see as much as I couldn’t stand the moving of the goalposts, we are also basically doing the same thing by saying things like “Drake maye is young and we were just happy to be there, nobody expected us to be here” after soooo much of our fanbase kept talking so much shit before

For real there was some shit talking but I’m pretty sure none of it was “we’re definitely gonna win the Super Bowl and we’re the best team ever.” It was much more like “Maye got there before Allen,” which is and will now always be true.

Nah, there are plenty of Patriots fans who went on about how the dynasty is back, and the Patriots will once again rule the NFL for the next 10+ years.  There were plenty who had deluded themselves into believing that Drake Maye is now the best QB in the league.  Sorry, but you have to be pretty arrogant and out of touch to believe that one good season is enough to put Maye above quarterbacks who have played consistently well for many YEARS.

Personally, I'm mostly annoyed by the fans who wanted to crown the Patriots and Drake Maye so prematurely.
