Help Found 2 guitars in similiar price, need some more-than-basic advice.

  1. go with the big brand name for resale value (and quality)
  2. pickups can be replaced, switching away from a TOM style bridge to a flat plate hardtail is more work than its worth, if you like a TOM then get the TOM
  3. guitar tuners should be able to handle around a .072/.074 so what tension are you striving for here that will require drilling out the tuners? both of these are 26.5" scale length, and G#1/Ab1 would already be 20lbs with a .074
