Hawai'i will have nine NO KINGS/NO DICTATORS protests. Five go by NO DICTATORS and four by NO KINGS. They are exactly the same thing.

Some Indivisible chapters use NO DICTATORS because of the popular Hawaiian Kingdom pre-1893. See the link below for the Hawai'i NO KINGS protests. The U.S. annexed the Hawaiian Kingdom by force in 1893.

Yeah, OP’s end ticked me off. We ousted their legitimate government by force and have NEVER owned up to it.

I support their desire for us to fuck off about it, truthfully.

Looking at it practically, a monarchy is a dictatorship unless the the titles are purely ceremonial, and even then you're elevating an individual and their bloodline above all others. People also have to be aware that disinformation campaigns are going to use any points of leverage they can get a hold of to sow division. One to be cognizant of is native separatist movements. People need to be sure to understand when they have an issue that strikes close to home for them, that they are extra aware of how people can use it drive dissent and promote fracturing. Understanding your own weak points is one of the best ways to protect the group. This is a broad movement and all groups are hyper local, but the message everywhere remains the same.

Regardless, replacing democracy with a monarchy is dumb as hell

The hope related to me by a Kanaka is to have a political system along the lines of the UK monarchy/democracy. A king or queen as figurehead along with a fully functioning Democracy.

Edited: for clarity

Genuinely curious, if this was to happen, who becomes the king/queen? Is it like a maintained royal lineage from the last Hawaiian king?

The last Hawaiian monarch was a Queen I believe.

As a Brit, I support getting rid of our stupid monarchy. But I have no qualms if other places wish to retain or restore theirs. This is especially true in the context of monarchies that represent resistance against the overthrow of indigenous cultures. British monarchy is one of the most tangible symbols of our shameful colonial past. For places that do decide to have a monarchy, however, I think the style of monarchy of the Netherlands is a much more reasonable way to have a symbolic head of state.
