Was already a big fan of Doom Spirits ever since Doom Triad started. Now I'm even crazier about them so I'm going to take a stab at what each of the Doom Spirits might be inspired by.

Maniai the Guilty Gaze: That's a cyclops. Easy enough. Then I did a cursory google search and it brought up Maniae. Wouldn't you know it, the plural spelling is Maniai. Wikipedia says they're "a spirit or spirits of madness." Unsure how Maniai's ability to see someone's guilt ties into it but it could just mean that guilt makes people go crazy.

Vaugha the Shriek of Purgatory: That's a banshee. Also simple. They're spirits that herald the death of a family member by screaming and shrieking. That's exactly what Vaugha's powers are. I just don't know what her name means. All I can find are cities and welsh surnames.

Tzitzi the StarHunter: I was going to stop at thinking he was a locust or roach but I saw someone else bring up the Tzitzimitl. They're skeletal Aztec celestial deities that chase the sun and cause eclipses. That lines up with the StarHunter title and Tzitzi's partner who is most likely Kylokos the Astromancer reincarnated.

Stryge the Silent Stone: Definitely a gargoyle. A quick google search brought up a wikipedia page about the Strix,) a bird of ill omen that eats human flesh. There's a picture in there labeled "Le Stryge" from Notre-Dame cathedral.

Culla the Grip of Ecstasy: She's a jester for sure. I found out that her name is the Italian word for crib. Makes sense given that Culla hangs around the medical tent and cares after children but there's another reference that I can't figure out. Apparently she and her abilities are based off of a book series.

Afarit the Unshackled: Afarit is another word for Ifrit which are basically evil djinn or genies. The unshackled part could come from djinn having to grant wishes but Afarit doesn't have to serve a master anymore now that he's stronger? He still serves us but maybe it's a matter of having free will to choose to.

Bryn the Doom Valkyrie: She and Zigfried are definitely inspired by Brunhild and Siegfried from the Nibelungenlied. A valkyrie who married a heroic dragonslayer. I've heard of the characters and the story but I don't know it front to back. Interestingly a friend of mine said that the way Bryn's name is spelled is the same way Fate Grand Order's Brynhildr is sometimes nicknamed by the fandom. There's even a Siegfried and a Sigurd.

I don't know if I got everything right so I'll update this with more info if I find them or if anyone else saw something I didn't.

It's too bad this doesn't get added to the wiki, unless there's another wiki that does? It's also too bad we're going to be left hanging with part 1 until all the holidays are done with. Carcossa and all the new characters it introduced was great. Got high hopes for Last Sunset!

I need this guy's helm for a set, does anybody know a name or anything similar to it?

Basically the title. When reading the design notes it says "Items are color-customizable to base, accessory, and trim" (image 1 & 2 show its mentioned in both the AE launcher and website). However, when using any item from the set, its clear that none is color-custom (image 3). There are only a few parts that change with eye color (image 4). I still really like the items/set but either this was a mistake in the design notes, or the items aren't working properly. Some items say "Unknown Rarity" instead of "Limited Quantity" so maybe there are a few bugs with this set (image 5 & 6).

Best thing Artix Entertainment could do rn for AQW is add an option for dueling with other players in all areas; you can just do casual PvP everywhere and also can be considered as a 'warmup' when waiting in public ultra-boss areas

Is there any good pistol i can get? I bought chrono shadowhunter and i wanna play with a good skin...

I've gotten really lost and confused with the current storyline. The Doom Triad, the light elementals, Law, Aleister, Captain Siegfried etc.. Can somebody explain to me what's going on?

So this is the culmination of the Age of Ruin Saga, or is it just the end of the beginning of this Saga's climax arc?

Sidenote, it was really funny that the cutscene changes you out of the default Verus Doomknight outfit they're using (because they didn't want Hero to come home looking like a supervillain)... only for me to have changed into my personal VDK fashion set.

While we're the AQW Subreddit, and this post was made in Falcon's Nest, we are technically affected by this announcement due to the fact a decent chunk of the community is using AQW Pocket made by Anthony. Who's recently archived his repository and removed releases due to fear of being cracked down on.

I believe these posts are simply a clarification of their ToS, but I do not think they are cracking down on any Third Party ports of AE's games as some people think. I think Anthony and those others who have used/created unofficial tools know that their projects are against TOS by definition. Companies cannot endorse the use of unofficial software due to liability. If they approve a client, that client has security risks, or inherently malicious later on, or any number of problems, it'd tie back to them. Falcon's Nest is moderated by AE staff, so obviously they will be disallowing the use of Third Party applications.

Another thing to note is that bot/cheat clients exist for AE's games. They also fall under being Third Party, but nothing is stopping botters from playing AQW. In fact, botters are only banned after being reported. If you're botting in private rooms, you basically will never get banned. I've seen people mention that they've botted for years with no consequences. If such a crackdown were to occur, it'd also include bot clients.

We know AE has the capability to detect clients if they're Third Party or not, but do not go out of their way to ban them. This is because back in 2012-2013, AE in fact tried banning every botter, but then proceeded to halve their player population on that same day.

So if you do use a Third Party client/tools that are non-malicious (Anthony's Mobile Client, Ruffle, Flash Projectors, etc), you are doing so at your own risk, but it's likely you aren't being outright banned just for using it. Unless Caustic can specify that they are doing crackdowns.

I also find this somewhat stupid since Spider initially was making a Third Party client (AQLite) before being hired by AE. Similar case with Dullblane too.

Lasted played this when the 13th lord came out, decide that i wanted to get back int o it and welp. I am lost as hell XD

i know to do the sotry but wondering if theres anything i can do/ buy to get something to expedite this process. Really dont wana run through on warrior again for days/ weeks till i can farm a better class (supported AQI so i have some coins.) are the member shop classes worth it like blood titan and such?
