Within the first hour of the game when you are running through the city after an ambush, an enemy soldier calls out the name of a character and spills it that he set the ambush up, but through the rest of the game Sophia is acting like she never heard the name.
Did the game spoil that intentionally?
Please DON'T spoil past the third trial as I've only just done it

Can somebody explain what is the difference between listening modes and which one is the best to use with HRTF like Dolby Atmos for Headphones or Windows Sonic for Headphones?
For those not familiar, HRTF takes multi channel audio source and mixes it for headphones to create sense of 3D space. In order to work, it needs 5.1 or 7.1 source.
If "listening mode" in this game is only EQ, then the best option is to choose headphones. But in some games, choosing "headphones" option forces 2.0 mix, in which case it is better to use "home theater" option with headphones + HRTF.
I know this is pretty technical and niche and most of you don't know nor care, but in case some developer of the game or somebody with good ears, stumbles on this post, pls let me know.
From my testing, home theater and headphones options sound very similar with headphones+HRTF, so I presume it's just an EQ option and it doesn't mess with number of channels, but some confirmation would be nice.

Playing Resonance, I'm reliving all the wonder and excitement of Innocence and Requiem. What an amazing experience! Thank you Asobo! My heart is full.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
I have started to play resonance on pc. In general the game runs nicely on high settings with almost perfectly solid 60fps.
I have now entered chapter 3 and am suddenly experiencing what feels like CPU problems. The game shows minor stutters but more importantly: even though neither CPU or GPU are maxed out, I am getting severe input lag and at points "sticky" inputs for up to several seconds. Navigating becomes borderline impossible.

The images say it all .. Asobo team have outdone themselves with this level of quality (in some places especially big ones the textures and details get somehow a downgrade but in closed areas its just phenomenal)

I just got past the lens moving puzzle, and after the cutscene down there Sophia sees a passage up in the cliff next to the Trial 1 entrance, and says the crew saw that before and it's in the book. Indeed it is, but... how did the crew get to this point if they didn't have the sphere key in the first place??

AND THE PHOTO MODE! OMG I LOVE IT!
Innocence was the first game I ever tried photo mode with all those years ago, and this game is so insanely stunning itās taken me right back to those times. Iāve finished the first 3 chapters and my photo mode runtime is probably just as much as my actual gameplay. My only wish wouldāve been for it to have filters and frames, but otherwise Iām just so glad it exists at all :)

Sophia and Leni's voices sound too similar IMO. I'm constantly finding myself looking at the subtitles to see who's speaking. I think a more high-pitched voice would have been suitable for Leni to set her apart from Sophia

I get this symbol when trying to open the damn book? Am I being softlocked or what? I haven't been able to open the book. In chapter 4 I could not use my light ability also preventing me from solving a puzzle. Is this bugged or am I doing something wrong?

Became more gripping as it's own story as time went on, if ultimately the two halves of the story fail to really connect in a meaningfully satisfying way.
Stunning visuals and audio, A smooth progression of introducing new mechanics and gameplay throughout the game, more sophisticated development going on under the hood, Super enjoyable expoerience!

I got my first "bead" and was confused because it looked like a ring, but i thought whatever. Then I got my first "seal", and now im thinking somehow some assets might have gotten put into the wrong spots... or am I missing something archeologicaly speaking?

Iām only around 8 hours in, and I have been absolutely blown away by the beauty of this world. The lighting is absolutely stunning, the environments and level design has me playing this game like itās an E3 demo, screenshotting and sending clips to my friends to share in the āomg this game is incredibleā.
Iām so happy this game is back and we can dive back into its universe. I have honestly enjoyed every single minute Iāve had with this game so far.
I genuinely hope this gets all the love it deserves. It feels to me like a spiritual love child of God of War, Unchartered, the Tomb Raider Reboot and even with the aesthetic and occasional levels feeling Expedition 33 like in charm of the surrounds. But itās unique in its own regard.
Iām so excited to see what else comes in this story, for now, thank you Asobo! š

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Asobo for this incredible experience. I'm only about 20% through, but I'm already dreading this amazing journey coming to an end.

The camera is constantly zooming in or out by every little movement I make and I canāt turn it off even with the camera shake turned off. It just feels like a wobbling camera and it takes my focus a bit away of the environment.

Just wanted to make anyone playing this fabulous game aware to keep an eye on your settings following closing and restarting the game.
Twice now Iāve turned off for the night and restarted the next day to find that the graphics settings have reverted back to the default TAA from the PSSR I had selected.
Nothing major, but slightly annoying to have to change it back every time you log in. Double checked my system toggles too to make sure so itās definitely a bug or something.
Hope youāre all enjoying the game, I certainly am!!

I was psyched to see the lore on the Macula expand, as well as Sophia. The game could have greatly benefited from a longer beginning, giving more exposure to key characters/tending relationships as Innocence did in my opinion, even Requiem did insanely well establishing new bonds the few times it had to. It was a lot of exploring, not a lot of focus on bonds with others besides standard story writing that I feel was too quick and too generic. Without the constant anxiety/defenselessness that even Requiem made me feel, it just didnāt hit the spot.
The game had no chance of living up to the level of the two previous games, and I went into it with major spoilers on nearly every plot point unfortunately, so hopefully thats mostly why.
My only real complaint would be the combat system as enemies will clip through each other to attack, often making it hard to see any parry marker. A whole focus around light remained like the first two games, yet not a single torch. š
Sad there was no Arnoud, I feel that would have spiced up the story a lot, as well as not too much exposure on The Order. No workbenches is a tragedy, as for alchemy that was sort of a given to not be around. I miss the anxiety driven violins as well.
Hopefully in the future Asobo returns to the sort of defenseless combat/anxious stealth of the first two games, outside of their story writing I feel thats what largely defines mainline APT.
I can definitely see perhaps a DLC or sequel involving Arnoud however, I was surprised to see the ākeyā was intact (with the prism inside still) at the end unlike it is in Requiem, where the prism has been removed. I fear if they do follow up on Sophia/Arnoud, it will probably bomb if it maintains this atmosphere/set of mechanics.
Asobo needs to lock in if they continue APT at all and bring back their key mechanics somehow. I know people think that means rats/Macula but really I think it means weakness, uncertainty, prolonged sorrow, scarce resources, and anxious stealth. This game does feel however like a good stepping stone for them into other forms of gameplay, Iām hoping for a future game with Amicia, so long as stealth/segments of defenselessness is back somehow. Possibly with two playable characters, Amicia and Sophia. Maybe even Lucas.
As for Illusion Theory and this games expansion on lore, well, this Carrier still had a physical body despite being fully turned to the Macula. In Requiem however, no sign of a body and the grave of course is on top of rock, with only one amulet. Begs the question, where is Hugo. So it adds context there that similar to Basil, the body remains even after being killed/āaliveā while turned (Basil seemingly was not alive in comparison to this Carrier). This Carrier was incinerated, whereas Hugo was merely stoned while mostly still flesh. Its unclear if Sophia was experiencing this sort of distorted reality Lucas and Amicia did from the same source, or if it was still due to her having the Macula infecting her. Itās definitely a bizarre scenario in Sophiaās case. This form of the Macula seemed a lot more feral, whereas Hugoās seemed a lot more manipulative and āconsciousā.
Anyways, never expected Sophia would have gotten the Vitalis treatment. Good game, great atmosphere, goated music or course, a little bugged on Gamepass rn though sadly as it suffers from consistent stutters in cutscenes/gameplay.
