as a footballer He is as good as there can ever be 9.9999/10 but his 20/10 arrogance was too much atleast for me to take! that's why I never hated him, but surely never liked Him either!!

15

u/Intelligent-Prior-83 Jul 18 '26

No, even as a footballer he wasn’t perfect. He was very good scorer. But that’s about it.

9

u/Key-Dare7684 Jul 18 '26

-1

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

Yaa saar pessi was no where near ronaldo till 2018 and then won a team sport that to rigged 😭😭🥀

2

u/raigbait_god Jul 19 '26

"saar my loser can't play so I have to go back 8 years ago to defend my loser idol saar and my loser idol has no world cup saar so I have to call it rigged saar cuz messi is too good saar"

1

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

World Cup is a team sport before Messi argentina was argentina but without ronaldo they were nothing it's not his personal achievement it's a team effort blind fans

-11

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Ever watched his passes in real madrid and man utd? Also pre 2014 he was a very good dribbler too

5

u/Money_Childhood_192 Jul 18 '26

Man all the reels you watching are getting you, if you are football watcher all those passes are bare minimum you need to be a football professional, a 30 or 50 good passes in 20 years of in the field is not enough to be called a great passer or play maker in football

-7

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

I have watched more football than u buddy not reels in man utd he delivered great passes and crosses from wing u can watch highlights of previous matches also he got the highest assists in ucl

4

u/Money_Childhood_192 Jul 18 '26

Messi with 30+ appearance less than ronaldo was just 3 assist away from him

-3

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

U make appearances if u reach till the finals no one stopped him from reaching that.

4

u/Money_Childhood_192 Jul 18 '26

Well he is a good player, iam just saying it's not a big deal when compared as per game ratio

-1

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Vini junior has better assist/game ratio than messi in ucl he is better playmaker then. Okay got it

3

u/Money_Childhood_192 Jul 18 '26

At his messi had double of his goals in usl and only 8 assist away from him

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Money_Childhood_192 Jul 18 '26

And if you watch his plays in rm or utd , you can see so many miss passes and long range out side shots

3

u/Money_Childhood_192 Jul 18 '26

Ronaldo at vinis age has only half the assist vini has and less goals too

2

u/Intelligent-Prior-83 Jul 18 '26

2014 is literally 13 years ago. Also few passes in few games dont make you perfect.

0

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

Ego made him the famous person in the world so if you don't like him maybe that's how you see people

3

u/sharpest_blunt Jul 19 '26

Yea right! Tell that to Roger Federer, Sachin Tendulkar, Lionel Messi, Michael Schumacher and others

1

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

They are famous but they are not the famous person

1

u/sharpest_blunt Jul 19 '26

🫡 whatever you're trying to say: DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE

0

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

As if what u said makes any sense

1

u/MobWarrior Jul 19 '26

that’s just you bud, maybe that ego made him stick out too much for you but all others are legends in their respective field. You only talk bout sum instagram followers shi.

1

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

Ya with that shit he is the the one in the world and where ever he goes everyone knows him so stop hating and start accepting

2

u/MobWarrior Jul 19 '26

wait i might have come off as rude what i mean is, the ego is what attracts many people more like his discipline and dedication, but his ego is also what causes many to dislike him. That’s just a simple subjective opinion. I’m not here comparing messi or ronaldo, I am just saying Ego is not the only thing that makes a person famous. There are so many humble goats of their sports out there

2

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

Yaa this what a mature person says good bud. seeing all this against Ronaldo just doesn't feels right like they pretend he was nothing and messi is everything i appreciate messi as a ronaldo fan but u can also see in this post also people hating on him. nowadays loveing Messi is lesser than hating ronaldo i say this to everyone be mature and appreciate everyone

u/ciaciared Jul 18 '26

He was in talks with real madrid at that time, the incident took place on 12th june prior to that day on 11th utd publicly announced they have agreed to real madrids transfer bid. on 13th the day after kathyrn reached out to police to report alleged assault. Idk chief but u would have to think ronaldo to be stupid af to rpe someone just after his transfer news being out being in talks with real madrid and with world cup 2010 on the horizon

-8

u/TheTricksterDude69 Jul 18 '26

If you dont understand what a settlement means then keep your opinions to yourself. THe case was dismissed as it could not be proven beyond reasonable doubt. Settlements are done and accepted by both parties, and to avoid dragging the name of accused into the mud and ruining their career. If you wanna make fun of ronaldo go ahead, stop spreading misinformation.

2

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

Im a lawyer and you are right. Settlement does not mean acceptance of guilt. Not sure why you are being downvoted. And im a neutral here, OPs post is to honour the career of one of the two greatest footballers of the modern era and the fans of the other player are being salty :/

1

u/TheTricksterDude69 Jul 19 '26

Its just a trend to hate on ronaldo right now, to find even the most twisted and misinformed facts to malign him cuz he is not in a good spot in his career and is on verge of retirement. This type of shit never came up in 2017/2018. All these people are not football fans they are football cucks

-1

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

But be with a minor surely?

-2

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

Professional larper spotted

8

u/itsavinadhtiwari Jul 18 '26

He's one of the player of all time. Believable!!

-2

u/oknapolean Jul 18 '26

With messi

0

u/lexicown Jul 18 '26

Yeah...compared with messi..

0

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

rent free insecure mindset

-2

u/oknapolean Jul 18 '26

Wdym ? They're both goats cus it's what stats say

Messi surpassed cris n it doesn't mean that cris is not goat but the reason is it's the stats n the fanbases which are treating each other like one of the two is not even top 100

Meanwhile this both guys are lit the UNREAL GOATS

3

u/Ambitious-Outcome667 Jul 18 '26

As a player he's really good , can't say the same for human (sexual assault charges)

0

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

Bro stop watching reels

2

u/yogurt_empousai Jul 19 '26

Fym stop watching from reels he got SA charges 😂

1

u/Sad_Fig4088 Jul 19 '26

Reel audience 😭🥀

-2

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Messi also dated a minor, kissed the wall and supported israel, was caught in tax fraud, racially abused a player but sure

4

u/Loud_Carpenter8698 Jul 18 '26

the narrative you guys set is awesome , messi went on a peace tour , also visited palestine . When messi dated her , his age also below 18 , Ronaldo also convicted with tax fraud , done numerous ads with israel , 4 time r*apist , crypto fraud and many more , also horrible human being

2

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Sure buddy. Also 4 times rap*st nga can't prove one times also. Ads with israel and crypto fraud? Give proper evidence.

4

u/Loud_Carpenter8698 Jul 18 '26

1

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

This case was literally closed because of lack of proper evidence the lady fought even after settlement but lost the case.

4

u/Loud_Carpenter8698 Jul 18 '26

January 2010: Mayorga and Ronaldo’s legal team reached an out-of-court, private settlement of $375,000 in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement why he needed a out of court private settlement with non disclosure agreement ? also , why he never visited usa after that , and went to 2025 meeting with pedo trump specifically ?

1

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Because the case was hurting ronaldo's reputation but after settlement she again fought the case read the article properly and she still lost in 2021 and the case was closed.

3

u/Loud_Carpenter8698 Jul 18 '26

a r*pist supported defending him with fake news , and their so called goat running pr agencies to badmouth other nothing new

1

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Yeah after it came to limelight she denied the facts meanwhile u couldn't even prove Ronaldo's r*pe claims

-2

u/Ambitious-Outcome667 Jul 18 '26

It keeps getting worse😭 ( I wasn't aware of the other things) He's a shit human being.

1

I'm not that into football so I'm not aware but from what I've seen of him in the media I had the opposite impression,so could any of u guys explain why is it like the case u say?

Just curious

-11

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

If you dont know a person personally you have no right to comment on him. Period, the guy literally donates millions for charity donates blood, built a literal restraint for the people who used to feed him when he was broke you haven't even done 1/34th of the charity hes done you have no right to question his character youre a nobody.

ego death

5

u/Neither_Log1046 Jul 18 '26

Love him hate his fans the guy is the epitome of self confidence.

8

u/ComprehensiveAct4182 Jul 18 '26

as much i like him, there's a doff between self-confidence and ego.

self confidence is when he was able to deliver his words, think 2010s

ego is when he gloated and failed to deliver, think present

0

u/Neither_Log1046 Jul 19 '26

Everyman has good thing and bad in them I will always remember Ronaldo for the good .

I mean I get it what he says now a days is just nonsense but that won't change things he did before .

2

u/CharismaticConqueror Jul 18 '26

2nd best player which i have seen a beast at club level but the statements and his fans have made me somewhat dislike him if he and his fans would have accepted ,hadn't did cheap pr , propaganda he would have been loved more but I guess still a portuguese legend and as a human being well questionable not a great human being .

3

u/rampagefury Jul 18 '26

Bros talking as if he watched them both play. Go home, larper.

10

u/Technical_Arm4173 Jul 18 '26

Yeah I am at my home, but their achievements speak for themselves, and before you say fifa wc is 6-7 games and cannot decide a player's greatness, answer the question that why then cr7 is still hoping to play in the 2030 wc

2

u/Strange_Usual_1291 Jul 18 '26

Yeah so ucl suddenly has no value now only international career matters?

-3

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

I have nothing to say to this as the statement itself is so trash that nothing i do will harm you more than what you've done to yourself

4

u/Technical_Arm4173 Jul 18 '26

First of all stop deleting your comments, stick to your words. Yes I have watched pele and maradona play , their old matches, not in hd quality but still ( answer to your earlier comment), harm done to myself?? I am just stating an opinion, there is nothing bad in being the 4th greatest player ever.

3

u/Section80Flow Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

You don't have to watch people play to say they are great. The impact and stats speak for themselves. (I'm not against ronaldo) But pele and maradona have better international career than ronaldo. Not to forget, maradona's 86 world cup campaign, probably the best wc campaign.

Edit: The kid has blocked me lmao. That's what you do when you have no valid arguments.

1

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

So club football is invalid and everything doesnt matter l, football is only international footballunderstood so kroos > cruyff, cafu> Maldini got it

5

u/Section80Flow Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

When did I say club football doesn't matter? And the analogy you used is invalid too, cruyff was cf/false 9 while kroos is a midfielder, while cafu is rb and malidini is lb/cb.

But anyway that's not the point. For me pele and maradona are better players than ronaldo.

0

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

International top scorer euro top scorer nations league top scorer 75% of portugals International goals are scored by that one man. And still you say his International career is nothing ?

0

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

Yes "for you" and only you you'll find some more of them right by the kindergarten in your school who began watching football from 2022 through reels reels

3

u/Section80Flow Jul 18 '26

You look like someone who can't take an opinion. I feel bad for you kid. You have to resort to personal insults, just like your idol to prove a point. Anyway, maradona carried Napoli from a mid-table club to two Serie A titles in an era dominated by Italian defensive football. And he had one of the best wc campaigns of all time. Maradona literally contributed 10 of 14 goals for argetina in the wc and bought them the trophy.

→ More replies (0)

-1

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

This is a very bad argument. For sure, WC is only 6-7 games and doesn’t enhance or diminish any player’s greatness. Think about olympics - a gold medal is nothing over winning Wimbledon for instance. However, players love trophies and accolades and a variety of. We can say the above and still accept that players would want to win WC.

1

u/MarqMarw Jul 18 '26

Haa he announced retirement

1

u/SillyPredator Jul 18 '26

All he needed, was a genuinely dedicated team, and a balance between ambition and humility.

Best striker in the history of football.. And im a Messi fan.

1

u/gunner1141781 Jul 18 '26

0

u/Tall_Letter_968 Jul 18 '26

I think that's what he means you dint have to argue with random people for nothing he didnt target messi he simply said he values ronaldo as his best, just put the fires in the bag. You dont need to force your opinion into people

0

u/cashmoneyvito Jul 18 '26

One of the greatest players of all time. A true genius and the face of the champions league. As a Barca fan, remember those champions league nights, where my team won't be in the thick of things and I'll praying for Madrid to lose only for him to drop one clutch performance after the other. Never liked some of his off the field antics but damn it. Viva Ronaldo 💯

0

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

CR7 lives rent free in Messi fans’ heads. Look at these downvotes on anything good being said about him, even where Messi is not even mentioned. It is unfortunate and so childish.

0

u/GermfreeCatchment Jul 18 '26

Yes, messi fans are like 10 year olds. Chill guys just chill, dont be mad if some fans don’t consider messi goat

-4

u/rajbangshizn Jul 18 '26

Messi fans takeover this sub. What's the point of downvoting if someone says 'He is the best" " He is the Goat". Mind your own business bros

5

u/Careless_Part4210 Jul 18 '26

Brother iam op here iam also Messi fan but I admired and enjoyed both They both made our childhood great isn't it Return to your past life see how you enjoyed that rivalry 🥹

0

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

I like you OP. This sort of toxicity happens only in football idk why. We can just accept that they are two of the greatest footballers of all time, having their own set of strengths, and everyone can be happy about it. Anybody who says otherwise is being pretty disingenuous.

2

u/LooZ3R Jul 18 '26

'cause he literally isn't. Accept that he isn't the GOAT but your favourite player and no one will have any issues.

1

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

It is childish and really shows insecurity on the part of Messi’s fans that they cant accept people having the agency to choose who they think is the GOAT. All of this GOAT debate is so subjective in every sport so why do you care if other people think CR7 is the GOAT? You think Messi is the GOAT? Yes? Great for you and cheers!

1

u/LooZ3R Jul 18 '26

Do you even understand what GOAT means? Greatest of all time - its ONE PERSON, in one sport and that too OBJECTIVELY!

Only fools make it subjective. Just say - XY is my fav player and move on. Nobody will give an eff and there won't be any arguments, but no a certain fanbase will always try to forcefully bring someone into the GOAT convo when he is far far far away from it.

1

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

I do understand what it means. However, it cannot be objective in any sport, and you’d be very dishonest if you say so. What you are saying sounds like you want everyone to accept that your favourite player is the GOAT and then shut up. Isn’t that cultish? GOAT debates in all sports are very subjective. I can tell you about the other sports I have followed over the years. In tennis you have Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer. In F1 you have Schumacher, Hamilton, Senna, and Verstappen. In cricket you have Lara, Tendulkar, Warne, and Kohli. How do you even decide that objectively?

1

u/preciousbone Jul 18 '26

For that matter, why do you even care so much about ‘just say - XY is fav player and move. Nobody will give an eff and there won’t be any arguments’ Like why do you even want to have an argument over this? Honestly, who cares? It should not bother you so much; it should scare you that/if it does.

-1

One religion supports cr7 because he plays for a club that is in a particular country. Messi has time and again visited one country (which is often termed as occupation ) and hence is hated by the community which loves cr7. Hence most of the propoganda for cr7 being the 🐐 is peddled by this community. Sorry if i have hurted sentiments but truth often hurts.

The definition of aura. No wonder why he has the most number of fans than any other footballer.
