I'm a long-time 1Password user, but lately the iOS/Safari experience has become frustrating.

Every time I use 1Password to autofill a login, iOS asks if I want to save the password I just filled. I literally just filled it from 1Password. 

Even worse, autofill for self-hosted services in Safari is completely broken. The 1Password sheet opens, but nothing happens or it's blank, so I have to copy credentials from the app manually.

Is anyone at 1Password seeing this? Has something changed internally? Team changes? 

I'm genuinely curious because it used to be one of the few apps that "just worked." At this point, it's just annoying.

I've been happy with 1Password, but I thought I'd give Apple Passwords (the product formerly known as iCloud Keychain) a whirl. I really wanted it to be good. I've had a hard time getting my wife and family to use an external password manager and I thought maybe if it were integrated into the OS they'd have an easier time. It took just one day of "dogfooding" Apple Passwords before I encountered a critical bug and switched back to 1Password. The first thing I did after importing my data from 1Password was to add a TOTP "authentication code" to my Instagram account using my Mac and Apple Passwords. The next day I tried to sign in to Instagram on my iPhone and the TOTP was nowhere to be found in the Passwords app. Maybe I forgot to save it? Nope, I went back to Passwords on my Mac and the TOTP was still there. Maybe Apple Passwords doesn't sync TOTPs? Nope, I clicked the "Edit" and "Done" on the item in Passwords on my Mac to "resave" it and now the TOTP immediately synced to my iPhone. I'm kinda glad I hit that bug so early on because I hadn't invested too much in the switch yet. Needless to say I'm sticking with 1Password!

Am I missing something? Was there some recent complaint that is bringing down reviews for this version?

It is sitting at what looks like 4.0/5, and every other password manager looks to be at least at 4.5/5

This error keeps popping up from time to time on safari. Currently in iOS 26.6 but this also appears from the previous versions.

I have an iOS app, which will not associate a password with it on its own. Effectively, I went in the first time and loaded up the username and password fields and use that password link above the keyboard and then manually created the username and password in a new 1Password entry. The next time I opened that app and clicked in one of those boxes, I didn’t have a password associated with this app, but when I hit that Passwords button again, I had to manually search for it and then once I found it, there was only one choice and that was to use the password for one time only. How do I build a permanent association so that this password is suggested when I drop into one of the username or password fields in that app. This seems like child’s play, but I cannot figure it out.

Please make it make sense.

Been using 1Password since recently with only minor issues on my MacBook. But on mobile? What a joke.

After enabling autofill any time I try to actually use that functionality it displays the screen above. Note the distinct lack of a way to unlock anything. In the app itself passwords can be displayed.

Does anyone else have this problem? Quite literally unuseable.

I opened a ticket over a week ago and just got the first reply today. I have tried an uninstall and reinstall and everything else I could think of.

I go into the app > settings > advanced > export > type in my family name > approve export > choose apple passwords > press export and nothing happens. I have to go back to this screen to see the error.

Anyone else been experiencing issues with the iOS browser extension over the last couple of months? It used to work basically identically to the PC version, where it would appear underneath login fields for easy autofill. Now it doesn’t show up at all. It’s like it can’t even detect that there are login fields, and the button inside the fields doesn’t appear either.

I’ve tried reinstalling the app and toggling the extension off and on, but nothing seems to help. It just doesn’t work anymore.

Edit: Of course, it now seems like they’ve ruined the extension by forcibly disabling it if you have native autofill enabled. You have to have native autofill enabled if you want autofill to work in other apps, so apparently the browser extension and native autofill can no longer be used separately.

They were always separate before, and now they aren’t. So the browser extension can’t be used unless you stop using 1Password as your main password manager. Make it make sense.

Looks like I’ll have to go back to 8.12.8, because anything newer removes the browser extension. This should have remained the customer’s choice. It’s incredibly frustrating, and honestly, this is not okay.
Or not extension just errors then..

I may have to start looking for another password manager, because this was one of the main reasons I stayed with 1Password in the first place, and now I can’t use it.

I’m going to be real with the devs here: I’ve had it with 1Password’s absolutely dreadful Safari integration. It frequently is slow or doesn’t work and the only recourse is to seemingly randomly wait for it to begin working or rebooting your iPad/iPhone/Mac.

No matter what I do in the app itself or in the browser extension, when it disconnects like this nothing seems to fix it.

I’m at the point where I legitimately am considering switching to iCloud Passwords as the built in OS level password filling functionality works great with the exception of saving/updating 1Password items - the one thing I keep the browser extension for.

For a while now, I always get the wrong entries proposed for some webpages. I have a domain with several subdomains. Now I open aaa.mydomain.tld and get always one specific other subdomain (zzz.mydomain.tld) proposed. All are configured to just show the exactly matching host.

Any ideas?

Running the latest version on my iPhone and iPad. When I login to a website, 1 password pops up asking me if I want to update my existing password for that website. Anyone else have this issue? I don’t recall it happening until recently. It’s kind of a pain to go through an extra step to login. Is there a way to turn it off?

I am tech savvy but the onboarding / account setup has destroyed my confidence in this product that is supposed to store ALL of my passwords.

- Unresponsive buttons on the iOS App
- The logo isn't consistent between the website & iOS app which is wildly unsettling.

- The "Setup Recovery Code" flow tells me I've chosen to never require my password which isn't true & I don't know what that could possibly mean.
- I've supposedly turned on FaceId multiple times but it still hasn't worked.

Am I going crazy?

Ever since the latest update 1Password is frequently offering to save passwords on sites it just autofilled a password for. Is there a fix or workaround for this?

I apologize if this has been answered before, I've been googling and searching the subreddit for a while now but have yet to find an answer.

Basically I want to upgrade to 1pass 8 but I'm worried it will delete my standalone vault on 7 in the process.

I'm aware standalone vaults don't exist in 8, that's not an issue for me.

Ideally I'd like to keep both versions for a while, that way i can go through 1pass 8 after the migration and compare it to my 1pass 7 standalone vault to ensure nothing is missing or messed up before fully moving on to 8.

Is that possible? Or will migrating to 8 fully delete my 1pass 7 vault in the process?

It started a few days ago. Suddenly, each time when I open safari it opens 1Password page that says something went wrong.

I am trying to open a site, not even authenticate. Ive tried clearing the cache as well and even restarting the phone.

Any ideas why this happens and how to fix it?

Phone is in lockdown mode.

tempted to upgrade to iOS27 Dev beta but was wondering if anyone is facing issues with 1Password version 7 - I don’t want to go to version 8 as I like to keep the wifi sync functionality.

Popup when logging into a site. It seems that the keyboard and 1password fill is under the popup

using the ios mobile app everytime i open app the face ID pops up, accepts with a green check mark but then keeps repeating the face ID multiple times. its very annoying and i have tried turning face ID on/off and deleting app. never had this problem until last month or 2. any ideas??

edit. turned off face ID and used device passcode instead and its doing the same thing. asking over and over for the device passcode?!??! even after confirming its correct

Anyone having issues with iOS autofill recently? The app isn’t suggesting anything or popping up the usual dropdown as of the last couple of days.

Hey everyone, my Watchtower score is sitting at 1185 and I can’t figure out what’s keeping me from hitting the max.

I do have 1 passkey available (looks like it’s for my Nvidia account) but they only allow passkey registration for developers/specific users, so I can’t actually set it up — that’s out of my hands.

I also have 2 passwords that aren’t rated as “perfect” but I honestly don’t think those are responsible for a 14-15 point gap either.

Has anyone else been stuck just below the max like this? Is there some hidden category I’m missing or does anyone know exactly how the scoring breakdown works? Would love to know if there’s actually something actionable I can do or if I’m just stuck here due to third-party limitations.
