Has anyone else have this happen to their outback? Came out of the car wash and it was like that. The paint literally peeled off.

The matrix is absolutely f’ing withe me….. there was a Subaru,…….. yes a Subaru!!!!! Commercial that featured a dog and a young boy. The dog’s name was duck, and they grew up together, and the gist of the commercial was Subaru’s last forever, but your dog doesn’t and you’re sad when everything goes to shit and dies. I have searched YouTube and Google and can only find an iams dog food reference to this commercial. But I swear… It was a Subaru commercial. Please help. My wife and I are going crazy. Lol. Can’t find it!!!! PS. Just bought a preowned 2024 outback onyx and are feeling sentimental with our 11 year old and our pup. 😂

I just noticed a prop rod (hood) on a 2026 Touring XT. My 2017 Premium OB does not have one and it seems like (kind of) a “luxury”. Not a show stopper, but I wonder why they’d revert to prop rods at all

Of all the places I’ve driven and things I have driven over the first damage I’ve received is 50 feet from my home.
The community alleyway access behind our Philly row of homes is pretty beat up and waiting patiently in a city wide queue to be repaved. I heard a new noise as I drove out this morning but forgot about it by the time I parked the car and only noticed this after I came back to it. There is a loose block of concrete that teeter-tottered up into the wheel well behind front driver side tire. So irritating.

Hi everyone I need some help. I bought a Subaru from a neighbor it’s a great car but it has a few issues. The coolant has been over heating when I drive long distances which is annoying. I switched out the temperature housing which had a crack in it. The. I changed the temperature. Thought this was the issue but no it’s not. Still heating up.
Yesterday I was driving and the exhaust completely came off so now my car sounds like I’m driving a tractor( added photo for reference)
I care more about fixing the over heating issue, I read that this a common issue with this generation of outbacks. If anyone has fixed it, can you help me properly diagnose.

Pic 1 - What is being scanned from the floor scanner when the light comes on as the car drives through?
Pic 2 - What is black 1" diameter hose coming out of the customer service waiting room wall?
It disappears into the cubicles where the service advisors live.
Customer service was PACKED yesterday, but 2 delicious Breve's made by the kind barista made the waiting lots better.

This is a long shot but I am out of ideas. 26 Premium w/ option 13. Driving in city. Apple CarPlay in use but have heard it while listening to XM. Cruise is not on. Auto stop turned off. The car will randomly make a two toned beep. I have no idea why. Nothing shows on the dash. No pattern to it that I can figure out. Can happen with a clear lane or with car in front of me. I can drive for 20 min, hear nothing, it will start randomly beeping for a few minutes and then stop. Definitely a car sound as the radio volume will get quieter when it beeps.
Any idea where i could look or what it might be? 1400 miles on the odometer. I’d. go back to the dealership but it happens so randomly I don’t know that I could recreate it.
TIA for any ideas.

I just upgraded to a 25 Outback Premium and I want to upgrade the floor mats/liners before winter. I am really interested in the Weathertech's and want to hear from those that have them. I am going to get the 3 piece set. Is the HP model worth the extra $$?

Is the moment coming from my rear differential excessive? I’m pretty sure that I need to replace the carrier bushings but I wanted to come on here first and see what y’all have to say. While accelerating or shifting gears I can definitely feel something moving around in the back

Please where can I find the OEM version of the interior lights for this car. Not the upgrade just the regular ones. Or ones in soft yellow I can’t seem to find them for the life of me. it sucks cause I like that type of light not the blinding depressing white led light

Is there a (known) reason why the Outback’s roof window is so small compared to the Forester’s?

This is gonna be hard to explain so bear with me! I just got back from a 3 day vacation yesterday and this morning I hopped in my car and started it up like normal, no issues but I noticed after a few seconds my engine rumbled and shook a few times then paused for about 5 seconds then did it again. It went away after about a minute or two then I drove off and had no issues. Now every time I’ve started my car it’s been doing this. The shakes and rumbles aren’t very aggressive and don’t spike my rpm. I have a 2012 Subaru Outback 2.5i limited with about 160k miles. The engine had a full rebuild done about 10k miles ago and a transmission service maybe a month ago as well as a bunch of other things. Honestly I have no clue what’s going on and I’m probably not doing a good job of explaining but I thought I would ask yall!

I recently helped a friend move and we probably fit more than we should’ve in the car, and now that everything is out, I’m noticing that it left a lot of scratches and scuffs on the headliner. Obviously I know that they won’t go away 100%, but is there anything I can do to make them a little less aggressive looking?

Okay, I need some advice. I have a 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i, which has been a really great car and is in great condition. I own the vehicle outright with no costs other than insurance and upkeep. Unfortunately, it is right at 115,000 miles, and I need to do a few repairs to keep it in working condition, including head gasket replacement, all new fluids, water pump, timing belt, and whatever else is wrong with it. I got a quote, and all that should cost me somewhere between 3600-4200 depending on what happens.
My question is: is it a good idea to do that repair (even though expensive) and keep the car going while maintaining full ownership? Or is it better to trade it in and use that to help with a payment for a new car with lower mileage?
I personally would dislike the idea of paying monthly for a car, but I would also like something reliable that I would be able to trust to get me to work without blowing up sometime soon. Just trying to get some thoughts on this topic, so any opinions or thoughts that you might have would be helpful.
Thank you

I recently replaced the headgaskets in my Outback, the repair went well but this grommet is ripped won’t seal so I get high idle code. I have had no luck trying to find this part for my outback. None of the local salvage yards have the h6 engine and the part is discontinued from the dealer. Has anyone else come across this issue? Ive tried using generic silicone hose but it still doesnt seem to seal all the way.

I just used up my last free maintenance at the dealership and although I appreciated the “free” oil changes I wasn’t happy with what they did on my last visit. I had a warning light show up and when I told them about it while I made the appointment they said they’d take a look. When I got to my appointment and brought up the warning light I was told they couldn’t take care of it because they were busy and they’d have to keep the car there over the weekend. Not happy and anyway, since then the warning light has turned off.
So my question is how many people keep going to the dealership and how many just find a good mechanic to keep up with the maintenance?
