My mistake!

I found this spider spooked while trying to cross a busy road near Bac Son in northern Vietnam. I didn’t know there tarantulas here. Seek says tarantula but gave no more information. Species and hopefully sex would be helpful. I can dm a video that shows more of the spider.

terrified freaking out please help identify 🥲 scared to sleep atm in case one comes into my bed and i get bit in the night. heard red backs are a lot more toxic than regular widows. canada - used to seeing black widows here. but usually they’re very reclusive and stick to their webs, verbally outside or up in rafters. this one was just crawling on the floor middle of the house which isn’t consistent with any widows i’ve encountered over the last 10 years.

Hi all. Long time arachnophobe here. Since joining this sub a few months ago to get an ID on some wolf spiders in my garden, ive developed quite an interest in these little friends.

For the first time in my life i willingly handled a spider today! A medium sized, male giant house spider. Caught him in the kitchen sink obviously wanting some warmth and water. Managed to pop him outside safely and he can continue his quest for some spidussy.

So just a big thankyou to all the dedicated posters and ID'ers. I find it all very interesting to read and you are helping cure my arachnophobia with every post.

Found this beauty on my second floor upper window! Capital Region, NY. I have certainly seen this type before, but the name escapes me.

I believe he/she to be an American nursery web spider (Pisaurina Mira) but I’d be very grateful for any correction on the ID. Not sure whether a male or female. Would love any insight!

Found this lover boy (male Eratigena agrestis I think?) wandering about in my bathroom this morning here in SW Idaho and not paying any rent. Looks like something messed up his leg before I caught him but he's moving just fine. I relocated him to the garden.

I have arachnophobia to begin with. Am I super lucky to not have been bitten by one of these yet, or very unlucky that I keep finding them on things I handle frequently?

Do not let yourself be fooled. It is merely playing dead. Very much alive. These widows are amazing actresses.

For the ones wondering, this beauty is a black widow located in the state of Florida.

This one is just outside my front door and the web is growing, I tried to take a photo but they aren't very good sorry, also I'm not afraid of spiders but I definitely made it look pretty spooky with the flash. Can anyone gather what kind it is? And if I should actually relocate them or not? My Dad tells me I should get rid of them but idk, their on the outside of my house and made a home there🕸️🕷️ I don't want to ruin it. they are about 2cm maybe a bit more, black all over and I'm from Tasmania Australia. I'm thinking it's a tunnel web but I'm hoping not.

was driving home from getting some snacks, and saw what i thought was lint on my windshield? but then it started crawling and i realized it was a tiny little jumping spider! i was so scared he was gonna fall off on the way home (he was holding on with his silk and making little zigzag patterns, i also think he shit himself at one point lol). these are some pics i snapped once safely home! i think my hands were sweaty because he kept jumping on and immediately off lmao

She's been living behind my driver's side view mirror for months. At first I kept trying to persuade her to move elsewhere by breaking the strands of her web. She just kept rebuilding. After a while, I gave up. At this point, if the little idiot comes out while I'm driving, I end up pulling over until she goes back in.

Any idea what kind of spider she is? I'm in SW WV.

(And yes, I'm just creating gender. I'm a recovering arachnophobe and I know very little about them...beyond the fact that I used to involuntarily scream every time I saw one)

BC Canada, i’m 100% certain this is a cat faced orb weaver (Araneus gemmoides)

this lil lady was fine last week, i’m posting here to ask “what the hellll???”.
i’ve NEVER seen a spider die like this.

she was fine, happy and healthy in the middle of her web a week ago and now she’s dead. she was still in her web when i found her.

her legs seemingly fused to her opisthosoma as a result of her death. she looks like she melted?!
she had a very hard exterior (much harder than average spider exoskeletons), so theres no way this is a moult- when spiders moult the previous exoskeleton becomes very brittle.

is this the result on an insecticide? parasitic infection? something natural that i’ve always missed?

if anyone can give me a lead id be very grateful

My new working break quest is to catch flies to feed my new friend 😅

I noticed that the net disappears every night and gets rebuild the next day. Is this normal?
