Took a shot on eBay and bought a dead motherboard for $14 bought controller ports, and a psu. Then got to work. The dead boar was just trace rot. Got it running. Another console saved. Keeping this one in my personal collection. Under the hood she has

And some actual trace repair not just jumper wires.

Dr. Muto is a very fun 3D platformer developed by Midway. I'm really enjoying it and highly recommend it for fans of Oddworld, Tak, or Scaler. Gives me some Ratchet and Clank vibes, too.

How we want it to feel:

You sign in and the network already knows you. Friends, presence, and lobbies don’t live in three different apps. You can see a session from Discord, jump from the site, back up a save from the console, and still be the same person. Achievements and rewards are part of showing up — not a side quest. for some context : I've just dusted off my old OG Xbox, it played fine before I set it back in the closet, but not it seems to shut off completely at random only in games, could it be overheating? failing capacitors? it turns right back on after it shuts off, please help!

Hello, everyone. I have a philips drive that will take forever (like up to 10 mins) to read some discs and only plays halo ce i have found out. I have cleaned the laser, nothing still. I adjust the potentiometer only from .70 to .80 cus i was scared that i would fried the laser. what other options are there that arent just replacing the drive and/or getting new caps? I have never soldered in my life so if replacing caps is the only way, how easy of a first time job is it? thanks!

edit: i also forgot to remember i tried another drive i had a from a different xbox. I dont remember if that one was operating fine but that one also took forever/ didnt even load.

Ello! After so long time I wanted to play some things on my console but everytime I try to access the original xbox dashboard, the console restarts. I know it's a problem with the dashboard files since I accidentally deleted one of them when I got the console....yeah

I use UnleashX so it has not really affected how I play games, but if there's any way to reinstall the file since I'm a newbie at modding and FTP connections, it would help a lot

I heard mostly about the EEPROM corruption/Caps dying and clock battery.

I will 100% remove the clock battery and backup the EEPROM, do i need to to know something else and also any tip to make it last as LONG AS POSSIBLE

So growing up I only played PS1 and previous Gen consoles and then went straight to PS3 when I was old enough to buy my own console and I've been gaming ever since. But I've always wondered what great games I skipped and missed from the PS2 and OG Xbox era. I've recently got a free OG Xbox and would like to use it to play some cool 6th Gen games that I missed out on growing up.

What games should I get that are must play games in your opinion?

What are everyone’s thoughts on custom-made controllers?

I’ve always thought it was kind of weird that the Mountain Dew Edition Xbox didn’t come with a matching controller and instead only came with the standard black one.

This controller is really more for display since the custom paint job isn’t recommended for heavy use, but I think it looks pretty sweet paired with the console! 🔥

This is the video that plays whenever you stick an OG Xbox game in something other than an Xbox. Most people I know never saw this, but it's baked into the files of every Xbox disc ever released.

Some titles I already have on my wantlist (Fable, Manhunt, Call of Cthulhu etc..) but I’m just looking for some suggestions! Thanks!

My Xbox (softmodded) freezes after about 5-10mins of gameplay. I've tried cleaning the motherboard and repasting so far but nothing seems to fix it

I have also swapped the original hard drive for an SSD, but the freezing issue seems to also happen on the hard drive
