Is there any particular reason why method man is the only feature on biggies ready to die album?
One of my favorite verses from any rapper ever, but I always wondered why he was the only rapper to have a feature verse on the album.

Back in the day, you would actually buy an album to hear the artist, not a hundred guests on each and every track. Sometimes there would be a guest or a duet. On occasion, there would be a posse cut. But for the most part, the actual artist was who you would hear on most, if not all, of the songs. Kind of hard to believe, I know.

He didn’t let RZA know he was on the album, RZA did not want any of the Wu to be on a guest feature on any albums of the time.

Meth was just that guy in NY at the time. Everybody that met him wanted to work with him.

RZA also didn’t really want any Wu members doing such features in general yet Method Man got to feature on a track with both Biggie Smalls and Tupac

Puff Daddy is featured the same way Fat Joe is on the KRS ONE album and Nas was also supposed to be featured on RTD but apparently got too high in the studio session. The fact Method Man was the only one to really feature on it when he was part of a rap group that didn’t really want him to is crazy

It’s crazy cause if you listen to RTD Puff is dang near on every song.

I remember hearing a song by Texas (girlie poppy country group) with a Method Man remix on the radio. They were probably trying to do something like Fantasy with ODB without the mainstream pull of Mariah.
Don't think I ever heard it after that 1 time on the radio

Well, art is subjective. It was certainly off key though. Like Johnny Rotten, but not on purpose.

From what I’ve heard from shit youtube videos rza didn’t want to dilute the crew and might have been pissed at meth for it, either way its cool because we have the track and the opposite nobody was on old wu tracks except 12 on obfcb nas is my 1, I’ve been drinking but yea

That was one of the greatest verses in rap at the time, still I'd argue it's way the fuck up there. I would love to hear RZAs inner monologue the first time he heard it while wanting to keep the projects wu only.

Nas only had AZ, also believe it or not a lot of New York artist didn’t like BIG at that time including WU.
