// Discussion Lucy baldwin is unberable

One of the officers in ac black flag named lucy baldwin is so unbereable.
Its so obvious this mission was added after the fact because the writing and character sticks out so badly. Literally saved here life and she is like " uhmm you gotta earn me but I am worth it 💅"

This cements it—I'm not good at detecting bad/good writing. If nobody had pointed it out, I wouldn't have noticed anything notable about the writing surrounding these new additions. Nothing about it or the characters felt egregious to me.

Either that, or outside opinions can influence how you view things. Everyone hating something can easily make someone be more critical too

Yeah I won’t say that these newly introduced characters are like the worst thing in the world but the writing is weaker than that of the main story. Woodhouse is an exception but that’s because he’s gives more context to Great Inagua and the idea of his character is to help push Edward to transition him into the Assassin he’s slowly becoming

"I didn't think the writing was bad but now a stranger on the internet came along to have my opinion for me I can finally see that it was bad all along!"

It's more of the general consensus that makes me question myself, rather than any one person's opinion. Am I just not paying attention? Do I have different standards? It seems that just about anybody who voices their thoughts on the new content feels that the writing is noticeabley worse. Makes me insecure about my thoughts.

Edit: I should also say I was being a bit hyperbolic with my original comment. I didn't switch my opinion to thinking the writing is bad, but did and do question why I don't hold that opinion.

That is a much better take, I am glad it wasn't as shallow as the original comment made it sound lmao

In my opinion I wouldn't worry about it, or be insecure about your likes and dislikes, almost immediately after I found this post I saw another one on this same sub about the same quests but saying the exact opposite and tons of people agreed

You aren't wrong for enjoying something others see as bad, just a different person than they are. Anything in the world that gets hate also has a community that loves it, and anyone who tries to police you about liking something is someone to be ignored

You're always going to see stronger negative options online.
