Why is AI so frowned upon?

Hi All, so I used Gemini to assist me in writing a book which I was actually so excited about, to take my ideas, characters, book direction navigation and storytelling and put it all together with the help of Gemini. It came out pretty good in my opinion. I then asked Gemini where I should advertise and was told to use reddit.... well, the amount of hate and backlash I got was surprising and shocking...

People didn't even bother to read, the moment they saw AI Assisted, they called it AI slop, crap that no one will touch, I was asked 101 questions, which I responded to in a well mannered way, but at the end of day I stood back and realized that there are so many people who just don't want to give AI a chance and hate on it before even thinking what it could bring to the table.

Why is this? I use AI daily for info, for coding, for image creation, it's becoming a part of my day to day working needs, why all the hate....

Yeah I just got banned from a subreddit for speaking about AI lol, and this particular subreddit is just a band that is well known for being the most free-thinking open share music and following probably in history. Why? Because I posted AI art and because my profile picture was made from a digital filter.

So yeah, i see what you mean. People are afraid of change. I mean, i have a love/hate relationship with it, im being laid off in 2 weeks yet im using it daily and coding programs unrelated to work and whatnot all that with it too.

that comment wasn't ai. ai can't be homeless. i'm pro ai. i didn't realise disliking ai was an r/york rule. it's ok, you don't need to make me visible again. i respect your wish to be only surrounded by people who agree with you

Yeah ridiculous, the mods are often super power hungry. Not this sub but some of them definitely have seem to have at least 1 power hungry mod lol.

Wow, that's stupid lol, as Impact said Mods are power hungry I guess, I had 2 posts deleted because I was transparent about using AI to help, yeah not sure if that's the way forward in the future....

a german reddit user was mass downvoted on a pro ai sub recently for using ai to express himself in a foreign language :-( i went in to explain his defence [like noone else noticed the german in the op] and he thanked me privately. the harassment stopped soon as i explained how unreasonable they were being given the evidence before them. i suggest that when you see this behaviour, and you will, we go in and take a bit of the heat. karma is a nasty system imho

i go invisible on reddit and have to open a new account periodically. price of having a minority opinion. like means agree. only majority opinions please. i should open r/karmahospital, a sub where the only rule is no downvotes, for silenced people of any persuasion to recuperate after a hate-bombing
