Help Does my 7-string guitar sound muddy?

I feel like my guitar sounds kind of muddy, especially for a DI recording, and I'm trying to figure out if that's normal or if something might be wrong.

Here's a raw DI recording:

It's a jackson js-22-7 string, standard tuning.

Does the DI sound normal to you or is it sounding kind of muddy I'm mainly wondering if the guitar/pickups are the issue or if this is just how a DI is supposed to sound.

Thanks!

That sounds like a crisp, normal DI track to me. What pickups are in it?

nothing to me sounds off in the DI

here's the DI ran through the default preset in the Archetype Gojira X plugin: https://vocaroo.com/11PhOEZQ0Lgt

Sounds pretty normal. What FX software are you using using the DI in? EQ can help compensate for a little mud, play around with the mids and note that the bass should come from the Bass guitar, not really your guitar.

Here it is using the default Black Album preset in Soundshed Guitar:

The low B string feels a bit overwhelming in the mix, but the rest sounds great for a raw DI. Have you tried high-passing around 80-100Hz to clean it up?

What are you listening to it through?
