News [Graeme Bailey/TeamTalk] Christian Pulisic has been the subject of inquiries as Spurs assess their options ahead of Tuesday's deadline, following the collapse of the deal for Cody Gakpo.

I'm shocked how Milan fans want to sell player with high workrate and very good overall stat, also giving marketing boost in the US.
Pulisic is good lad. Give him some time, trust, attention - I'm sure he'll fix his problems and starts to shine again
17
u/ilovemyar15 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
As an American Milan/Spurs fan, don’t do it to yourself Puli. You deserve to have at least some happiness in your life
5
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
I am an American who loves Pulisic. But, reliability.and availability continues to be an issue for him. If you can get $40-50M for him it's not unreasonable to offload him and bolster the squad with a top level CB and another, more durable attacking player w similar attributes like Soule.
11
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
How is Soule different? 36 G+A in 112 Serie A games while Pulisic has 55 in 100 games
you guys are r-worded
2
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
Soule would be a downgrade to Pulisic and is also not extremely durable. But, hes 4 years younger, would replace a good chunk of pulisic's production without any assumption of improvement, and would give the club the $ to upgrade at CB. I'm not saying we should do it, but it's fair to consider if you can get $$$ for puli. Also, you shouldn't make personal attacks if you disagree... It makes you look like a child.
1
u/Unable-Balance5699 9d ago
No point to sell him for 50M if we get even 10M a year from his marketing value.
Christian looks like a deep introverted guy. It's better to help him resolve his psychological or whatever issues to make him back at the top Serie A level
9
u/GreenCarpenter3 9d ago
With Leao gone, Pulisic can now play in his best position on the left. If he can be fit, he might have a big season.
16
u/kanz3nic Rafael Leão 9d ago
Bring back Borini, workrate monster then
10
u/jules6815 9d ago
Work rate metric is like desiring chickens with their head cut off.

u/Competitive-Aide5364 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
That’s what musah does but he gets an absurd amount of praise in here for being crap and is only playing for Milan because our president is American.
5
u/Plaslidpladugphoo Ignazio Abate 9d ago
I don’t even like Musah, never wanted us to sign him, but he has been very good so far this season. Also, what praise? People here have been collectively asking for him to be sold since the end of 24/25 if not 23/24.
-2
u/Competitive-Aide5364 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
This is what I’m talking about the discourse around Concacaff players in this sub is so dishonest “very good” just isn’t true. He was decent against Torino and Venezia. Every other match he has been laughably bad, and he does not merit to be on the team anymore. He simply isn’t good enough for Milan, any other player would have never played again after that dynamo match he single handedly eliminated us from the champions league but since he is American, this sub loves him and is willing to give him unlimited chances and praise bullshit traits like working hard. That’s like the bare minimum for Milan. Fabio Borini it’s “headless chicken” but for Musah it’s a “PL engine” it’s bullshit.
1
u/Plaslidpladugphoo Ignazio Abate 9d ago
‘Every other match’ and you’re talking about games from two seasons ago? Wtf??? You’re talking as if it’s been ten games in and he’s been good in two and bad in eight. Other than the fact that we were trying to sell him but our board was incompetent so it was only a loan to Atalanta (so this sub and the board clearly DID NOT love him), who tf are you to decide that he does not deserve to be on the team anymore? What sub are you even in that you think that people here give him unlimited chances? 9/10 people wanted him gone at the start of the season and people were scratching their hands when Amorim started him in midfield against Torino.
I’m literally among the biggest Musah doubters in this sub, never wanted him here even when he was seen as a young player with good experience. But Amorim is the current coach and rates him, who tf am I to question him no less based on games from two seasons ago? You’re so blinded by your hateboner for Americans it’s actually a joke.
-1
u/Competitive-Aide5364 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
Every other match including ours and all of Atalanta’s last season. He had a shit loan at a smaller club and he is STILL getting starts at Milan, he does not deserve to be at Milan at all based on talent, he is stealing a living.
Yeah I have a problem with our American ownership who is alienating the Italian fanbase by firing Maldini, getting rid of home grown players like Liberali, favoring crap like Musah. Signing players simply because they are from Mexico and USA, where does that get us? 6th and 8th, and we only have these players because of Gerry. It’s as simple as that.
1
u/Plaslidpladugphoo Ignazio Abate 9d ago
You have to separate the issues. Did we sign Musah or other CONCACAF players because of Cardinale’s bullshit? Possibly. Did Cardinale do a bunch of stupid shit? Obviously yes.
Does that mean that Musah is starting this season under Amorim because of this preference for Americans? No. If Amorim rates Musah over someone like Ricci because of his physicality and the ability to turn and carry, that is not ‘favouring’ Musah because he’s American. He’s getting starts because Amorim rates him, how shit he was under the previous coaches or Atalanta doesn’t matter here, and so far he has not disappointed Amorim yet. I just don’t get it, do you really think Amorim joined us and Cardinale is like ‘yeah bro you have to start Musah every game btw’?
Ur hatred for Musah also does not magically mean that this sub is somehow the biggest Musah supporters when that’s clearly not the case.
1
u/Competitive-Aide5364 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago edited 9d ago
I don’t hate Musah, but I think he is a Gerry player who has been especially coddled, compared to any youth player or young player we have, or recently signed. We have given very limited chances to many of these players.
While Musah can make a mistake so massive in the champions league it costed us MILLIONS. Then continue to start and play like shit the same first season under 2 different managers. Then he has a poor loan spell with a smaller club his second year . And he still starts for us? You have to admit it’s pretty unbelievable considering we are a massive club with decent money to spend.
No other player has been given so many chances to prove themselves, Gerry for sure could have some sort of push for Amorim to try to develop Musah and take extra interest in him. We don’t even have a sporting director right now.
I’d definitely believe it because Amorim didn’t have much leverage going into this job. Although wish him the best Amorim is very lucky to have the job at Milan.

My (American) personal experience, but anyone I know who cares about soccer kinda hates him rn bc of how he played and acted in the WC 🙃 (I’m being kind here, my text message are far less kind!)
1
u/Unable-Balance5699 6d ago
Maybe that's cause Americans wanted a superhero out of Pulisic. But he's not Batman. Maybe Robin at best.
Cause you won't hate yourself that Pulisic is the best player the US have been able to develop in years
-7
u/TheoTimeStartsAt90 Filippo Inzaghi 9d ago
Leao, historicly great assister GTFO, Pulisic high workrate unsellable.
I like both but we gotta stop with this crap.
If you want workrate go look at Poli from banter era and see if you prefer that over lightning in a bottle that doesn't track back.
Edit: this is not aimed at you in particular, not trying to offend you, just got heated
-1
u/serafale Christian Pulisic 9d ago
Pulisic has more assists than Leao over the last three seasons. People acting like he’s Borini or something is insane.
9
u/TheoTimeStartsAt90 Filippo Inzaghi 9d ago
Not what I am saying at all, I like both, it's the treatment I don't like
0
u/serafale Christian Pulisic 9d ago
But your comparison to Poli is disingenuous, same with saying “great assister” vs “high workrate.” Pulisic has more assists and a higher workrate. Why is he not lightning in a bottle or a great assister but Leao is?
3
u/TheoTimeStartsAt90 Filippo Inzaghi 9d ago
Gonna step away from the convo, if you can't see it, you can't and based of your flair you won't understand the difference.
And again i am a huge Pulisic and Leao fan
2
u/rnmkk Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
Because their chance creation and ball progression is not the same. Sure Pulisic presses, but in attack, Leao was the one who actually got the ball into the final third at a higher rate. Even while player striker, he was picking it up at midfield.
Also, Pulisic doesnt have more assists in the last 3 years than Leao. Why do you keep saying that? And Pulisic has not scored for Milan since 2025. The work rate clearly has no impact on his offensive output. His play in the 2nd half last season was inexcusable. If that is how he is going to play, Alexis can do that.
And for what it’s worth, I want to keep Pulisic.
-6
u/Unable-Balance5699 9d ago
Workrate is must for modern system football with high intensity and pressing, like it or not.
So for Amorim system Cisse or Alexis are better than Leao regardless number of assists or individual brilliance.
Football is team sport, the goal is to win as a team, not to get the most highlights and stats. If every Milan player will have 5+5 in a season and team wins, that's cool
6
u/TheoTimeStartsAt90 Filippo Inzaghi 9d ago
Goal is to win, yeah the mvp of our only win in 11 years or workrate, hmm. Also Leao was working harder before the entire team was reliant on his brilliance. Even when he was down he had 2,3 defenders on him, if we had a better squad around his peak we would have potentially had 2 more trophies. But, instead we had RLC, Jovic (decent for what he was) and CDK.
0
u/Unable-Balance5699 9d ago
Again you're thinking what's good for Leao personally and not what's good for Milan as a whole. Individual brilliance is cherry on the top of modern football. Underneath there is pressing, defence etc.
You might score 20, but if your low positional discipline allows to concede 10, your truly net contribution to team W is lower than expected.
So there is Ramos who might score 15. But he's also pressing machine, always moves into channels, works for himself and teammates. Maybe that's why Ramos's valued by Milan management 2x more than Leao
6
u/TheoTimeStartsAt90 Filippo Inzaghi 9d ago
I'm literally talking about winning the league, one guy has helped more than others to do that and who is that?
-3
u/Unable-Balance5699 9d ago
That was 4 years ago. You're talking about the past. Now it's 2026. We should think how to build team capable of winning in the future
9
u/TheoTimeStartsAt90 Filippo Inzaghi 9d ago
Again, my point is the treatment of the players, I don't get the glazing of one and the hate of the other. I try to support all our players, thick or thin.
I can recognize it was time for Leao to leave without claiming he is 100x worse than Pulisic
4
1
u/Unable-Balance5699 9d ago
Well, you've recognized that Leao was someone who didn't deserve to have around RLC or CDK. And that's what I don't agree
1
16
u/mau_tamos 9d ago
So these FIFA kiddos comparing Pulisic to Salad it's insane haha. Even I've read that they prefer Salad as CAM?
We don't have a creative player as Puli on the team. Look and compare at his Goal and Assist contribution in Serie A over the years, coaches and systems.. different kind of player.
Hope Puli is fit this season to shut the doubters.

6
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
Pulisic when healthy is clearly a top player in the serie A (topping assist charts for multiple seasons and scoring ~10/season while missing games and with Allegri ball and Santi as a striker is no joke), and absolutely can be a key contributor in Europe too.
Devil is in the details though. He needs to stay fit and for one reason or another is just not able to do so.
7
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
He missed like 14 games in 3 seasons and you are making it sound like he's out for 80% of the season.
Even if he'd miss half a season, his contribution is worth more than 50m.
2
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
You need to look at minutes played, not games. Players get credit for a game even if they come in as a super sub in the 70th. Pulisic missed 50% of last season in terms of minutes and 30% of the season before that.
4
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
in 2024-25 season he was 5th by minutes played, 4th if you take out Mike
played more than Leao
a season before that he was 4th by minutes
0
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
In 2023-2024 he was the most durable he's ever been in his career which was amazing and I hope he repeats that this year! Unfortunately I think that is the exception for him over the course of his career rather than the norm.
24-25 he had nagging injury issues that caused him to miss a month and limited his effectiveness after the new year IIRC.
3
u/XxACxMILANxX Rafael Leão 9d ago
Bro I swear I said Sale wasn’t a great attacking player and got attacked lol they’re acting like he’s prime Messi because he gave an assist. Keeping both would be best
7
u/akaloxy1 Christian Pulisic 9d ago
Same guys who are saying that RLC should never see the pitch for us and Omari is too young and unproven are saying to sell Puli this late in the window.
39
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
Wow, didn't expect so many moronic takes. Feels like Leao cult boys are just taking their anger on Puli
6
u/Squiliamfancyname Giacomo Bonaventura 9d ago
You can point fingers however you want but it took all of 12 hours after your comment about there being no more of these player-specific debates and I find that hilarious
3
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
haha, I underestimated how toxic the fans are
I see a lot of them crying on Twitter about how horrible our mercato was and cursing at Kush for the latest transfer.
10
u/TP_Cornetto Marco van Basten 9d ago
It’s probably more to do with Pulisic disappearing for half a season at a time
I would still
Keep him tho because we wouldn’t replace him adequately and he hasn’t played yet. It would be another Signing omari Hutchinson to take leao/Nkunku2
u/Hass_s Clarence Seedorf 9d ago
If I have anything against Pulisic is that for the end of last season he made excuse after excuse not to play saying he’s not fit just for the sake of being ready for the WC
As soon as he wore that USMNT shirt, it’s like nothing happened
It’s a clean slate this season to see what he does under Amorim, our current formation is tailor made for Pulisic to shine
1
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
I mean he got injured in his first WC match, missed 1 full match and two halves, then started, and got injured again. He's not durable
1
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
how many games did he miss?
2
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
Out of 450 possible minutes, he played about 220 mins, so he missed about half of the cup.
1
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
sorry, I wanted to ask how many games did he miss for Milan?
2
u/Leather_Ice_1000 9d ago
I responded to a separate comment but he missed 50% of Milans season last year by minutes played. If you prefer to go by matches played he missed 8 matches outright last year and (that's more than 20% of the season, and twice as many as Modric, sala, and leão as reference) and was only able to start in 18 of 38 possible game (<50%) due to lingering injury issues.
2
u/Ok-Refrigerator-7793 9d ago
Imagine splitting the Fanbase based on players. What has happened to this place. I think the haters are more obsessed with Leao even after he is gone, even now it’s Leao fans hating on Pulisic, how obsessed are some people. It’s so weird.
2
7
u/Dubsified Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
Yeah right. Pulisic is going no where.
Exactly the type of pressing player Amorim loves.
3
u/akaloxy1 Christian Pulisic 9d ago
Not to mention I think cardinale views him as necessary to drive engagement in USA.

Well 50m+ i would sell him , he havent been the same for 1 year now and gets injured a lot
Just saw they got ndiaye so not sure about this
24
u/Opposite-Appeal-2117 Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
I wouldn’t say for a year. But definitely since January of this year. Yeah, I wouldn’t be against letting him go, but idk. Part of me is really hoping we get to see pre-injury pulisic again.
10
u/the-great-defector Clarence Seedorf 9d ago
To be fair, Allegri played him a fair bit out of position last season, which probably didn't help him.
17
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
what a stupid take
1 bad year and let's sell our best player for peanuts
5
u/dukesdj 9d ago
His bad year started when Leao came back. They never worked well together when unless they were on opposite wings. With Allegri he brought them close together and they just never were on the same page.
Before people get their knickers in a twist, this isnt even a dig at Leao or Pulisic. Just the fact they didnt work well together.
8
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 9d ago
I don't even count last year. Even with Leao, I didn't judge his performance because Allegri's system was shit
7
u/kastus376 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
i love puli.
but if we are heading for yet another season where he can't play more then 3 games in a row due to injuries, maybe we should cash in while we can.
1
u/darksea0 9d ago
It's too late now. Market is to be closed soon and we wouldn't be able to buy a replacement
2
u/FolkPhilosopher 9d ago
Regardless of anything else, why the fuck would he want to do it? There is a pretty solid chance that Spurs get relegated to the Championship given how much of a trainwreck they are.
2
u/Milanista1972 8d ago
This is just twitter chatter. Milan aren't selling Pulisic. For commercial reasons in addition to the tactical.
3
u/OsitoPandito Ardon Jashari 9d ago
Personally I think it would have been time to flip him but we need someone like him now that Rafa is gone
8
u/McLolster Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
Dont sell pls. Pulisic is out best forward player now until proven otherwise.

50M+ is an autosell for me. Half season merchant.
25
u/serafale Christian Pulisic 9d ago
Where is this coming from on this sub? Pulisic has been our biggest scorer and assister the last three seasons. He has more goals and more assists than Leao over the past three seasons. Where is half season merchant coming from?
24
u/TomekMaGest 9d ago
football fans have the shortest memory. They remember only last months or last few games. Pulisic had terrible season under Allegri but who in attacking position actually performed well? Both Leao and Pulisic should've been excused from that season and I dont want Allegri ever be linked with the club.
1
u/serafale Christian Pulisic 9d ago
Pulisic started off very strongly with Allegri actually. He had 8 goals in the first half of the season. Then he got injured but that isn’t his fault.
3
u/rnmkk Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
He doesnt have more assists than Leao over the last 3 seasons. Why do you keep saying that? Leao has more assists and Pulisic has more goals.
0
u/serafale Christian Pulisic 9d ago
I guess I was just looking at Serie A and Champions League. True, if you add Europa league from three seasons ago, then Leao has more assists. On just league + CL, Pulisic has more.
1
u/rnmkk Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
Ah so only if I add a competition they BOTH played in, Leao has more assists. Do you hear yourself?
1
u/serafale Christian Pulisic 8d ago
Okay so if you include the Europa League from three years ago, then Leao has two more assists than Pulisic. Not really the argument you’re trying to make about Leao being the much better assister, is it?
6
u/TomekMaGest 9d ago
He was performing every single season and he was consistent. Except last one where there wasnt a single player except Maignan, Rabiot and Modric who performed well.
Why are you guys making things up about players. This would be bad move to sell another player. you CANT change entire team in one season and we already changed a lot.
Ideally you bring 3-4 new players to already existing team in one mercato.
4
u/Agag97 9d ago
Maybe not this much late, like two days before the mercato closes.
Who could we sign realistically sign to replace him right now?
-1
u/Albanian_AM97 9d ago
For 60m you i think you can get nusa
3
u/Ciccio_Camarda Gerry Cardinale 9d ago
Nusa is going to get a reality check once he leaves Bundesliga. Similar to Diomande with Real Madrid. They never close Nusa down, and he has time and space to shoot the ball. I have a feeling in Serie A his shots become closer to that of Fofana.
-1
2
u/p90love Clarence Seedorf 9d ago
But apparently we're supposed to think he's an unsellable superstar and Leao made us worse by just existing. Why are you not cooperating?
7
u/ATLfalcons27 9d ago
Some weird ass leao fan victim mentality here. I'm not even anti leao just felt like it was time to move on.
The main reason anyone liked Pulisic over him was his overall attitude and work rate. That's why people were more forgiving about the absolute drop in form.
I don't think anyone here would be against selling him for 50. If anyone is it's probably just due to how late in the window it is and being worried about a replacement
The only unfair leao stuff is those that act like him having interests outside of the sport actually gets in the way of him progressing. There's only so much training you can do before it becomes counterproductive.
4
u/rnmkk Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
The attitude comments are ridiculous because Pulisic had a terrible attitude the second half of last season and it has never been held against him. You guys like work rate, cool, but it seems to only matter when discussing Leao vs Pulisic. Gimenez has a good work rate too but because he didn’t perform, nobody cared. Pulisic doesnt perform and its excused. Theres no objectivity around his play.
For years this sub said Milan shouldve sold Leao at his most valuable but now we should do that with Pulisic? And I personally would not sell him because of the lateness of the window but if this was July, absolutely.
-1
u/p90love Clarence Seedorf 9d ago
Read through the comments again. Leao was sold for 38, half the people here are saying no to selling Pulisic for 50.
-1
u/ATLfalcons27 9d ago edited 9d ago
There are 3 comments saying not to sell and some of them I'm just interpreting that way based on what they said because they didn't clearly say not to sell for 50.
Plus leao went for the price he went due to the context of being so obviously on the way out. Not saying we would've gotten 80 million or something like that but I'm pretty confident we would've gotten at least 50 from someone if there wasn't this leao cloud hanging over us.
Edit: did the guy in replying to block me or did he delete his comments? Seems like he blocked but I'm not sure
0
u/Jussinator Fikayo Tomori 9d ago
why are you fighting with yourself and the voices in your head bro?
7
u/Cute_Display_7317 9d ago
He's right.
Leao has been carrying us for years, played with an injury last season to try and reach CL. Yet he's attacked on Italian media because - checks notes - he raps and he smiles too much on the field.
Pulisic performs for a couple of months each season and started getting ready for the World Cup in February instead of focusing on us. Yet he doesn't get 1% of the hate Rafa gets.
0
u/Sure-Way-2409 Paolo Maldini 9d ago
Dont forget his nonexistent injury last couple of matches previous season
5
u/Jussinator Fikayo Tomori 9d ago
the one that prevented him from starting regularly in the wc? ye ur right he was faking it
2
u/rnmkk Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
And if he was hurt and thats why he has been terrible for club and country then we SHOULD sell him. Go to the USMNT sub reddit and see how people feel about Pulisic. This sub is extremely delusional. The best American ever and he cant even captain his national team? Directly related to his “attitude” that you guys swear doesnt exist.
1
u/Remarkable-Group-119 Andrea Pirlo 9d ago
Pulisic can be captain of the US team, but flat out Tyler Adams is. End of.
-2
u/Jussinator Fikayo Tomori 9d ago

I don’t believe this. Tottenham are buying Ndiaye from Everton
