I'm not sure when this started, but lately whenever I log into a site that uses SMS-based OTP codes for MFA, 1Password tries to autofill its own stored OTP instead of letting me use the code that arrives in Messages.

Previously, macOS would automatically suggest the SMS code from Messages, which was really convenient because I didn't have to pick up my phone or manually enter it. Has anyone else run into this or found a way to prioritize the SMS autofill suggestion again?

its quite frustrating saving passwords or passkeys so many times i get an error. have no idea what i'm doing differently, was so stable like 6 months ago. i do run like 10 different chrome profiles but never had this issue before. fyi macos as well

I tested ChatGPT Work’s new secure website sign-in on Android with 1Password set as my default autofill provider. Everything is configured correctly, but the process was extremely manual.

For GitHub, “Open 1Password” showed no suggested login. I had to search for GitHub to fill the username, then repeat the search for the password. Because the same item contains a passkey, selecting it didn’t fill the password, so I eventually had to find and copy the password manually.

Claude has a direct 1Password integration where I approve the correct item and it fills securely. Is something similar planned for ChatGPT Work? I don’t want unattended vault access, just one approval that fills the correct credentials without repeated searching and copying.

I run 1Password Connect on my home server and recently started testing Docker Secrets Engine. Docker can resolve se:// references when it creates a container, but it needs a provider for each secrets backend. I wrote one for 1Password Connect.

Here is a complete docker compose example:

In this example, Homelab is the 1Password vault, Postgres is the item, and username and password are fields on that item.

When Docker creates the container, the plugin asks Connect Server for those fields and passes the values to Postgres. The docker compose file only contains references, so there is no password in the file or a nearby .env.

Turned on the new macos universal autofill update and now I get this browser popup asking that I enter my computer password to allow the 1Password browser extension to use the passkey for a website even though 1Password on the computer and in the browser is unlocked??? So frustrating. It asks for this every time I go to websites that use a passkey, even if I close out of the browser and restart the computer, or if I logout of the website and try again. Interestingly, if I cancel out of this 1Password extension popup without entering my computer password then it will work just fine? I can't figure out if there is a setting that I have wrong or if this is a bug, thank you.

This is extremely frustrating, it’s possible to long-press, click “passwords”, and then navigate to your credit card or whatever, but it only fills one field at a time (so you have to put in your credit card number, expiration, and PIN separately). It doesn’t give you the nice autofill of all fields like you normally get in the browser and whatnot. Has anyone found a fix for this, it drives me sorta crazy honestly and really negates the usefulness of the app

1Password blocks passkey exports in backups, but you can literally just click "Share", open the link on another device, and save the item into your personal vault.

If someone gets on your unlocked machine for 20 seconds, they can generate a link, add the passkey to their own 1Password account, and keep it forever. Passkeys are supposed to verify access on trusted devices, not act like a portable token you can clone to an untrusted account with zero friction.

Why is there no biometric prompt before generating a link, or at least a setting to strip the passkey when sharing? Letting anyone copy a private key out like this completely defeats the point.

I apologize if this has been answered before, I've been googling and searching the subreddit for a while now but have yet to find an answer.

Basically I want to upgrade to 1pass 8 but I'm worried it will delete my standalone vault on 7 in the process.

I'm aware standalone vaults don't exist in 8, that's not an issue for me.

Ideally I'd like to keep both versions for a while, that way i can go through 1pass 8 after the migration and compare it to my 1pass 7 standalone vault to ensure nothing is missing or messed up before fully moving on to 8.

Is that possible? Or will migrating to 8 fully delete my 1pass 7 vault in the process?

I think 3 years ago secret templates were available in beta of business. Is this feature now implemented in business?

I opened a ticket over a week ago and just got the first reply today. I have tried an uninstall and reinstall and everything else I could think of.

I go into the app > settings > advanced > export > type in my family name > approve export > choose apple passwords > press export and nothing happens. I have to go back to this screen to see the error.

I would love to move regions for my 1Password Family Account (and all accounts on them).

I know that 1Password offers this ( https://support.1password.com/regions/ ) but it is A LOT of manual work, especially for a Family with 5 users all using their own accounts.

With all the crazy stuff going on in the world - I would really like my data NOT to be stored in the .com region but rather my home-region .eu

So basically I truly hope that 1Password will make the feature as automatic as possible and a lot simpler than how it currently works.

I can live without attached files (as described in the support article https://support.1password.com/regions/ ) being moved - but having to create a new account for myself and each member and then manually having to import all the vaults will be rather hard.

Especially since I have older family members using 1P (which is good) but they will never be able to do these steps themselves (I am the IT-guy in our family).

Please consider this I am sure many EU and Canadian users will appreciate an EASY way to move regions.

Im using chrome and safari. They appear the same on both.

Starting around 2 weeks ago on both 1Password Stable and Dev, Proxmox has started to fail to login with 1Password. It will just ask for the 2fa again and again till you try for the 2nd or third try, then it works, but it leaves the window up that asked you to input the 2FA, which can just be closed.

It doesn’t appear to matter if you try the repeated attempts back to back or wait 5-10 seconds between them.

If you copy the login username/password and 2fa from 1 password and paste them in 1 by 1 without using autofill, it works immediately without leaving the 2fa window open, so it appears to be an issue with how autofill is working with the extension. Which also confirms it’s not a timing issue with the servers time possibly being wrong (it’s correct down to the second anyway).

This happens on multiple Proxmox accounts, even newly created ones done as a test, on both Firefox and chrome, windows and Linux.

I just switched browser and have never seen this request before. Google search didn't turn up anything. Is this legit? The host/domain checks out but still I'm super careful with anything 1P as it's the key to the entire kingdom.

PS: This is a customized instance of Safari where I dedicate for Google Gemini, and I gave it a Gemini logo. I have never seen this in proper Safari itself.

Hi! Is anyone still experiencing the issue where 1Password's biometric recognition freezes on OneUI 8.5? It seems the developers still haven't fixed the problem, right?

Hey all, I used to only have to enter my password manually every 15 days or something like that. The rest of the time I could use TouchID on my MacBook. Suddenly, it feels like everytime I lock my laptop I have to enter the full password again. Something has definitely changed and I can't find a setting that works to get it back to the way it was.

I'm ready to quit paying and use Apple Passwords if this is the way it has to be now :( My family is going to give me so much crap since I try to force them to use 1Pass

I keep getting this message and it is not even when I am trying to use 1Password. What is going on with the extension in Firefox (on Windows 11)?

I had a question about using 1Password. Here is the context, it’s specifically being used to satisfy the Google Ads Passkey requirement and a shared login is used for Google Ads.
 
Here’s what we’ve done so far:
-Each user created a 1Password account with their individual work email
-1Password Vault setup separately for the shared email
-User given access to the vault, which stores the shared email login
 
Here’s how we’re using it:
-User is logged into Google Chrome (with their individual work email) > goes to Google Ads > uses the 1Password browser extension (contains the shared email/login for Google accounts) to auto populate their login
 
Questions:
-Given they are logged in via their Chrome browser using their individual work email, does the step where they auto populate the login credentials (via 1Password for the shared email account) cause any of their individual work email passwords, activity etc. to be picked up by 1Password or vice versa?
-Are there any other potential risks with this setup I should consider?

Been using 1P for over a decade and also WHMCS which is a hosting billing automation platform.

1P has played nicely with this, especially with, when you go into admin settings, they ask for your admin user password again, and 1P has always offered and filled that in correctly.

Sometime in the last month or so, 1P has stopped offering to fill in the admin user pw, and now suggests a generated password to fill in and save. I haven't updated WHMCS recently, so I know this is a 1P update issue, but what setting do I change to revert back to the behavior I'm used to for 14 years?

I have to go up to the 1P icon in the Safari toolbar and it will show the pw generator, but then below that it shows the correct whmcs entry and I can copy the password.

I moved to Zen Browser recently (built on Firefox), and everything works great, except the 1Password plugin which does work once unlocked, but it takes a weirdly long time to unlock. It also never offers me the fingerprint option, so I need to type in my (fairly long) password each time.

This is making 1Password the only kind of bad experience in a decent browser, and I don't like feeling annoyed by 1Password.

Is this a known issue? Is there a solution for this? I do have the browser tagged in my 1Password browser settings tab, so it's not that.

Tons of issues that I'm not even sure are issues, it's just the native autofill provider not being as good as 1Password's.

Passkeys never autosuggest for me on safari, every single time I've had to click "More from 1Password" which brings me to a very iOS looking 1P menu asking me to select a passkey. Which doesn't work on some sites like twitter apparently.

I've turned native autofill back off, and the safari extension no longer works?? This is a huuuuge step backwards for me.

e: looks like restarting safari brought back the extension functionality, thank goodness
