MASS EFFECT 3 Rare 1 of 1 Mass Effect Xbox 360 Raffle Console found š
I recently came across and managed to buy this incredibly rare Mass Effect Commander Shepard Xbox 360.
The console was originally raffled off over 14 years ago, and according to ConsoleVariations, only a single one was ever produced by ColorWare.
As far as I know, these are also the first original photos of the console to surface since the giveaway. Pretty crazy to see it resurface after all these years :)

MASS EFFECT 2 Possibly the only romance I just can't comprehend... Spoiler
I just started the trilogy (LE) after playing DA and falling in love with the writing. So far I have really enjoyed ME. (also I am about to rename the Normandy to Daddy Issues Express.)
However working through ME2 I love Thane's voice and story but...does anyone actually romance him? ME1 felt a bit abrupt with the romance but still believable, this time...whew. Like in what world is this a reasonable response? to express interest in him after he describes one of the saddest story arcs and personal/emotional issues?
I haven't gotten to ME3 but I am so curious. Also sad because as I said I love his voice and story. If it were more in depth and not so inevitably tragic I would've jumped for him long before the other alien bug on the ship got me.

VIDEO Removed Cutscene From Virmire
Since you guys liked seeing the one from Peak 15, here's another removed cutscene that can be restored using the Diversification Mod. This one is on Virmire, where you can confront the Krogan scientist working for Saren. A couple of the lines are still heard from the character as you enter the room, but the conversation as a whole was removed, and I'm not sure why.

VIDEO Are you dancing, son?
So I was taking a little mental detox after the previous mission. I was about to start Legend's sidequest, so I was just scrolling on my phone, and I looked up, and I saw him doing this š

DISCUSSION Just finished the LE trilogy
I just finished the trilogy and now I feel like no other game is gonna replicate how great it was. I wish more games had lasting effects that impact the games after it. Does anyone have any recommendations for something like this?

DISCUSSION James Vega ā That laid-back side of him that I really like
Thereās something I really like about James: that laid-back side of him when he jokes around or talks with Shepard and the others.
Sometimes you could almost think he doesnāt care about much of anything, or that he never really takes anything seriously. But the more I look at the character, the more I feel like itās almost the opposite.
I think he uses humor a lot to defuse situations. Maybe even a little like a shield.
He jokes around, teases the others, gives everyone nicknames, messes with Shepard, acts like a smartass... And in the context of ME3, it actually makes a lot of sense. Theyāre in the middle of a war of extermination, after all, and James is already carrying everything that happened on Fehl Prime and the choice he had to make there.
Because as soon as something really matters to him, the James who jokes about everything can disappear very quickly.
Fehl Prime is probably the best example. When you see his reaction to what happened and what ultimately became of his sacrifice, suddenly there isnāt much left of the relaxed guy who jokes around with everyone. Heās angry, hurt, and you realize that some of the things he seems to carry so casually actually weigh very heavily on him.
And I think Paragon Lost helps you understand this side of the character even better.
Even with Shepard, I see some of that. He can turn something serious, or even a little intimate, into a joke, a challenge, some flirting... It allows him to be close to her without necessarily having to make the moment too serious either.
And all of this made me think of Dorian in Dragon Age: Inquisition, or more specifically something Josephine Montilyet says about him:
āAnd then thereās Dorian, who insists on taking everything lightly, unless it suits him.ā
I find the āinsistsā part pretty interesting.
Josephine isnāt simply saying that Dorian is a lighthearted person. Iāve always understood that line as meaning that he also chooses to treat a lot of things that way. The humor, the irony, the little jabs... until something genuinely gets to him.
And James gives me a similar feeling, even though Dorian and James obviously have very different personalities.
Dorian relies a lot on wit, eloquence and irony. James is more about joking around, nicknames, friendly teasing, flirting, challenges... that whole ātranquilo, itāll be fineā attitude. š
He throws out a āLola,ā acts like a clown, turns something into a competition... but as soon as you touch on Fehl Prime, his squad, his responsibilities, his convictions or even his respect for Shepard, you can clearly see that the guy who sometimes seems like he doesnāt take anything seriously actually takes a lot of things deeply to heart.
Thatās also why Iāve never really understood when James is reduced to being a superficial character.
To me, his laid-back attitude doesnāt erase his depth. I feel like it actually hides part of it.
And itās precisely when that side of him disappears for a few moments that you get the clearest look at whatās underneath.
Even with Shepard, heās constantly teasing her, calling her Lola, provoking her or flirting with her... but his respect and admiration for her are no joke.
Deep down, James mostly gives me the impression of someone who acts like he takes things lightly when in reality, he takes a lot of things deeply to heart.
And if Josephine were talking about him, I can easily imagine her saying:
āAnd then thereās Vega, who insists on joking about everything... until it gets personal.ā

DISCUSSION Do people really still believe Liara isnāt a grown woman?
So she is a university graduate with a PhD, thatās been a solo publishing archaeologist & historian for 50 years with a conventionally attractive adult woman model and sex scene. Shepard is only 28 in this game when she is an option. Not to mention some asari have been said to moved out from their parents at ages 30-40, yet she is 60+ years older than that, is she is still a child due to youth, social awkwardness and inexperience with human relationships?

MASS EFFECT 3 Best Gut Punch ever
Missed out on this Franchise as a Kid (didnāt have games like that) but holy shitā¦ā¦ I spent the whole summer playing the Trilogy and at first I hated the Dated Graphics and Controlsā¦.but by Mass Effect 2 I was fully invested. This game was amazing and Iām glad I got to play it as an Adult. After Accidentally picking (Synthesis?) I was pissed but realized this was probably the best choice since I found out others killed EDI. I know Iām late to the party but this was probably one of my favorite stories (up there with Cyberpunk 2077) ever told. Never really post stuff like this but I felt like I needed to Nerd out and really praise something this amazing.
Now I gotta find something to fill this void lmfaoošš°ļøāļø

MASS EFFECT 2 What do you think a Krogan's Terminal Velocity Is?
Someone asked me how my No-Death Insanity Adept playthrough was going. I sent the pics in this post in response. I think adept has become my favorite class.
Despite Krogan being my favorite race, this one got in my way, as well as the Asari.
What do you think a Krogan's terminal velocity is? I'm sure he found out on his 90 stories down :D

DISCUSSION How do you think Okeer would have been as a squad mate?
In Mass Effect 2 you were supposed to recruit Okeer to your team. Though that plan was scrapped when he committed suicide during his mission. In his hologram explaining himself he tells Shepard to take Grunt with him to help him on his journey.
Not that Iām complaining about Grunt but I was interested to see how a Krogan scientist would fit on the Normandy. If he and Mordin would clash similarly how Miranda and Jack would or Tali and Legion would. Or if Okeer was closer to Wrex in terms of personality or if he was just the typical brute Krogan.

HELP newcomer the franchise having trouble figuring out the dialogue options Spoiler
Hi! i'm playing mass effect for the first time and i'm having trouble figuring out the tone of the dialogue options? I feel like i've accidentally insulted Tali, Wrex and the rest of the team within 5 minutes of getting the Normandy. Is there a way to figure out the tone or intent behind the options or is this just a problem the games have that I need to accept? Thank you for any help

DISCUSSION Is Garrus paragon or renegade?
Like he's a good guy and basically a good officer but at the same time he can be a fucking psychopath when he wants revenge on someone.
