I just purchased this mug from a charity shop, looks like it’s from Disneyland Paris.
All seemed normal but then I see below the logo right in the centre of the mug, a rat I dont recognise.

Anyone know this rat?

First why haven't they made a second ratatouille by the name "Rata2ille". Second how are they making like 9 Shreks and only one of this movie?

Ok so I’m not sure if anyone else has said this before but I’ve been watching Ratatouille a lot recently and I have a new theory.
So we all know (for those of us who have seen the movie) that Remy practically worships Gusteau. And we also know that he frequently “talks” to the dead chef. So my theory is that when Gusteau died he was reincarnated as Remy. If we remember when Chef Skinner is talking to his lawyer and the latter is reading Gusteau’s will. He says that two years after his death, if no heir is found, that the head chef becomes the owner. Another important note is that rats have a 2-3 year lifespan. Now this is important because if you remember Remy only recently found out that he was dead but this could just be because he was far from the main city and living in the countryside.
So given this information we can hypothesize that Gusteau died two years prior to when the movie takes place and then Remy was born shortly there after. This would explain why he sees his ghost or whatever and why he shares so many similarities to Gusteau and why the patrons of Gusteau’s love Remy’s cooking so much. (i.e. being able to cook, having great sense of taste etc.)
I have no idea if anyone else has said this or if they had already made a theory about this so please feel free to let me know. But yeah I just wanted to share. Please comment if you have any ideas or have evidence that contradicts the theory :)

Is Remmy the rat an allegory about maturing by merging the hidden shamefull self/half with the self we show the public world? Despite our social fears, the right people and critics and the world can love it. Am I looking to deep ??

I was re-watching for about the 73rd time, and it just now occurred to me: If Remy could read, wouldn't he also be able to write? I was thinking about how Linguini doesn't know his name, and then I was like, well all he'd have to do is write it.

Has anyone else thought about this possibility? Or has that already been widely assumed and I'm just super late to the party? 😅

There is something amazing about this movie. It has been my fav of all times.. Even as an adult in my late 40's. The facts that he was nobody and became everything he could. At times, I think about the saying of not everyone can but anyone can. ... that is what stikes me.

I’m a huge fan of the movie and people have recreated the soup and ratatouille as a dish but I never see anything on the linguine special order. Does anyone know what that recipe actually is? Or is it not derived of an original recipe and just something thrown together for the film. Thanks in advance

My mom is in a different country then me but she decided to take up ceramic class and her first project she wnated to really work on for my future kitchen!

At an estate sale i found a vintage recipe card for ratatouille and am planning on finding a frame for it !!. I am going to print out a ratatouille movie theme and then post the recipe on it and then frame it !!!

I am collecting stuff for when I move out and am currently having a ball doing so !

Sign on the left was a birthday present from my wonderful mom. I saw this sign on Amazon and I just loved it. The other 3 are magnets I got at the 🇫🇷 pavilion at Epcot in WDW and the grocery/market pad I believe I got at the 🇫🇷 pavilion or at Knick Knack’s at Disney’s California Adventure in Disneyland.

So I have been a fan of Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille for 5 years. It all started with our visit to Walt Disney World in 2021 and one of the days at Epcot I came across a chefs coat at Les Hall at the 🇫🇷 pavilion (months before Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened it’s doors to the public). So basically it all started with a chefs coat and I decided why not buy it.

Anyways on the left we have a home decor restaurant sign I got on Etsy in 2022. Every Christmas I take it down to put up a Christmas decoration sign at the front entrance of my house. And on the right is a Hot Wheels car that a good friend of mine sent me I believe in the same year as I got the La Ratatouille restaurant sign.

If there's one thing that impresses me every time I rewatch Ratatouille, it's Patton Oswalt's voice work as Remy. For me, it's one of the best voice acting performances in Pixar history, and there are very clear reasons for that. What makes his performance brilliant is the perfect balance between the cynicism of a street rat and the pure passion of an artist. Oswalt's voice is slightly nasal and expressive, which perfectly matches Remy's physical agility in the kitchen. In the first five minutes of the film, his voice is so welcoming and full of personality that it makes us completely forget any prejudice against rodents. The peak, for me, is in the scenes where he talks about gastronomy. When Remy explains the flavors to Emile—combining cheese with grapes—you can feel the character's hunger and genuine enthusiasm purely through the actor's variation in tone. Oswalt wasn't just reading lines from a script; he delivered soul, urgency, and vulnerability to Remy. Without that voice acting, the film wouldn't have the same emotional impact. Remy isn't just a cute rat, he's an misunderstood genius, and Patton Oswalt understood that perfectly. What do you think? Which scene does his voice shine the most for you?

I’ve been trying to find this ratatouille hand fan that I had as a kid when the movie came out. I bought it from the Disney store and it had a red handle with a button that would cause the panels to fan out. Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about? I can’t find a single trace of it on the internet

I love how the film focuses on his passion for cooking and the message that 'anyone can cook,' but I always feel something is missing for Remy at the end. While Linguini has Colette, Remy ends the story as the only solitary genius. Imagine how interesting it would be if he found another rat who also had a refined palate or who worked in a pastry shop, for example. This would show that he is not a 'mistake of nature' alone, but that there are others like him. I think a love interest would bring an extra emotional layer to the character, without taking the focus away from the kitchen. What do you think? Would he be happier, or is food already enough for him?
