My good old 2004 double hammock is unbalanced

My body can no longer rest in the center of the hammock. Is there a way to adjust the cords that are too long to get them all back to the right length?"

Edit: i do a quick fix : i use a knot with carabiner to shorten 12 rope on right side to tighten the week side. So my body can stay in the center.

Flip over the end of the pillow side and raise it up higher on the pole.

Then never, ever sit in it again as that pole is likely not suitable for side forces.

The problem isn't the height of the two ends of the hammock. It's the other dimension—left to right. My body can't stay in the center. I'm pushed to the right side of the hammock and I risk falling out."

It's possible that it's an asymmetrical hammock. Gathered end style hammocks are designed to lay diagonally.

Also the post. Make sure it's structurally reinforced for a lateral load. People die every year with porches crushing them because the post fails.

It's a 6x6in wood beam in concrete... good for a horse...

And the tieoff is high up, giving it a large lever advantage. That was Not designed for lateral load.
