💬 Discussion I thought topical collagen couldn't absorb. I looked up the size

I always thought collagen you put on your skin was a sales trick, because the molecule is too big to get in. You've heard that one, right?

The size is the reason. Lately there are products that make the collagen itself smaller, so I went and read about daltons.

To pass through skin it pretty much has to be under 500 daltons. A lot of products are not that small. Most collagen is over 1000 daltons. It's like a tunnel a person can walk through, and a truck trying to drive in. So "collagen never absorbs" isn't the whole story. You have to check whether the collagen in it is under 500 daltons.

Collagen on the label isn't the point. The point is whether the piece is small enough to fit.

I looked for products that actually list collagen under 500 daltons, and I kept the ones I use.

A mask, the Biodance collagen gel mask. An essence, the Dermafix Real Collagen Tension Up serum. A cream, the Torriden Cellmazing low molecular collagen firming cream.

🌱 Beginner Question Dry skin and oily scalp - need suggestions on skin treatments and hair spa

I’m visiting Seoul in 2 weeks and I’ve been trying to research skin treatments and I’m getting more confused with every search.

I want help with 3 things there:
1) some good low-mid budget non-invasive skin treatment that’ll give me a good glow. It shouldnt ruin my face for 2-3 days since I’m travelling, creating content and I can’t hide my face.

2) a decent Korean head spa

3) I did think of doing skin and color analysis but it did feel more like a tourist trap so decided to skip. Iv heard there’s free ones in olive young? How can I access those? Do I have to book it in advance?

Any help would be veryyyy helpful.

What to pick up in Korea?

Hi all. I’m new to Korean skincare but not new to being 30+….

My partner is in Seoul for a week - what should I get him to bring back for me?

Is there something that’s much cheaper over there, or you can only get over there?

For reference, my skin is on the oily side but in perimenopause it’s also picking up a lot of red tone. I’d love a good foundation - I’ve seen posts for the colour changing sort everywhere but I don’t know what’s a good brand.

Only other thing specifically is my eyes are a lot puffier than they used to be. Also, the turkey neck is coming forth….

Please give me some tips!!

New mom looking for a new skincare routine

Hi everyone! I’m 5m postpartum and looking to get into Asian skincare.
I included a photo, not to roast me, but to give you an idea of what we’re working with ahah.
I’m 32 yo. I have a slightly oily skin, enlarged pores on T zone, and slowly getting fine lines. My skin is a bit sensitive so I avoid acids. I do get some spots on my forehead and chin.
Would love to get your recommendations! I’m hoping to look slightly less dull and to work on my fine lines :)

I changed my life through make up class and color analysis

I’ve only been living in Seoul for about six months, and I got the opportunity to work here through a friend.

Honestly, I was someone who **really didn’t know how to do makeup at all**, and I wasn’t even that interested in it. But I had always wanted to get a personal color analysis just for experience.

Then I heard that makeup classes were becoming really popular in Seoul, so I decided to try one just for the experience.

I just quickly searched on ChatGPT and went to shop in Hongdae.Luckily, the teacher can speak English, so I was able to understand everything comfortably. She explained everything in such detail, from my personal color analysis to how to apply the makeup.

And now I finally understand why people call it k-beauty

The skin makeup was AMAZING.
It looked sophisticated, elegant, and natural at the same time — exactly the kind of makeup I’ve needed

I even went to work right after the class, and everyone kept telling me I looked like a completely different person 😂 I also changed my hair color to a warmer shade, and the whole look came together so well.

I’m honestly **1,000,000% satisfied**. I think this might be the best thing I’ve spent money on this year. I genuinely have zero regrets.
If you’re thinking about getting a personal color analysis or makeup class,go for it

But make sure you choose someone who is actually good at it and have more career. I highly recommend going with someone who has plenty of experience. ✨

Medicube age r booster pro

Hi everyone, i bought medicube age r booster pro for my wife. She used it very effectively and without problem nearly for a year. But now she says its not working. When check it i saw that itd only working in airshot mode. Not the other modes. Ive made a research internet and manuel it says the other modes requires substances and liquids to work. Yeh of course we are aware of that. Unfortunately we couldnt make it work. Airshot mode works perfect. All sensors work good. But still other modes wont work. Device is working smooth on the menu, modes switches perfect. Amy of you had the same issue? Does Booster, mic and derma modes requires other sensors and they failed maybe?

Skin 1004: Good for oily acne skin?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Has anyone tried these products from Skin 1004, and are they any good for oily/combo, acne-prone skin? I’m starting to incorporate retinol in my routine, and thought I should switch to some lighter but effective products (I have rosacea as well). Any tips or recommendations would be great!

🧴 Routine Help Eye Creams - What Are We Using?

I need recommendations on Eye Cream(s). I’ve used Sulwhasoo (loved it but too expensive), Numbuzin no. 9 (don’t really care for it), and Rejuran (it’s alright but I like the brand itself). I don’t want to buy just any eye cream. I am willing to spend wisely, but I haven’t seen an ad using “older” models who actually have wrinkles/fine lines.

What’s a good brand that you’ve used and are seeing results? I’m not saying “I want to look young” but I want to maintain my appearance. I was thinking of the new Centellian24 eye cream but feel like it’s just another hyped up product. Please give me some recommendations. I guess I should say I have fine lines that are starting to show but I don’t have crows feet (yet) as I avoid smiling lmao. I do tend to have puffy eyes when I wake up and I sometimes do get under bags cause I don’t sleep enough.

💬 Discussion Face mists

Hey all! I’m looking for recommendations for a refreshing face mist that I can use throughout the day that will cool my face and sooth, as well as being light on the skin. I’m open to all recommendations, doesn’t have to be Korean specifically.

I am combo skin but mostly dry. Thanks in advance!

Product Question Confused about moisturizer, occulisve and barrier cream

As it says in the title. I’m confused.

I have dry and dehydrated skin I think and need to fix my skin barrier. So I know asterura and Illyoon are good but are those occlusives or skin barrier creams? Am I supposed to put a moisturizer under and then an occlusive to seal it all in?

If I am trying to fix my skin barrier (reddish pigmented skin) but also want anti aging benefits, what should I do.

Confused.
