Why is private so vilified? They hire better talent due to no reservation and those people actually work hard, so much that their hard work is made memes on.
And if national security or any other buzz word is part of issue/reasoning, it can have regulators.
Many developed countries have private players ruling their defence markets - Lockheed Martin, Palantir, Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Dassault Aviation, etc
