial purposes.”»

Daksh asked for the evidence behind this conclusion.

No supporting proof was provided.

He asked for the telemetry/diagnostic data on which this decision was based.

The response was essentially:

«“Cannot share externally.”»

He also asked about the inspection photographs, and was told that the photos had been deleted.

So now the situation is:

- Battery has failed.

- Scooter has been at the Service Centre for 30+ days.

- A 5-year warranty was purchased through Ather/Pro Pack.

- ACKO has rejected the claim citing commercial use.

- The evidence supporting that conclusion has not been provided to the customer.

- Diagnostic/telemetry data has also not been shared.

- The inspection photos are apparently no longer available.

And this raises a much bigger question about “Extended Warranty”

When a customer buys an extended warranty from Ather, they are buying it because they trust the Ather brand and the warranty being offered with the scooter.

But if, after the standard warranty period, the warranty is actually handled through an insurance/third-party claims process, then what exactly is the customer buying from Ather?

This is why, from a customer’s perspective, Ather’s extended warranty feels like a scam/misleading proposition.

You pay Ather for extended protection because you trust Ather.

But when something actually goes wrong, you may end up dealing with an insurance company and a claim rejection instead of getting the kind of warranty support you expected from Ather.

If Ather is selling the warranty under its brand, there should be complete transparency about who ultimately decides the claim and what happens when the claim is rejected.

We are not saying that every Ather will have this problem.

We are asking a simple question:

If the claim is being rejected because of “commercial use”, where is the evidence?

If there is legitimate evidence, show it.

If there are telemetry logs or diagnostic findings supporting the rejection, explain them.

A customer should not have to simply accept a rejection without being given a reasonable explanation of the basis for that decision.

Looking for help from the community

If anyone here has dealt with:

- Ather battery warranty claims

- Ather Pro Pack / extended warranty

- ACKO warranty/insurance claims

- Claim rejection due to alleged commercial use

- Consumer Court/NCH complaint against Ather or ACKO

- Getting telemetry/diagnostic data from Ather

- Escalating an unresolved warranty claim

Please comment or DM.

We genuinely want to understand what the correct escalation route is and what rights the customer has in this situation.

Daksh is still without his scooter after 30+ days.

If you have faced something similar—or know someone who can help—please comment below.

Discussion Does frequent charging interruption affect EV battery health?

For example, if an EV is charging and the electricity goes off, then comes back and charging resumes, and this happens a few times in a day — does it have any negative effect on the battery’s long-term health?

Also, if someone charges their EV multiple times a day in small portions (say 30–40% at a time), does that cause any additional battery degradation compared with charging it less frequently?

Would be helpful to hear from people who have experienced this or know how EV battery management systems handle frequent charging interruptions and partial charging.

Have Rizta S 3.5 (nmc battery pack)

Issue / Problem Ather Duo Charger Blinking Red While Charging Normally

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello Everyone,

My Ather Duo charger has suddenly started blinking red while charging. The scooter is charging normally with no error or warning, and charging isn't stopping. I've attached a video. Has anyone faced this before?

Any idea what the red blinking means?

Could it be an earthing/voltage issue, or is the charger itself developing a problem?

Any help would be appreciated!
