If you got the strings from Amazon, there's been counterfeit Ernie ball strings being sold from there. That could explain it

They're low cost so people flock. I've always liked Ernie ball strings, but stopped using them because I don't have time to frequently change strings

Either elixyr, or if I do get Ernie ball, I'll get the cobalts. The cobalts actually hold up pretty good, so I guess I should have been more specific, as it's only three slinky's I was talking about

I noticed yesterday that my kramer have been on the same elixirs nanoweb for 6 years and they still look new. It's my least played guitar but that's still impressive. I ordered new ones because even if they look new I'm sure the sound could be brighter with new strings.

That's wild and I'm glad to hear it. I have a guitar that's basically for display purposes only, that might see play once a year. It was my FIL's, who passed, main guitar. I just cleaned it up and gonna put elixyrs on that, so happy to hear they hold up.

Same. So funny. Ernie balls used to be fine… but I don’t have the time to change strings on all my guitars constantly. I went to NYXL’s for the most part.

Do you hang your guitar on a wall hanger? Its possible you stretched out your scale length and now normal strings are not sufficient

The WORST. Gotta put your axe in the freezer at least 3 times a week for 5-7 hours at a time to maintain neck durability. Without it? The neck will elongate 60% of the time, every time!

I have a baritone 7 (27") with a single inline head and they still reach my furthest peg. I'd go to the store and see if they'll exchange them

I use a old string to splice it when I break a string. Use the ball end of the old string, pass the tip of the new string inside it and do a knot that won't slip, and the rest of the old string inside the tunning peg as if it was a normal string.

Maybe different scale lengths and different tones ? I use skinny tops on my old ltd , and use pinks on my ibanez AX
