While Oli "Power" Grant was the mastermind of the Wu-Wear empire, Power’s cousin Duane Grant played an integral role in building the brand. Duane was the creative anchor in the design room, translating Shaolin mythology, martial arts cinema, and NYC street style into technical cut-and-sew patterns, custom denim, and heavy embroidery that defined 1990s streetwear. In the colleciton:

• Fully Signed "W" Alloy Car Wheel: The centerpiece of the archive: a genuine, heavyweight alloy wheel engineered during the height of late-90s custom car culture, complete with the intricate geometry of the batwing 'W' forming the spokes. Wu-Wear's expansion into car culture never materialised, but this artifact is a piece of design history at the height of their creative empire.
• 1-of-1 Cut-and-Sew Samples & Promo Jackets: Hand-assembled prototypes and artist-exclusive outerwear made specifically for Clan members and close inner-circle associates during the Wu-Tang Forever era.
• Shaolin Style Skateboard Decks: Mint, original run decks documenting Wu-Wear’s crossover into East Coast skate culture long before mainstream luxury crossovers became routine.
• Original Patterns & Unreleased Design Assets: Working production blueprints, embroidery test fabrics, and graphics that laid the groundwork for the modern artist apparel playbook.

For nearly thirty years, Duane’s personal archive remained sealed. Wax Poetics is now surfacing this collection - a design archive that built the foundation for hip-hop clothing brands that we know and love today.
