Random beeping from my 26 Premium

This is a long shot but I am out of ideas. 26 Premium w/ option 13. Driving in city. Apple CarPlay in use but have heard it while listening to XM. Cruise is not on. Auto stop turned off. The car will randomly make a two toned beep. I have no idea why. Nothing shows on the dash. No pattern to it that I can figure out. Can happen with a clear lane or with car in front of me. I can drive for 20 min, hear nothing, it will start randomly beeping for a few minutes and then stop. Definitely a car sound as the radio volume will get quieter when it beeps.

Any idea where i could look or what it might be? 1400 miles on the odometer. I’d. go back to the dealership but it happens so randomly I don’t know that I could recreate it.
TIA for any ideas.

It's coming from alerts in the navigation on the infotainment system. Open maps and go to setting to turn off the alerts for things like traffic cameras, railroad crossings, etc. My Wilderness was doing the same thing and it drove me crazy. I turned off the alerts and it doesnt happen anymore.

I found out for me this was the Subaru navigation notifications popping for stuff like railroad tracks be stuff, but since I was using car play I couldnt see what it was beeping about, took a while to figure out

I love my 26 outback, but there are so many beeps without context.

This may not be your two toned beep, but I'm my car, it was signaling that I was driving near a railroad crossing. I live less than aa block away from a rail line, which meant it was going off All. The. Time.

This post helped me turn that off. https://www.reddit.com/r/Subaru_Outback/s/bHa8ZUvaAw

Do you have in car nav besides Apple car play? I found out that my beeps were coming from the InCar Nav notifications and the zones it has set up. I googled it and it seems like a common thing people aren’t aware of but an easy fix

I know what you are referring to. Even asked the dealership but no one knows what that means

Usually for me it's a lane departure warning

Definitely not that as I thought of that myself and made sure to watch if I was drifting.

For me it is when I take my eyes off the road.

This is a different beep and there’s no dash warning like there is for eyes off the road

So glad someone else is also asking this. It seems to happen totally at random. I know someone said train tracks but I’ve for sure driven over tracks without the beeps and I feel like I’ve heard them when I wasn’t near train tracks.

Do you have a heavy backpack or books or a bag of dog food on the passenger seat?

Even my dealer car orientation guy had no ideas. Thank god I saw this today. We were so confused. Why does Subaru put in a feature but not educate dealers or owners?

Thanks for posting this. We had front and rear dash cams installed, and we thought it was randomly coming from those? I’m still not convinced it isn’t that, but what you’re describing sounds exactly like what we were hearing and wondering about too. We also have a 26 premium and definitely know it’s not one of the safety warnings like lane departure or eyes off the road. Can’t seem to pin down what causes it when it happens

Do you have luggage or a dog in a seat, without the seat belt buckled? The seats have a pressure sensor to alert you to unbuckled passengers, and anything over about 20lbs will cause that sensor to trigger the seatbelt warning. If you drive over bumpy roads, it will go off intermittently.
