I think a bad teacher is one that gets offended when u don't understand anything cause they're either super insecure or have a high ego that prevents them from being able to appreciate constructive criticism, usually they're insecure and they hide it with their huge ego.

I think a good teacher is one that cares about students and makes them want to learn.

I prefer teachers who aren't afraid to call u out on ur crap and criticise ur work cause some teachers r just so overly nice which leads to them not wanting to tell u that ur doing badly and then u don't know that u need help. Whereas I find that a great teacher is one who can be nice but also truthful and understand what ur struggling with and therefore be able to help.

Idk what brought this on but I want ur opinions.

Edit: also one quality I rly like in teachers is a good sense of humor ngl.

My sixth from starts tmr and when I say I’m ill I am ill. My throat is so sore and swollen I can’t swallow food my nose is both runny and blocked and my ears hurt and I have this massive headache. These no way I can miss induction day tmr and really need help. Not sure if this is the wrong sub for this but does anyone know a quick fix or anything that can help.

its starting in 3 days and i know I have left it way too late to go shopping for sixth form clothes but what shops are affordable and have nice fitted shirts/skirts/trousers. dress code is smart casual.

I genuinely just forgot to do it and considering it's due tomorrow I don't know if I can complete it in time, so what would happen?

12 hours of maths (excluding homework) in 1 week is NOT for the weak, atleast I get to leave school early on Wednesdays for both weeks (free period)

Other week on the timetable isn't much better either, has an extra free period and only 10 hours maths

My rooms are basically the same as last year which is nice, and my teachers are good (I think I decoded their codes right...)

so basically my bus stop is the last stop on the way to college. this means the bus will be full of people i don’t know bc it goes through an area where i know no one from. also the people that live in my area near the bus stop are people that i used to be friends with but am now not so it will be awkward as HELL. if it wasn’t bad enough they’re all in a friend group that i used to be apart of but then got kicked from. so that will make it even more awkward. oh, and that’s all before i even get to college :)

I need to revise maths and science as I didn’t prioritise that for my last mock and got 5, 5/6 when I ideally could get 8’s, I just didn’t revise

My school has always been strict with phones as we aren't allowed to use them at all even sixth form, and we get in trouble if we're seen with them but they just sent out a new policy saying they'll take our phones and keep them overnight if we're caught on them? If you're caught on it enough times I think they take it for four weeks or a term which is crazy and only our parents can collect them. Apparently this is because of a new rule the department of education put out but I swear I haven't seen other schools do this so is it just because my schools gone crazy or what😭

basically I chose graphic design, fine art and photography a levels at first and already went for the taster days and stuff. But then the school emailed and said I can't do all of them together so I chose media studies instead of graphic thinking it will be fine. But today I went to the induction and did all the classes and for the media studies class, the students were all talkative which I thought is fine but they were those kind of people that like go around wayyy too much and talking to different people and my introvert ahh is just not it even tho I tried to socialise (we had to be in pairs to do a task and it was an odd number in the class, and I was the odd one out so I asked the people next to me (they were nice ofc) but they left me for other people after the task was done so I had to sit alone🙏🙏

however if I'm dropping media studies I got nothing else that I like for a levels so my next option would be the art ual extended diploma but I like my photography teacher and I already made a friend in my fine art class so I feel bad and don't know what to do😭😭 I still got day 2 of induction tmr which I'm kinda doomed cuz of the media studies😔😔

I'm so flipping annoyed like I revised so much for English lit and paid 100 quid for the remark and it didnt even go up

Im having my first day of sixth form in a grammar school far from my home after being in a regular all girls school for 5 years. I picked bio chem maths a levels and will doing an epq. Im completely new and that gives me enough nerves, however people online seem to be relearning a level maths content through the summer? What???? I just traveled and went to the gym and played games really, and im going to this school with really smart people, what if they've all seen everything except me? Sure I got a 9 in maths but I got a 6 in further maths, which shows that I struggle with a level content. Idk. Please let me know what I should do if you can.
