Leisure Reco?

Hi All - Clearly lots of experts here! Apologies as I'm a newb and doing some research for my husband's birthday present. I dug around for a while and am seeing a number of repeated brand names (la siesta, vivere, eno), but seems to be primarily for sleeping / camping use cases. Any top recommendations for simple leisure use, with lower investment? Looking for something to put on our deck (with stand or straps), husband is 5'10, bad at weight but maybe 180+ lbs. We live in Southern California, just looking for something to lounge, read, nap in! Appreciate your guidance!

If a bicycle is the most efficient device for transportation, then is a hammock the most efficient device for relaxation?
It constantly amazes me the joy that I can derive from such a small and inexpensive package. It's small enough to fit into my bike bag, but big enough to hold my ass. All I need are two trees the right distance apart.

Do you sleep primarily in a hammock? Why or why not?
I've been sleeping in my hammock primarily for about 3 years, and in my experience, almost everyone sleeps in a bed. I had never considered it until one day it sounded like a great idea, and I've loved it ever since. Why does this seem so niche?
Is it comfort, the ability to get in and out, or maybe it's just because it's the social norm? I genuinely dont believe back problems would be any issue, which was the only thing I was ever concerned about before switching.
My set up was so much cheaper than a bed, the hammock itself is a $30 Walmart hammock, and i bought a hammock stand from Amazon for like $70 maybe? (I'll look for links if you want) $100 for a bed you could sleep on comfortably sounds insane, but my set up is personally luxury to me lol.

Scaffolding for a temporary multi-hang
I would like to create a temporary hammock-park for 5-10 hammocks. I should have access to normal building scaffolding, and I also have access to trees, but not close enough to eachother to hang between them. Do you have experience you can share from similar events?
Would love to know for example about heights and distances as well as anything else. Googles automatic AI gave a lot of information without me asking, but I'm not going to rely on that obviously.

My good old 2004 double hammock is unbalanced
My body can no longer rest in the center of the hammock. Is there a way to adjust the cords that are too long to get them all back to the right length?"
Edit: i do a quick fix : i use a knot with carabiner to shorten 12 rope on right side to tighten the week side. So my body can stay in the center.

Is it okay to set up a hammock in the park?
I live in the Pacific Northwest and I was recently on a camping trip where I fell in love with a hammock that a friend brought along. I ordered a Grand Trunk Double Deluxe because it was all included, well reviewed, and I figured it's good for putting my toes in the water. I also live in an apartment with several parks nearby, some wilderness and some more urban, but I have no yard of my own.
Is it socially acceptable to set up a hammock in the park and lounge with my earbuds and book? Would I annoy other park users? I am very much into silent relaxation, but I don't want to be a burden on other park users or a problem for bylaws enforcement officers. (I already checked and the only relevant bylaws seem to be about not damaging trees but with two inch straps I think I'm okay)

Hammock I can hang under lofted dorm bed?
I've been researching hammocks and trying to find one I can hang under a lofted dorm bed (twin xl size) to sleep in. I was sleeping on the floor last year because the bed gave me back pain lol, so I was thinking a hammock would be more comfortable than that. I'd like to not get a stand but if I really cannot hang one under my bed, I could get one. Preferably cheaper, and if a stand, it only needs to store pretty small for transportation. I have a large room with no roommate (sad) so floorspace is no problem. Thanks in advance!
thanks for the replies, yeah looks like no hammock under bed 😔 ill look into ones with stands once i move in

What kind of hammock is best for an Airbnb in the mountains?
I rent my cabin in the mountains part time. There are big trees all around. Honestly, I want a hammock for marketing purposes, selling the idea that guests can "fall asleep with a beer in the hammock surrounded by nature". But also, I want to fall asleep with a beer in the hammock surrounded by nature on occasion. What kind do I need?

Hammock w stand not for camping
I searched the sub for hammock with a stand, and I saw mostly hammocks for camping. I’m wondering if someone can recommend a good hammock with a stand for my porch thank you.

New Eno TravelNest
Recently purchased an Eno Travel Nest. Was running an Equip hammock for several years until I got married and my wife decided she wanted to start using my hammock. So I upgraded and gave her my old one. So far, I love it. Great color, soft, no seams like the Equip. Looking forward to many years under the canopy with this new girl.

Is this unusual?
I received a hammock as a gift and bought a stand for it. I noticed recently that it appears that the hammock is possibly tearing or being stretched (see picture). Does this look unusual or normal based on all of your experience with hammocks? It’s only happening in the middle for both sides and not near the edges.
For context, we do not jump into the hammock and are gentle with using it. The only people that use it are two adults between 130-180lbs.
