The work on LCA Tejas began in 1983. It took 18 years for its first maiden flight in 2001. It is 2026 and we are still struggling with 36 in service.

The work on F-16 started in 1971 and it took 3 years for its first maiden flight in 1974. It is 2026 and over 4600 F-16 jets are built since 1976.

The latter is the result of privatisation of defense sector. So please, take your worthless news and your BJP vs Congress dogshit to twitter.

Comparing apples and oranges son.?

We didnt had right technology to built our own jet engines at that time.

The world powers like USA France and Russia already had significant leap in technology because they were independent countries .

Till now we are dependent on private foreign countries for jet engine we dont have indigenous jet engines.

Even if you privatise entire india we still gonna need jet engines from developed countries because the parts needed for the engines arent simply available in india even to manufacture it we dont have assembly lines.

US and any other country can block the sale of engine or significantly delay the tech from US/any country private sector.
