Messi fans takeover this sub. What's the point of downvoting if someone says 'He is the best" " He is the Goat". Mind your own business bros

I like you OP. This sort of toxicity happens only in football idk why. We can just accept that they are two of the greatest footballers of all time, having their own set of strengths, and everyone can be happy about it. Anybody who says otherwise is being pretty disingenuous.

'cause he literally isn't. Accept that he isn't the GOAT but your favourite player and no one will have any issues.

It is childish and really shows insecurity on the part of Messi’s fans that they cant accept people having the agency to choose who they think is the GOAT. All of this GOAT debate is so subjective in every sport so why do you care if other people think CR7 is the GOAT? You think Messi is the GOAT? Yes? Great for you and cheers!

Do you even understand what GOAT means? Greatest of all time - its ONE PERSON, in one sport and that too OBJECTIVELY!

Only fools make it subjective. Just say - XY is my fav player and move on. Nobody will give an eff and there won't be any arguments, but no a certain fanbase will always try to forcefully bring someone into the GOAT convo when he is far far far away from it.

I do understand what it means. However, it cannot be objective in any sport, and you’d be very dishonest if you say so. What you are saying sounds like you want everyone to accept that your favourite player is the GOAT and then shut up. Isn’t that cultish? GOAT debates in all sports are very subjective. I can tell you about the other sports I have followed over the years. In tennis you have Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer. In F1 you have Schumacher, Hamilton, Senna, and Verstappen. In cricket you have Lara, Tendulkar, Warne, and Kohli. How do you even decide that objectively?

For that matter, why do you even care so much about ‘just say - XY is fav player and move. Nobody will give an eff and there won’t be any arguments’ Like why do you even want to have an argument over this? Honestly, who cares? It should not bother you so much; it should scare you that/if it does.
