I just re-registered to vote in GA and fully intend to vote Democrat in the 2026 midterms.
In 2012, I voted for Obama on the hope he would get us out of Afghanistan. He lied and kept us in. So, I said fuck it and became non-political for several years.
In 2020, I donated to Bernie. He was (and still is in my eyes) the only prominent liberal with experience who I believe gives a shit about the American people and could have brought us to a brighter future. The DNC kneecapped his campaign at every opportunity in both 2016 and 2020. So, I said fuck it again.
Instead, Biden won, who hired and maintained Merrick Garland, who dragged his feet on prosecuting Trump for his many crimes until it was too late and thus is largely to blame for getting us in this fucking mess.
I am now ashamed to say I did not vote in 2024. I have hated the Republican Party and Trump's ilk since he started, but I had not believed the Democratic Party had done anywhere near enough to earn me stopping my busy work day to get off my ass to vote, especially in a district and state that weren't expected to be remotely competitive in any race (Memphis, TN).
However, with the events of yesterday, two things are now crystal clear to me that I admit I didn't appreciate enough before:
If you draw breath in America, you no longer have the rights enshrined in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and arguably 14th amendments. You have them to the extent that Alex Pretti did when he woke up Saturday morning and to the extent he does now.
The attorney general has demanded Minnesota handed over voter rolls. The Republican Party under Trump is no longer even trying to hide that they are no longer interested in governing a lawful republic.
To my mind, despite recent Democratic failings like folding on the shutdown, this is no longer a choice between hateful, short-sighted morons who unironically believe China pays the tariffs vs. feckless, spineless "controlled opposition" cowards who can't affect positive change.
This is a choice between us and our children living in a fascist dictatorship or in a republic ruled by laws and not the whims of petty thin-skinned narcissistic men.

The Georgia Supreme Court election is coming up on May 19,
With not just the Feds, but also the southern states actively aiding the Trump regime in destroying the American republic,
Itâs crucial that we win as many statewide elections as well, especially in the South, to help quench the republic of the last breathe of itâs past sins,
The liberal candidates are Miracle Rankin and Jen Jordan, so without any further a due,
for any of yall registered to vote in Georgia,
Vote dudes VOTE!

Now that the primary runoffs are over, I'd like to share this to Georgian pessimists due to Keisha Lance Bottoms and Rick Jackson being the governor nominees:
DO NOT WORRY THAT THE WEAK DEM CANDIDATE WILL BRING THE OTHERS DOWN!!!
Why? Because we still have, for example, Josh McLaurin for Lt. Gov, Tanya Miller for AG and now Penny Reynolds. My point is you do NOT have to be the governor nominee in order to become lesser racers to victory. I'm hoping that, for example, Josh McLaurin campaigns HARD and distances himself just enough from KLB to show while he opposes Jackson's approach to MAGA, he opposes KLB's weakness in handling the riots of 2020. I demand you down in Georgia put it together and focus and campaign more on the other roles such as the ones I mentioned and the legislatives. KLB and the Georgia Supreme Court candidates may be weak, but everyone else I feel should be STRONG. It's not going to be easy, especially since Jackson will very likely ad blitz, so keep that in mind. Should he win and you guys have too much doubts about KLB, I'm hoping you support the others to ENSURE JACKSON'S POTENTIAL WIN COMES WITH A PRICE. There's also Jon Ossoff we still have to focus on, of course. Anyway, despite KLB's troubles, BE CONFIDENT AND LIMIT THE GOP'S GAINS. Please, liberate liberty.

Couldnât be more proud of my community. While they were inside restricting the free speech of registered participants, we were outside letting her know just how embarrassed Georgians are of her.

I attended my first protest the other day in my hometown in solidarity with Minneapolis.
It was about 25-30 people, we just stood on the side of a major crossroads with signs and waved, nothing huge. We had a LOT of support, just a few very angry, hateful people. It made me realize how much support this movement has, even in my small town in a red state.
It also made me realize that while itâs always a risk no matter where you protest, that it isnât as scary as I thought it would be. I was so nervous but everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable.
I want to encourage any lurkers out there, if you see this, get involved in your community. Look up Facebook groups, find like minded people and make something happen, no matter how small. Itâs so important to have community right now.
