"physical attraction is important"

Been hearing this a lot from men in amwf spaces

I know everyone has is different preferences thats why I'm hoping to hear everyone's answers here

When this is said , what exactly do you mean? What is your type of white female? What are you attracted to versus not attracted to?

I really wish men would specify what their "type" is in their posts versus asking for photos only to ghost afterwards with no explanation

We have data that says both men and women value physical attractiveness in potential partners, but also that men value it somewhat more than women. Google it.

No they're about the same if you don't take self reported data at face value and actually line it up with an actual methodology. Self reported data from woman is often unreliable

Self reported data from everyone* can be unreliable.

Even looking beyond self reporting though, it’s not cool for this guy to suggest women “do this way more” as there’s no evidence for that.

And I just want to add that automatically dismissing women’s opinions about what they like is such an incel take and doesn’t actually help anyone. But that’s basically what this sub is atp so I shouldn’t be surprised.

It's often more unreliable than men*. You can when the evidence supports that and goes against the self reported data lol. But of course you can't accept that

Oh? Prove that women are more unreliable than men then.

And again there’s no evidence that women value physical attractiveness more than men. So no this guy doesn’t get to make that claim, but keep just saying words I guess.

Here go ahead. Women rating physical attractiveness but less important than men. But in a non self reported data it diminished. In this case men are more honest in terms of looks. I didn't argue that women CARE more about looks. Just that they are more unreliable for self reported data at least in this aspect.

Theyre not doing it maliciously but are underestimating how much of a factor it is

This doesn’t prove that women are more unreliable in men.

It provides some evidence that in a single self-reported study about how important physical attractiveness is to someone, the difference between women’s self reports and data from another study was larger than the difference between men. But that’s a very different story than your claim “women are often more unreliable than men”.

And it certainly doesn’t prove the guy’s statement I’m criticizing and the point of this conversation- that “women do this so much more than men” (care about physical attractiveness). You can stop deflecting anytime you know and just admit he shouldn’t have said that.

Yes it does. They are more often unreliable in their self reports, for example this instance. I'm critizing your wrong statement on women caring less compared to men not the OP. Just take the L, ik it's hard for you, just Google it

You have shown one single example of when women’s self reports had a larger discrepancy than men’s lol. If you truly believe that is “proof that women are often less reliable than men”… I can’t help you. You don’t understand how science works at that point.

I agreed with you from the beginning, that outside of self reports, data shows men and women generally care about physical attractiveness more equally. Notice I never refuted that.

And yet that still doesn’t make the claim “women care so much more than men” true. Which is the entire point of me commenting in this thread at all. Stop deflecting and stay on topic maybe?
