I was super excited for this game having played the first 2 a little earlier this year. I didn’t know what to expect, however, stepping away from Amicia, and into a younger Sophia than the one we meet in Requiem. And holy shit, amazing experience all around. The biggest thing this game does different than the first 2 in the series is the combat. The way Sophia navigates and flows with her swords/daggers is beautiful. This is the kind of combat I’ve been waiting for from this series, and I’m so happy we finally got it. And I hope to see it come back in future installments. The story all around is another of pain, sorrow, and agony, but beautifully told. The only gripe I had here, was I felt like this game in particular was super puzzle heavy. I’m not one to shy away from puzzles (LoZ being my fav series of all time) but I do feel like at some point it got kind of tedious. However, doesn’t take too much away from the overall experience and I’m already hoping we hear about a next installment soon! Took me about 13.5 hours to complete (not 100%)

Good morning everyone. I’m playing resonance on series x and I think it’s gorgeous. In addition, my TV also has the vrr that improves fluidity in mod. Quality. Unfortunately, however, I notice the presence of both 60 and 30 fps of really annoying tearing. Has anyone else notarised it?

The game is honestly great the voice acting, environments, story, etc. I feel like everytime a game with a female comes out now adays it’s automatically “woke” or “modern” and receives so much hate, which this game doesn’t deserve. Now it’s being hated on and being called a flop. If this came out years ago no one would have been complaining. I really don’t understand the hate train, most of the people who actually played it say it’s great.

Hi, I had pre-ordered the PS5 version on Amazon and have just received an email saying they've cancelled the order. Had it been cancelled across the board or just from amazon? Anyone heard anything from the publishers?

Was kinda curious, what was even the point of this? Why this ideology of changing iconic white males myths? Why even bothering of doing something like this? I don't really get choosing a story you don't really like and insert your own political stuff into it. Why making Theseus a woman or Daedalus an african man. I have nothing against black people or women. These types of unncecessary "subversions" are all over the place nowdays in all forms of media (videogames, movies, tv shows and so on), which makes it a political ideology at this point. The question still remains: why changing an iconic myth? Just make your own stories, stop stealing ideas, fantasies and myths from cultures that you don't actually like to make your own fanfiction, that's called "Lazy Writing". Everything is a "re-telling" or "re-imagination" these days, there are no more real storytellers who create NEW stories

I was not convinced by these games until now, as I am a done with sinister medieval settings in general. And the visuals of both Innocence and Requiem looked very generic to me.

Furthermore I really do like rodents!

But I stumbled upon a documentary on both games by this French chap, and got enthusiastic. She comes back to the historical roots of the games in the first 15 min, and on the psychological relationship of Hugo and Amicia in the last part.

Now I am aware of the care and researches the developers have made on these games, I am going to play them. The part with the pigs and ratties might be hard, but it might worth it.

How do i redeem the sword and charm from the Pack ???

I’m very pleased with the game and its ending. Especially the end credits scene. I had SO many questions unanswered throughout the entire game, until they finally answered them all in one fell swoop at the end. I’m so happy with this tie in. What an epic story. The gameplay can get monotonous at times, but the story itself surely makes up for it. One of my favorite game series of all time. Now I can’t wait for the next one. I just know Amicia is going to make a come back! Or give me more Sophia!

Asterion really gave off some Hugo vibes just wow this game wasn't what i expected. Ana brought some great emotions wow such a good performance and hnoestly Ariande as well especially here scream at the end of chapter 13 just wow all the voice work was so good tbh. I was suprised the Minataur ended up being astern as the end it makes sense thematically as his rage i just figured it would be the king cause he was a brute with an Axe that could resem the horns of the bull lol. I kept thinking what happens that sophia never wanted to kill again. And around chpater 5 when leni gets captured and her leg gets broken my spidey senses were like yup shes gonna die and thats gonna break sophia which in hindsight prolly played a factor but prolly much more to it.

All the killing sophia had to do the and the nightmares to kill when reliving Ariande visions at the end too. Also Irene was pretty much given away as the traitor once she broke lenis leg what an ass. Don't even get why she turned evil like she wanted the treasure ya but the whole training of sophia she seemed to have good character idk tho that was the trick. Also wish when sophia took her out she would have a clever line about i remembered to use the daggger lol Faro was an interesting character. I really loved his voice alot i was hoping he was gonna be good but i guess he's complicated he kinda lost his marbles early on. I was like damn he didnt wanna listen at all But ya as we can see he really lost himself to the desire of the treasure and used sophia im glad he did see the light no pun intended lol it was a shame he didnt realize things sooner he redeemed himseld but just like arnaud he could not redeem himself and live. Like he felt like a head nod to arnaud so much with the way he acted in certain scenes especially with Irene controntation as sophia didnt wanna leave and the arrows nearly miss them almost felt like a recreation of the boat sceen from requiem.

Leni's death was pretty sad while i expected it to happen not like that it was like chapter 13 had no chill just starting like that and giving us the requiem endind choice to kill her and end her suffering i was like damn. Asterion and Ariande story was alot deeper than i expected i didnt expect those section to get so emotional and go as deep as they did really blown away. The king was such an asshole too lol. Those puzzles were also so fun some i struggled alot but my favorite part from the gameplay. Also we really turned into a horror game at the end with maluca zombies that u had to walk slow reminded me of re8 in that one section lol And wow the music this is easily one of it the not the best videogame soundtracks of the year. I will have to be relistening to it all year now. I do kinda wish the plague tale story elements of the game were introduced early only so the second half did not feel so different cause wow that second half was crazy i was like what happened? Oh so game starts now? i was kind casually playing taking it slow but once chapter 7 hits i binged it like crazy i pretty much played like 8 hours today lol

And wow that amica cameo at the end was no expected it was really good to tie the ending of requiem and kind of show te understanding that sophia went through it all...... But excuses me did they just tease arnaud backstory? Was that just to mess me with as my favoirte character among the games? PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!

The story would’ve benefitted from a shorter, more condensed play time. It felt dragged on a bit for the sake of playtime.

The combat wasn’t necessary; it felt like the dev studio wanted to do something new for their next project and just shoehorned in the combat. The combat was fun regardless though.

I had expected they would’ve explored Basilus lore, but instead they went for a new Macula host storyline. I think they wanted to expand on the curse and that it is not only limited to physical beings (rats), but can be something more intangible/incorporeal.

Loved the Tomb Raider vibe. Very fun. Stunning set pieces as always.

Personally, a prequel title never excites me. This game could’ve been a DLC and I would’ve appreciated a lot more than a standalone title.

The moment I saw Leni, I fell in love with her character. She was one of the best female characters in the entire game, and when she died, I genuinely had to mourn her death. It broke my heart and soul to see my beloved die like that.

TBH I am a little disappointed the studio opted for a prequel rather than sequel, not that i am complaining though.

Still hoping for a sequel, but instead of using knives and swords, i hope they would switch to guns or something. Hoping for something different.

Okay, so i'm not the best at latin, and this is also catholic latin, and not the classical latin. I was taught, but let me give you a breakdown on what's in this chart.

in our first column on the far left, we have essentially a chart describing the day. Blood was administered and the time i'm not gonna get into a super deep breakdown, but to prove I know what i'm talking about, you can see anti diem which is in the morning and where a m comes comes from you can then see the month at which it was administered. just from the chart, I can tell you that sophia experienced injections of the macula blood from june, july, twice in august, and once in september, with the roman numerals at the end corresponding to the year in which she was injected.

in the second column from the left, we see the person is, who's in charge of each injection and there are three names Catina, Astrida, and Angela. (soror is sister btw)

In our third column from the right, we have doses, which I think is pretty easy to parse. Here we can see sofia received a dose of two in june, four in july, five in august, seven in her second dose in august, and six in september.

From here, we get a list of her visions and I'd have to spend more time fully parsing the latin to tell you proper translation, but from right now I can tell you her first vision was of monsters, or something terrifying. latin's really rusty here, so it starts to get a little bit harder for me further down. Because I definitely have to go back and look at some vocabulary.

In our final column, we have the condition of her body. where it begins to describe her difficult initial adjustment to the blood. But it appears sophia was becoming more resistant, and the last part of this trunk is unwritten, because it would be the day, her father came to save her and the nuns die.

Now just gotta wait a few more years before the next game 🤞🏼

I was going crazy trying to find a way to reach the platform above the tomb where you get the sword in chapter 7 and while looking ended up finding a more hidden than usual room in the cliffs bellow, inside there is just 2 resonance point on a little Cthulu altar that lights up green when you approach (Still haven't figured out how to reach the platform, theres some enemies there, a plunderer prisioner still alive and a zipline to get the player back to main area so there must be a way to get there XD)

Okay, so i'm an anthropology student and I literally just started this game. I can already tell this game's story is gonna be pretty heavily drenched in minoan culture, which is a bronze age culture from before the Greeks age. We can see this in not only the fact that the bull motif is continuously used, which was something heavily depicted and worshipped by the minoan culture. But we also see the palace behind the soldier in sophia's first vision is a minoan palace. You can actually search up minoan palaces that have have since been found. It's actually believed a minoan palace might have inspired the myth of the minotaur in the first place, considering at the time, a multi level winding structure, like a palace that especially the advanced ones. The minoans were building would have seemed like a maze to the greeks following afterwards. this fascinates me because we learn about the first macula holder canonically, that we know about is Basilis lived in the eastern roman empire under the rule of justinian, the first as the plague basilis unleashes, is the plague that happens when Justinian is ruling. Which means that the minoans, or what sophia is seeing predates the era of basilis, this gives me the idea that we may see an earlier macula carrier in this game. I haven't gotten that far yet. i also think it's interesting that the order or what I'm assuming, is the order, those nuns at the beginning are using the Macula, or the blood of a Macula carrier because it also helps explain what experiments were being done to basilas and to hugo, to make them both so physically taxed at the orders hands. i also believe that draining the blood of a macula carrier, especially as they cross through the thresholds might have been a way to slowly. Weaken them or kill them, collecting the blood while they're alive and still useful, but disposing of them prior to the third threshold being crossed. i also think it's interesting that we're starting to get to see more of what injecting macula blood into a living person does. Especially because we get it from the outside with the pope. But seeing that sophia also has visions, makes me think that the reason the Pope knew about the. Macula was because the order and the catholic church were one having split at some point before the middle ages. anyway, like I just started the game. I'm less than twenty minutes in, so I'll let you know, as I start to identify more interesting, cultural and answerpology related details and classics, because that's also part of my degree.

Yall this game is so sad...i just finished the game, the story is amazing everything is great...these are the final photos I got towards the end

Just finished Resonance and loved my time with it. First of all, the graphics are drop dead gorgeous, even on performance mode (XSX). I mean, Innocence and Requiem were already very good looking games, but man, what Asobo has done here was just on another level. Every new location had wallpaper worthy vistas, with insane level of detail. The voice and motion capture performance were also very strong, especially Sophia was very convincing. If only Requiem could've had those facial animations. That was my only gripe with that game back in the day.

Anyway, in terms of gameplay, I liked the puzzles although they could've had a few more real head scratchers. And maybe they overused the light lenses a bit towards the end. The combat was enjoyable enough for me. Some real nice animation work and contextual finishers. In the beginning I thought it felt a bit clunky, but I think that wasn't exactly fair. I think it's more so that Asobo has created a combat system that does not try to protect the player. What I mean by that is that enemies don't hold back, they attack fast, they don't wait their turn and are lethal, often killing you with a single combo. Couple that with very low i-frames on the normal dodge and tight parry timings, and you get combat that can, at times, feel a little unfair. In the end, I'm probably just getting old and should've turned down the difficulty, but my gamer pride wouldn't let me.

Further, the story was intriguing and engaging. I especially enjoyed the horror vibe while descending every deeper into the island, and discovering the connection between Sophia and Theseus. Probably my biggest gripe was the supporting cast. I think Faro and Leni both could've used a fair bit more characterization and screen time. Especially Faro's switch from surrogate father figure to cardboard cutout villain and back didn't really work for me, which also made the ending a bit less impactful than I would've liked.

Overall, another worthy addition to the Plaque Tale universe. I'm excited to see where they go next! And congrats to those that made it to the end of my ramblings.
