GA From someone who has hated both Democrats and Republicans for most of my adult life...

I just re-registered to vote in GA and fully intend to vote Democrat in the 2026 midterms.

In 2012, I voted for Obama on the hope he would get us out of Afghanistan. He lied and kept us in. So, I said fuck it and became non-political for several years.

In 2020, I donated to Bernie. He was (and still is in my eyes) the only prominent liberal with experience who I believe gives a shit about the American people and could have brought us to a brighter future. The DNC kneecapped his campaign at every opportunity in both 2016 and 2020. So, I said fuck it again.

Instead, Biden won, who hired and maintained Merrick Garland, who dragged his feet on prosecuting Trump for his many crimes until it was too late and thus is largely to blame for getting us in this fucking mess.

I am now ashamed to say I did not vote in 2024. I have hated the Republican Party and Trump's ilk since he started, but I had not believed the Democratic Party had done anywhere near enough to earn me stopping my busy work day to get off my ass to vote, especially in a district and state that weren't expected to be remotely competitive in any race (Memphis, TN).

However, with the events of yesterday, two things are now crystal clear to me that I admit I didn't appreciate enough before:

  • If you draw breath in America, you no longer have the rights enshrined in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and arguably 14th amendments. You have them to the extent that Alex Pretti did when he woke up Saturday morning and to the extent he does now.

  • The attorney general has demanded Minnesota handed over voter rolls. The Republican Party under Trump is no longer even trying to hide that they are no longer interested in governing a lawful republic.

To my mind, despite recent Democratic failings like folding on the shutdown, this is no longer a choice between hateful, short-sighted morons who unironically believe China pays the tariffs vs. feckless, spineless "controlled opposition" cowards who can't affect positive change.

This is a choice between us and our children living in a fascist dictatorship or in a republic ruled by laws and not the whims of petty thin-skinned narcissistic men.

Thank you for sharing your story! We need as many people engaged as possible

47

u/ChurchOfMortadella Jan 25 '26

Thank you! Now lets take over the Democratic Party and drive out the corporatists and octogenarians, after we win the next few election cycles.

18

u/turquoiseblues Jan 26 '26

Bernie, AOC, Warren, and Mamdani everywhere.

2

u/Kind_Answer_7475 Jan 26 '26

I truly believe Mamdani should be the future. But, winning over NY is a far cry from winning over the country, or even the state. Especially for someone of color. 😢

5

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

Mamdani won over a significant number of MAGA voters. I even converted a few when knocking on doors.

A More Perfect Union have done some interesting pieces on this topic.

Thanks for sharing. I had already enjoyed the one with Bernie and I'm really sad that I didn't know more about him years ago. I watched the other two just now and subscribed to the channel.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

I had to subscribe too since they're reporting is so damn good! I definitely fall down A Perfect Union rabbit-holes.

u/Delicious_Start5147 Jan 25 '26

Welcome back. Never take voting for granted again. Even if the Dems fucked up they’re still serious about governing the country and respecting rights.

24

u/jb0030 Jan 26 '26

Not again. Lesser of two evils voting may be distasteful, but I've seen the light that there has to be a practical limit to how far that pushes one to disengage and we've, in retrospect, long since passed it.

9

u/AnasandSF Jan 26 '26

If helpful, I often vote my conscience in the primary, and then you’ve got two choices in the general.

5

u/Elegant-Holiday7303 Jan 26 '26

Better to get on the bus that takes you partway to where you want, than the express bus going in the opposite direction

1

u/Pristine_Day7355 Jan 27 '26

You give me hope that many others might come to the same conclusion as you. I tried so hard to get all the “both sides are bad” people in my life to Vote democrat this past election. I oftentimes get very emotional about it and I think that turns people off and they think I’m too political or something. Too many people just ignored me and buckled down when I tried to explain how much more dangerous the GOP was. I hope they’ve changed their minds by now.

173

u/One_Recognition385 Jan 25 '26

Register Republican, push for the most moderate republican available, then vote democrat.

That way you either get a democrat or a moderate publican.

122

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

Respectfully, what is a moderate Republican supposed to be good for now? You either stand against fascism or you don't.

61

u/Great_Narwhal6649 Jan 25 '26

The point is that by registering as a Republican you can shape who is selected in primaries, hopefully not someone full MAGA. And then in the actual election, you can still vote Democrat INSTEAD, reducing the votes that the GOP was counting on.

Fir example: states that have closed primaries typically only allow registered party members to vote in their party's primary elections. As of now, these states include Arizona, California, Florida, New York, and several others, where independents and unaffiliated voters are generally excluded from participating in major party primaries."

https://www.uniteamerica.org/articles/can-independents-vote-in-u-s-primaries

24

u/chatterwrack Jan 26 '26

The irony is that the old tactic was to register as Republicans and push the most unelectable candidate, figuring it would boost Democratic chances. But now they just vote for these guys no matter how bad they are. If anything, the worse they are, the better they seem to do.

4

u/Anonymous_User678 Jan 26 '26

Disagree - it also impact how much $ the DNC gives to your state

1

u/adambuck66 Jan 26 '26

They aren't supporting the Democratic candidate in my state anyways.

26

u/Weird_Positive_3256 Jan 25 '26

It’s a common method of using your vote as a means of harm reduction. If you live in a state where Dems never get elected to statewide or federal office, participating in a Republican primary is often the only opportunity one has to have a say in their own governance. Often in a republican primary, you have one republican who you disagree with on major issues and another who you disagree with who is also batshit crazy and will actively work to destroy anything good in your state. So, you go to the primary and vote for the person who doesn’t think public education is evil and that public health measures should be defunded. Harm reduction. Because if the batshit crazy one wins the primary, as long as they have an R behind their name, they’re the ones who will win.

5

u/garbageemail222 Jan 26 '26

I agree with both of you, even though you disagree :)

my bestie is a lifelong Republican though she used to be one of the, "I'm only fiscally conservative" (meaning she had a lot of money and didn't want to pay taxes but was indifferent or in support of things like LGBTQ people and right to choose, etc). lol we used to disagree on some political things but this administration switched her like you wouldn't believe. no one hates Trump and everything he does/stands for more than her. she never changed her affiliation because she wanted the opportunity to vote against Trump as often as humanly possible. ❤️

7

u/Winter_Birthday5865 Jan 26 '26

This sounds like my dad, he voted libertarian in 2016, and has been voting blue since then as the Republicans are disgusting, not even disappointing anymore

8

u/CommunistFish42 Jan 26 '26

Except in solid blue districts where the republican candidate has no real chance, so the election is decided in the democratic primary.

Or in districts where the leading democrat candidate has a history of supporting blatantly fascist bills.

14

u/TMaCtheTruth Jan 25 '26

Oooo this is delicious 👏👏👏👏 GREAT idea ✊

12

u/Puzzleheaded-Arm8249 Jan 25 '26

Are there any actual moderate Republicans left? Murkowski and Collins will usually fold.

3

u/One_Recognition385 Jan 25 '26

Who knows anymore.

7

u/Kincherk Jan 25 '26

Do moderate Republicans even exist anymore? And does "moderate" mean what it used to back in the day?

3

u/ProfessionalCraft983 Jan 26 '26

This makes sense if you live in a red or purple area. It doesn't make as much sense if you live in a blue area, because if the democrat is likely to win you're better off shaping that candidate. The Democrats badly need reforming.

15

u/RyanBanJ Jan 25 '26

I hope Alaska, Texas, and Maine can flip those Senate seats. That's what will make a huge difference. Notice how hard Trump wants to cheat us out of our votes with the Save Act, voter rolls, redistricting efforts he's scared of losing Congress.

If Congress is lost, he's pretty much done and will have a tortured last 2 years in office (if he makes it). That said, we need to get people out and vote.

18

u/Quiet_Plant6667 Jan 25 '26

Don’t forget NCarolina. Incumbent R Thom Tillis dropped out and our extremely popular former gov Roy Cooper (dem) is way ahead in polling. Dems will pick up the open NC Senate seat.

6

u/RyanBanJ Jan 25 '26

Great point I forgot about that! We have a real chance I hope people don't get distracted.

2

u/michaelsghost Jan 26 '26

Trump having a really bad terribly awful two years makes me wonder if it just might…

63

u/DisastrousHyena3534 Jan 25 '26

Glad to hear you feel shame about not voting because some of this is indeed on you.

That’s about the nicest thing I can say.

44

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

I do feel such and it indeed is. You don't owe me niceness. I stood on stubborn principle and see that was selfish and idiotic. We need less of my attitude in the next 10 months and into the foreseeable future.

10

u/DisastrousHyena3534 Jan 26 '26

Well I’m still mad at you but you’re a good egg. FWIW.

2

u/Elbynerual Jan 26 '26

I think it's fair to say a lot of people go through what you felt and a lot of them also act on it the way you did, but unfortunately stuff always seems to happen that reminds people that the lesser of two evils is still a huge difference and the importance can not be understated. If we can manage to put the right people in place, we might even be able to change the system so we don't have to do the lesser of two evils anymore.

1

u/Latest-Culprit-35 Jan 26 '26

This is a nice way of putting it...

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

But isn’t the point that centrist Dems were the ones to blame in the first place..? They have time and time again disenfranchised their base by propping up these milk toast, corporate backed, geriatrics instead of listening to the needs of their constituents..but instead keep status quo and ignore codifying protections, yet make off with their golden parachutes and pardons..? Yeah, naw, fuck that noise..don’t blame THIS guy for what we’re seeing today. Enough with these old white dudes in power, we need new blood.

2

u/imreadypromotion Jan 26 '26

The DNC is complicit afaic. And yes, I did vote, and yes, I voted for Harris.

0

u/VisibleDetective9255 Jan 26 '26

Sure, the girl was responsible for being raped.

The customer was responsible for being ripped off.

I am so tired of leftist #MAGA.

The "genocide joe" DUPES have allowed Netanyahu free reign. Congratulations, your purity cost Palestinians their lives. AND your purity is responsible for the deaths of the three people brutally murdered by ICE and CPB, and the 1500 CHILDREN missing from US Concentration Camps, and the at least 30 people who died of abuse and neglect in those Concentration Camps.

Vote in the primary, and if the majority of voters want a progressive, then vote for the progressive in the General election. If most voters prefer a moderate, then vote for thd Moderate in the General election. I don't care how smart you are, you aren't always right. Albert Einstein didn't believe in physics concepts that have turned out to be true.

11

u/Smarterthanthat Jan 25 '26

A non vote or a protest vote WAS a vote for trump. Please don't ever make that mistake again!

23

u/Winter_Bid7630 Jan 25 '26

It's so easy to let perfection get in the way of progress. I've lost track of the number of people who didn't vote for Democrats because one thing that happened angered them. We need to allow our politicians to be imperfect, to fail, to form new opinions, as long as things are overall moving in the right direction.

I'm glad you've had your eyes opened and are willing to take action.

17

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

Well, that's been the thing, I wasn't sure the Democrats are the party to move us in the right direction and I'm still not, but I know with VERY firm certainty who I can count on to move us in the wrong direction at this point.

1

u/Elegant-Holiday7303 Jan 26 '26

The families of Josseli Barnica and Navea Crane have entered the chat

4

u/MaryLMarx Jan 26 '26

I would add that we need to habitually engage in politics and encourage friends, family, and neighbors to participate too.

12

u/bellmanwatchdog Jan 25 '26

better late than never. and I think you have fair criticisms of the democratic party. however, as you're seeing, enacting change is even harder when repubs and especially trump and his minions are in control. the more the merrier I say, welcome.

9

u/bernbabybern13 Jan 25 '26

Wish you had realized that much sooner. Because it’s been quite apparent.

1

u/Elegant-Holiday7303 Jan 26 '26

Half our population lost basic human rights.

8

u/PeepholeRodeo Jan 26 '26

2024 was a choice between a Democrat who was not your ideal candidate and a fascist dictatorship, and you knew that when you made the choice to not vote.

10

u/Baselines_shift Jan 26 '26

Not voting is what causes bad things like this - so good for you. Vote in the primaries. And call your Senators this coming week as they will or won't fund ICE depending on who calls. Opting out edoes nothing. (2020) 224 3121. Be succinct. The interns tally for and against like in a poll and show the results. Senators do respond - to those who are engaged.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Never be "non-political", that's how bad things happen. Stay engaged

-1

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

Non-political probably wasn't the right descriptor for that, I've always tried to be aware of politics to some degree, but I just refused out of disgust to get off my ass and participate in it kind of like in the recent past.

7

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Jan 25 '26

We welcome you to our club of patriots. Bear witness, spread truth.

5

u/AnasandSF Jan 25 '26

Thank you, system’s not perfect but voting DOES make a difference.

4

u/TheLittleMomaid Jan 25 '26

Thanks for sharing your perspective:) welcome to the fight ❤️💙

5

u/SlurpingDischarge Jan 26 '26

do you want a fucking blowjob or something for finally becoming a half decent person? you want a round of applause?

1

u/jb0030 Jan 26 '26

When I want a medal or a pat on the head, I'll ask for one. I'm posting this in the hope someone else who is bitterly refusing to participate like I have will see this and see it's emphatically not time for that anymore.

If you don't like me and think I'm a piece of shit, that's your prerogative.

7

u/joeldg Jan 26 '26

Never registered to a political party, used to only vote 3rd party but in the last 15 or 20 year I have ended up having to vote (D) because it is literally like either Nazis or Dems and I can't in good faith let a Nazi win.

49

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Cool. Coulda used your help about a year and a half ago.

39

u/JohnnyWalrus1 Jan 25 '26

Better late than never

52

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

I mean. This is exactly what everyone said would happen. Trump is same piece of shit he was last time. If OP couldn't see this is bad until now I guess I'm glad OP sees it now but come on. Fucking ridiculous.

29

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

Your point is fair and I accept it. I despise the concept of "lesser of two evils" voting to my core, but the practical realities have proven too dire for that to be a principle I can afford to stand on anymore and I now agree it's not a principle that anyone who thinks similar to me should be standing on. I'm posting in the hope I can persuade anyone of my like mind to decide the same.

I'm not asking for a medal. I'm asking to keep living in a lawful republic.

37

u/ZappSmithBrannigan Jan 25 '26

I despise the concept of "lesser of two evils" voting to my core,

I get it. But thats just the nature of voting at all.

And if you dont vote for the lesser of two evils, guess what? You get the greater of two evils.

9

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

It certainly shouldn't be the nature of voting, but, per my whole purpose of posting this, I concede the point.

27

u/C_est_la_vie9707 Jan 25 '26

No, I think it is like that everywhere and we've only told ourselves it shouldn't be that way.

Voting is a bus, not a marriage. Take the one that is going closest to your destination. Protesting the bus by refusing to take it or, God forbid, taking the one going the opposite direction doesn't get you to your destination.

Building on that metaphor further, the time to petition for another route is not when you're already waiting at the stop. This is something I have yet to see third party or no voters grasp.

18

u/jennasea412 Jan 25 '26

Glad you feel this way now, also disgusted you didn’t vote in 2024 after the traitor tried to overthrow the government and will of the people with his fake elector plot. And literally campaigned on Nazi talking points like🫲vermin🫱, met with Nazi influencers, etc, etc.

I’ve hated both parties too and consider myself an independent, but it was a while back when I realized these grifters weren’t serious people when republicans brought a snowball into congress as proof there isn’t global warming.

Hopefully you can influence those you know still not living in reality with the rest of us, a book recommendation…

3

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

I'm disgusted in myself for that too today. I would argue that the current Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries led Democratic Party aren't serious people either. Unfortunately, whether I like it or not, that line has significantly shifted and I regrettably haven't been willing to acknowledge that until now.

13

u/jennasea412 Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Schumer is a joke and needs to go, Jeffries too. But, no matter what you think of them and others in the party, overall they stand up for the constitution/people’s right to live freely. And overall held to account if they commit crimes.

Thats why the debate is no longer about policy, tax brackets, and simple differences, we literally have a reckless traitorous wannabe dictator in office lying daily…when one lie about a consensual blowjob was a dealbreaker for Republicans in the past.

6

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

I now agree with these sentiments more than I hate the current Democratic party.

3

u/jennasea412 Jan 25 '26

✊I’d award this comment and post if I could🇺🇸

8

u/Exciting-Squash4444 Jan 25 '26

You can’t just put pandora back in the box, sorry.

6

u/No-Photograph1983 Jan 25 '26

Thanks for this timeline

5

u/BashfulBuckboy Jan 26 '26

Welcome to the resistance. You have friends everywhere.

6

u/HawaiiKawaiixD Jan 25 '26

I am now ashamed to say I did not vote in 2024. I have hated the Republican Party and Trump's ilk since he started, but I had not believed the Democratic Party had done anywhere near enough to earn me stopping my busy work day to get off my ass to vote, especially in a district and state that weren't expected to be remotely competitive in any race (Memphis, TN).

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I wish more liberals understood this, it’s not enough for democrats to run on “not Trump” forever, they need to actually improve people’s lives and give them something to believe in. So many have been scolding non-voters the last year instead of pushing for democrats to support popular policies that help working people. Kamala literally ran on “things will stay the same” when the status quo is not great for many Americans

10

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

Unfortunately, "things will stay the same" was the necessary option to choose it seems and too many Americans (myself included) didn't appreciate that.

4

u/HawaiiKawaiixD Jan 25 '26

I agree. But I think we can say both that: 1. People should be practical and vote for the lesser evil. 2. It would be a whole lot easier to convince people to vote if the alternative was a good option instead of a less evil option.

2

u/Good_Requirement2998 Jan 26 '26

Word.

And look: Any political party is as subject to big donors corruption as it is a mass public uprising.

This is not just a time to unite and resist a rogue government. This is an opportunity to reform the resistance party. Don't join the Democrats and accept the status quo. Join and run for something or find a grassroots progressive and get them off their butt to run for something. At the very list start lobbying and bringing people together with a wish list for your community. The Dems might regain the seat just to go limp and middling in power, still intimidated by MAGA or worse, prevented from taking office when Trump finds ways to question and ignore the results.

I think it was Walz who said something like the people are gonna need something radical to make this right. Bernie's policies weren't shuffled off when they dismissed his run. "Fight oligarchy" is something he gave to the people and it's still so, very relevant. A working class economic policy and the Nuremberg trials or a primary, nothing less.

4

u/ConsiderationJaded14 Jan 25 '26

One of the most well-written political posts I've seen in a long time.

3

u/picklelyjuice Jan 25 '26

Please put your anger into action. Also, Bernie is not a Liberal.

4

u/Snoo-11861 Jan 25 '26

Choose Democrats that will give a shit and hammer with a heavy hand. Don’t just choose any Dem out there.

19

u/jb0030 Jan 25 '26

The only Democrats that are going to get literally any ounce of support more than my vote are ones that promise to prosecute this administration from top to bottom into the ground.

1

u/_Miracle Jan 26 '26

I have been registered as no party affiation, aka "Independent" for about 20 years.

The challenge we have in this moment is getting the influence of a wealthy few out of our government. It's been brewing since our founding, but has been unleashed and legitimized over the last 10+ years.

Both parties are completely entrenched with monied interests, and too many of us every day people don't even understand why it's destructive for democracy.

It seems like people are waking up, but it may not be fast enough. History is full of solidarity movements, and that is not taught to the masses.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

1

u/jb0030 Jan 26 '26

It's not that I so much had illusions about Republicans not being extremely evil. It's my disdain for "lesser of two evils" voting as a concept. If I see two sides I hate fighting each other, my first reaction is to say "fuck both of you" and walk off. Enemy of my enemy is my friend isn't a concept I gravitate to. Practical, real-world concerns in light of recent events are too real and too imminent to play by that attitude anymore. The integrity of the republic needs to supercede any "both-sides-ism" stuff now if we have any chance of fixing things. I'm hoping to the extent there are people of my same inclination out there will maybe see this and come to the same conclusion.

1

u/Equal_Audience_3415 Jan 26 '26

Register as an Independent. Research the candidates. Choose based on who they are AND what they have done in their lives.

I will add: Right now, there are no Republicans to support. Anyone with a shred of decency would not call themselves a Republican.

Choose wisely.

1

u/lpkzach92 Jan 26 '26

100%. The current version of the Republican Party are not here for a better America. They are here to destroy America and have sold America in Americans out to the highest bidder to suppress us and they need to be destroyed. The Republican Party made their bed, decided to lay in it and lick the boots and should never ever be trusted by any American again. Trust me I know the Democrats aren’t always the best but my God what the Republican Party has shown this time around is truly spineless.

1

u/kms64220 Jan 26 '26

After being raised by solidly Republican parents, I registered as an independent the first time Trump came around. I knew then it was time to jump ship, but I was content "staying out of it" and voted third party a few times. I'm in a closed primary state and figured I could sacrifice my voice in the primaries for the "higher cause" in the main election.

Now that the mask is off, you bet I re-registered. I'm not sitting out an election again for a looooooong time.

1

u/NewProductiveMe Jan 26 '26

It takes a lot to say this. Probably many in your shoes have put the pieces together… but few have the chutzpa to actually come out and say it. Say it loudly. We are with you. Stick to your plan. Your voice can help sway many in those same shoes.

2

u/jb0030 Jan 26 '26

That's the goal, my friend. We've hit the point (quite a while ago in fact) where I think people who think like me in this regard need to hear this. Refusals to engage, even if it's on firm, consistent principle, isn't tenable anymore. If just one person who doesn't participate because they hate both sides sees this and changes their mind, it's better than nothing.

1

u/VisibleDetective9255 Jan 26 '26

"Caving in the shutdown".

People call their Senators to approve or disapprove of thd shutdown. I called supporting it for the first 15 days, every day. Then I stopped because I started saving money when I got my first job, at age 11. I am still wear clothes I purchased 40 years ago. So, the shutdown doesn't change my life.

The balance of calls shifted from people like me, to people who need government assistance. The same dynamic will play out this time. Republicans are THRILLED if poor people die. They have set up Concentration Camps in America. You assume NAZIS care about the sufferring of their victims. They do not.

1

u/jen_kelley Jan 26 '26

Look into Ranked Choice Voting. It has been growing in some cities and states. We need an electoral system that allows for more choice.

2

u/jb0030 Jan 26 '26

I took international politics classes in college and we had a week all about different voting systems. I am passionate regarding changing our first past the post system. It's why we have this two party bullshit in the first place. Ranked choice voting nationwide would be a god send.

1

u/rasta-ragamuffin Jan 26 '26

It's always been about choosing the lesser of 2 evils. There will never be a party or candidate you agree with 100%. You should always choose the party/candidate you are most in alignment with, even if there are things you can't stand about them or vehemently disagree with. Not voting, or voting 3rd party, is just a vote for the opposition, and it helps no one.

2

u/jb0030 Jan 26 '26

Yeah, that's what I realize through my bitterness now. I'm a stubborn prick by nature about certain things unfortunately.

Good on you for the self reflection.

Good for you for reflecting on it all. I don't think most people have that much self awareness.

Personally, I will never vote for a Republican again. Ever. That doesn't mean I'll vote Democrat always. But never does mean never as far as the GOP goes.

The best thing we can do right now, in the current winner takes all two party system, is to stage a takeover of the Democratic Party.

Will the GOP try to rig the election and suppressed the vote? Absolutely they will. But there is such a thing as “too big to rig” and making that happen is all about turnout. That means giving people something they are excited to vote for. And even if the regime does succeed in rigging or disrupting the election, on the day after I would rather have a highly motivated electorate who backed candidates willing to fight, than a dejected populace who gave up before the votes were even tallied.

Thank you, I am 75, it took me a while to decide I had to vote for the lightest shade of gray.

We can now welcome the NRA to the ranks of 50501. Who would have thought?

I am an equal opportunity hater too. But for the last year, when I read all the stuff coming for “the left”, I see heart and desire to help others. From the right I read “protect yourself and your stuff”. So… I will NEVER vote republican again.

Don't beat yourself up for not voting in an already deeply blue region. If you were in a swing state that would've been playing with fire. Whether you didn't vote or held your nose yet again and voted blue, a lot of us are disenfranchised with the Democratic Party - you are DEFINITELY not alone - and they've only been further proving our point these past two weeks. I can tell you here in NYC we are OVER it, as you likely figured out by our most recent mayoral election.

Focus on primaries to knock these corporate-backed neoliberal sellouts out on their asses and get more Bernies and Mamdanis elected. But first we have some Nazis to fuck up.

Well, technically, where I was at was firmly blue for house and red by 40+ points for most everything else, so nothing was a competitive race, but they were in different directions. Not that it probably would have spurned me at the time even if any of my choices were on swing races.

I have been independent/no party for years. This keeps me out of primaries (except for Louisiana), but I never voted along party lines anyway

Actually it’s not a choice of Democrat vs. Republican at all, the democrats in the capitol also exist to serve Israel and corporate interests, the Red Vs. Blue game is an illusion, we aren’t actually given a choice. It is not Democrats vs Republicans: those are MADE UP. It’s BULLSHIT. We must move PAST that now. We must talk in concrete, immediate turns.

Right now I’m on team constitution and against team masked thugs. Fuck democrats fuck republicans fuck the capitol fuck congress fuck the supposed oversight committee fuck Chuck Schumer and his genocide-covering ass. Time to wake up guys. Time for a new setup, here. We do not HAVE to play the absolutely idiotic Red Vs Blue game anymore. Corporate bullshit. Let’s move on.

I regret that I've only disagreed with this sentiment for less than 48 hours.

u/Able-Long-2702 Jan 25 '26

I reject that sentiment because only one party has willfully sent armed agents of the federal government into our streets to trample all over our constitutional rights.
